James' POV
Me and Y/N were in my room, laying on my bed watching Once Upon A Time together, while snuggling. This had become like a sort of weekly ritual for us.

Since we could still hangout and be close, without making it too obvious we were together.

Most of Y/N's family seemed to know, but the issue was more my family. I didn't want to have issues with them possibly not liking her or like being meaner.

It's nothing against them, it's just kinda how they are.

My sister knew but besides that, no one in the family knew. Not even my parents.

They seemed suspicious but I just said we were close friends.

To be fair, we have only been together for about 1 year. Yeah that's a long time, but I don't know if it is long enough for my parents to be okay with it. Plus we are teens and all...

I was snapped out of my thoughts by a knock at the door. It was my mom.

Y/N quickly got off me, in fear of my mom walking in. But she stayed outside and yelled through the door.

"James make sure you're ready. In an hour some cousins are coming over. Dress nice we are doing family pictures!" She says.

Oh crap. I forgot about that.

"Ok mom!" I yell back at her.

I look at Y/N, a little nervous.

She laughs at me then asks, "should I get going?"

While standing up, but I grab her and pull her back into my arms.

"You're fine, we have an hour," I say, moving my lips to kiss her.

We kiss but then she breaks it.

"You still have to get ready," she says, laughing a little.

"I'll just wear a suit it's fine." I say.

"Oh your signature look? Adorable!" She says, not realizing she is even more adorable.

Y/N was helping me with my tie, I may have been wearing ties to every public event for like ever, but I still had no clue how to tie them.

That's a lie, I know how but I wanted Y/N to do it so we could be a little closer before she has to leave.

After tying my tie she gives me a little kiss on the nose.

"You missed" I say.

"No I didn't," she jokes.

"You know you did" I say, then kiss her on the lips.

She kissed me back, and we stayed like that for a second before my mom yelled "They're here."

Crap, I probably should have had Y/N out before now.

"Ok mom, be down in a second!" I yell back.

I couldn't send her out the window, she'd probably get injured. I couldn't just have her walk out, my family would see her.

I heard some steps outside my door and realized.

Louise could help.

I got to the door, and opening. Whisper yelling "Louise!"

After a few yells she looked over and I used my hand to motion for her to come here.

"What James, you know we have to go downstairs." She says, a little annoyed.

"I need your help." I say.

She lightly rolls her eyes, but comes over anyways.

Upon her coming into my room she sees Y/N.

"Oh hey Y/N, what are you doing here?" She asks.

"Trying to get her to leave," I say, quickly.

"How nice James" Y/N jokes.

"I'm sorry, I'm just really stressed." I say, quickly.

"James, calm down. It's not that big of a deal, so what if they see you two together." Louise says.

"I don't want them assuming stuff and then it becoming a huge deal that it doesn't have to be." I say.

"Well, eventually they are going to have to find out. You do realize what family we are apart of right?" Louise says.

"I get it Louise, but now probably isn't the best time. Can you just get Y/N out the back while I distract them." I say.

"How are you going to distract your entire family. Someone is bound to see me" Y/N says.

"With luck, hopefully." I say.

"Ok I'll do it, but it's more for Y/N then it is for you." Louise says to me.

I hug Y/N one last time, and then head downstairs.

I get downstairs to see almost everyone, good plan is to action.

"There you are James, took you long enough" Savannah, my like second cousin, says.

"Yeah, sorry." I say.

"We'll do pictures in a minute, we are just waiting on Louise and..." my mom starts, but fades off a like she's thinking.

"Mike," my cousin Zara pitches in.

"Oh yeah Mike" my mom says.

I mean, it's not uncommon to forget names sometimes in a big family.

"How long will it take," I ask, a little annoyed because I wanted to get these pictures done but also was hoping to not have them see Y/N, today at least.

"Probably not too long," Zara says.

Ok, so it's now to sit and hope it all works out.

Y/N's POV

Louise led me down a separate set of stairs, which I believe were meant to be like servant stairs or something.

Once we got to the bottom we went down a hallway, and eventually got to two separate doors.

"All you have to do is go out this door and then through the kitchen and out the back door. There you'll hopefully be able to meet with Kevin and he can get you home safely." Louise says, pointing to the door in front of us.

"Thank you Louise, let me know how pictures go!" I say.

"Of course, and if I get any embarrassing ones of James I'll send them to you!" She says.

"Please!" I say.

We quickly hug them go our separate ways.

She went out to meet with the family and hopefully get pictures done.

I went forward to the kitchen.

I got through the kitchen no problem, it was quiet and I made sure not to touch a thing.

Everything was going good until I got to the door.

I opened the door but before I could step out I heard a voice behind me.

"Who are you?" A male voice said.

I could tell it wasn't someone I knew, I was praying it was like a servant or something. Someone who I could just say that I was a friend of James to and then leave.

But of course that's not the case.

I turned around and saw a tall man, who was bald and had a beard.

Crap.

James' POV

We sat in the living room, I was next to Savannah as she was telling me about some girl at school.

I wasn't really paying attention, I was to busy looking at the door that Louise would walk out of.

Finally she walked out, now we were just waiting on Mike.

Louise walked over to Savannah and me and sat down.

I whispered to her, "did she get out?"

"I think so," Louise responded.

"Ok good, now I can stop worrying," I say.

"Why were you worrying, and who is 'she'?" A voice came from next to me.

Of course Savannah heard.

"No one," I said.

"Are you sure it's no one" Savannah said.

"Yeah!" I said, a little annoyed back.

"Ok, Louise tell me later," Savannah says.

"Of course I will Sav" Louise says.

Great just great.

Before I could tell Louise not too, another voice cut in.

"I don't think you'll have to wait much longer." It was Charlotte, and she pointed to the door.

There stood Mike, with Y/N next to him. She looked a little scared.

Oh this is just wonderful isn't it.

"So, who is this?" Mike said, looking at me.

"Well umm" I started.

"Do you know her or did she break in?" Mike said, more firmly.

Great, now the entire family knew of her.

"She is uh, just a friend" I said.

"Just a friend? You didn't seem to sure of that," Savannah says, to which I lightly slap her.

I then walk over to them, to try and get Y/N out of this situation.

"Ok, so she is just a friend? Then why are your lips a little pinker then normal?" He says, pointing at my face.

Uh oh.

"Well umm, we were just" I started, then got cut off.

"We've been together for a year," Y/N blurts out then covers her mouth with her hands, looking at me scared.

She mouthed 'I'm sorry' to me, before I could say anything my dad yelled something from behind us.

"Yes!" He said, then held out his hand and my cousin Zara handed him some money.

"Wait, did you guys bet on this?" I asked.

"Of course we did, me and your father knew for ages, but we just needed you to admit it. Which is why we got the family to come over." My mother says.

"So we don't need to do family photos?" I ask, again.

"No we still do, but now instead of getting someone to run and try to get into position for the photos, we can get her to do it" my aunt, Anne jokes.

They start to head outside, passing around money. Yet I didn't see a dime.

As I walked out, I turned and saw Y/N talking to Savannah, and the other female cousins.

It seems they all became friends quickly which is nice.

Then I overheard part of the conversation.

"What embarrassing pictures do you have of James?" Savannah said.

"A lot" Y/N responds.

"We should make a group chat to send pictures and also to plot..." Charlotte says.

"Bet"

Oh great, what have I gotten myself into.
