2 days ago She had missed any form of sane human left on this crazy world. Now She missed the days She was on her own. Her "companions" (they were NOT her friends)! Took every opportunity to find some new insult. Hey girlie nice hair. Hey tanny when'd you last have a bath? Hey big T the hairdresser is just round the corner. Back when she was alone she saw no reason to keep her hair or any part of her body that ,ahem, clean. The problem is that these masked men wore full thermal outfits with those damm balaclavas covering anything that she could have said back. She was on the backseat of the seegul with the leader. Speaking of which she really needed to find out his name. She decided to go straight for the big question "Hey leader whatever your called what do people call you?" She saw she could sense a smile behind his balaclava. "Call me George Wilson" as he said this she realised that his American accent sounded very forced. Strange she thought. As she pondered this thought the seegul suddenly stopped with a sudden halt.

"OH SHIT".

Was all she heard before a loud clanging of metal against skin was heard as she strained her neck to see the cause of the commotion. When she saw the cause of their halt she faltered. It seemed a crazy man had tried to dive at one of the leading seegul drivers taking him off and on to the ground. In a panic the driver had taken out a steel baton and knocked the mans head at a angle that defiantly spelt death. Georges eyes suddenly flew open as if he recognised the man. "WE NEED TO LEAVE NOW" he shouted as he remounted his seegul expecting her to follow him. Before anyone else could get on their seeguls a group of thirty men surrounded them holding rifles. If they worked in these conditions Tanya didn't know but she wasn't risking going to find out. Behind her George whispered "that mans badge, of a bird in a cage, it's a sign of a group of ice bandits calling themselves the black cages." His eyes showed fear as he carried on. " I I joined them for a few days during the early days after the government fell. "They are ruthless Tanya, they will kill anyone to get whatever they want". I looked each one of them in the eye and realised that George was telling the truth. Each one of them had a look that could only be described as murderous. The biggest of them all spoke up "Well well well who do we have here?" He sneered as he looks looked at George. "Leave me, George and the rest of out group alone" I Shouted hoping to sound confident. The man had a look of utter confusion. "George?" He thought about it for a second before carrying on "wait he hasn't told you who he really is?" He laughed to himself before finishing. "You now if it wasn't for him none of us would be in this mess, see h-" he was cut off suddenly because George had pulled out what looked like some kind of grenade. He pulled back the cap and threw it on the ground. Blue smoke started rising from it very quickly as Georges hand shot out and clamped over her mouth for the second time that day. She wonders why but then she saw through the smoke all the men were coughing. He gestured his had behind him and she understood perfectly. She put her own hand over her mouth and slowly they edged out of the ring of the men. Once they had left the cloud of blue they started running in a random direction. Anywhere was better then back there she thought.

George was nearly crushing her hand as they ran. Not that she was complaining though, Without his alertness they would be toast back there. They ran for what felt like miles in this desolate wasteland. Once they felt safe George and her  sprinted into a nearby building. Instead of thanking him she shoved him over and asked him "Who are you really?". "Also what the hell do you mean you are going to 'fix the world'?). He sighed and began his tale. "Before this whole thing happened I was a keen engineer working for the technology king himself, Zhou Yaoting,". "He was working on some new technology that he said would use the force of a vacuum to convert mass amounts of heat in the air into electricity". "With all the electricity there was going to be another positive side effect." "It was going to reverse the effects of global warming and generate enough electricity to last us around 700 years." "Wildlife protection agencies freaked and within 2 weeks he had enough backers to buy the whole of damm America." "From my guesses the vacuum stabilisers failed and they couldn't control the intake of heat so it simply sucked the whole worlds heat into one chamber." "I believe if we get close enough we can release the heat, restoring the world to its original state and maybe then we can rebuilt this broken world." "As for me I was one of the head engineers and was on a business trip to try and get one of our huge backers to drop his suspicions of us trying to control the world or sum dumb shit." "Unfortunately the team decided I wasn't important enough to witness my hard work of two years and decided to turn it off without me." "Personally I am offended but I guess it turned out good in the end."

Tanya stared at him and realised what the men meant by 'This was his fault'. "What we gunna do about the rest of those men that came with you?" "Tanya I know that group of bandits, None of them will will survive" They sat in an uncomfortable silence for a few minutes which was broken by tanya standing up and going "Well I'm sick of this cold lets go say bye bye to this god damm winter".  George offered a small smile and stood up.
