Prologue
This had to be the worst disgrace of Carnelian's life. Didn't Ruby value her? She was a soldier, for Moon's sake! She was forever loyal to Ruby, even promised to kill Ex-Queen Scarlet, should she ever return.
She had done so much for the Queen, and this is how she was being repaid? Sent to a school with dragons she used to want dead?!
Maybe the fact that she's be in the presence of the Dragonets of Destiny would be better, but no, NO, NO! First of all, there wasn't a SkyWing dragonet like there was supposed to be. Therefor, no dragon she could really look up to. Worst of all, the replacement for that SkyWing wouldn't even be at the school. Too busy ruling lazy RainWings and lying NightWings.
She wasn't exactly too excited to meet her "Winglet" either. As she was packing her things, she took a quick glance at her information sheet.
Winter, an IceWing dragonet. Not just an IceWing, but an IceWing prince. He'd certainly be amazing to get along with.
Umber, a MudWing dragonet. At least she'd have one ally at this pathetic excuse for a school. She wondered if she'd fought with this dragonet before. Maybe they could get to know each other.
Maybe.
Moonwatcher, a NightWing dragonet. All Carnelian knew about this one was that she wasn't raised on the NightWing volcano. Her mother decided to sneak her off to the Rainforest and hide her there. Seemed smart, considering the volcano practically blew up.
Kinkajou, a RainWing dragonet. Carnelian was not excited to meet her. She didn't plan to have to deal with any RainWings in her life. It was bad enough the replacement for the SkyWing dragonet was a RainWing. What would RainWings do at school? Sleep and eat all day?
Qibli, a SandWing dragonet. One of Thorn's little lackies while she was living in that ragtag town. What would this dragon be like? Unhygienic, no manners? Or would he expect everyone to listen to him because he used to help run the Scorpion Den?
Turtle, a SeaWing dragonet. Another prince in their Winglet, how nice. Would anyone really care, though? Queen Coral had like a million sons, and only three daughters. Surely dragonets would pay more attention to his sister, Anemone.
And then there was her. Carnelian, the SkyWing dragonet. Punished for absolutely nothing. Being sent to a school with spineless dragonets who probably knew nothing of the pain of the war.
This was most definitely going to be the worst years of her life.
