Chapter 2

It's been about a week since school started. Today, I suggested the first half to hone individual skills of each player. Then back to the basics of it all.

I'm quite impressed with our team. Their numbers are high. From their offense to their defense.

I watched them carefully. Coach smirked.

"The team is strong as it is without Kise. But with him victory is the only thing."

Memories of a blue haired boy popped into my mind and I smiled lightly.

"I wouldn't be too sure. There is one person Ryota has never been able to beat." I said.

Coach looked at me carefully. "A member of the Generation of Miracles?" He asked.

I nodded, a sad smile forming. "Yes. If Ryota doesn't learn it soon, he'll never be able to beat him."

Ryota needs to learn teamwork. He does everything on his own. He thinks everyone is so far beneath him. If he doesn't learn it, then he'll never beat Daiki.

Basketball isn't fun unless you work with your team.

Then again Daiki is lost to this concept as well.

"Ah! Nee-Chan! Watch out!" Hm? I looked up to see a basketball heading straight for my face.

Déjà vu.

~Three Years Ago~

I sat on the bench between Kana and Satsuki, a smile on my face as I watched everyone practice.

It's the second day of practice, and there is so much potential.

Especially from my fellow first years; Aomine, Murasakibara, Midorima, and Akashi. But my eyes drifted to the totally adorable Tetsuya.

He's so cute! Just like Kana. "Watch out!" Huh?

I looked up to see a basketball headed our way. I closed my eyes and braced myself for the hit.

However it never came. Slowly, I opened my eyes to see a large, dark, tan hand.

I followed it to the tan, muscular boy who is sweating profusely.

His short navy blue hair is dripping with sweat, but his blue eyes were cheerful.

He smiled at me. "That was close huh? You okay?" I nodded my head slowly. He closed his eyes and grinned.

My chest tightened and my face heated up.

What is this? "Ah, you're Kise Nina right?" I nodded my head, not trusting my voice.

He grinned cheekily and pointed to himself. "I'm Aomine Daiki. It'll be nice to work with you."

I struggled with my words, but Kana saved me. "Nina, isn't it nice to have such kind people on our team?" She asked, saving me.

I blinked before smiling up at him. "Thank you. I'll work hard to help you and the team. It's nice to meet you, Aomine."

~Present~

I quickly put my hand up and caught the ball, but I winced at the force that it had.

"Ow. Be careful. That's really dangerous." I warned, throwing the ball to Hayakawa. "I'm sorry!" He shouted, bowing.

I smiled and waved him off. "It's okay. Just be careful next time."

He was crying comically. "You're so nice!" He shouted. I laughed it off.

I'm not really nice. I'm pretty mean. Kind of like Ryota. But Ryota's worse.

He's like a coin. Two faces. The cheerful, happy, go lucky self is often forced. Because he's scared of being disliked. It's a little sad, but he's a pretty good person.

Just a little misguided.

I glanced at my watch. "We should probably stop for now. School is going to be starting soon." I said.

Coach nodded and stood. "Hit the showers." He called. Everyone immediately headed for the locker room.

I grabbed my bag and was about to leave when the gym doors opened.

A girl with short brown hair walked in, wearing a uniform of a different school. She looked at Coach and me and smiled.

Walking up to us, she spoke. "Excuse me. I'm Aida Riko from Seirin's basketball team."

Eh? Eh?! Seirin?! "Kana's team?" I asked, excitement building up. Riko looked at me in surprise and nodded. "Yes, Kana-Chan is our manager. I was just wondering if tomorrow we could hold a practice match."

Coach was about to decline but I grinned, putting my fists to my chest. "Yes! We accept!"

"EH?!" Coach shouted. Riko beamed. "Really?! That's great!" she cheered.

I grinned, closing my eyes. "Come here tomorrow and we'll start the match." I said. Excitement was evident in Riko's eyes.

"Hold on Kise-San." Riko's eyes widened as coach called my name and admiration showed on her face as.

I turned to coach, smiling sweetly. "We can play right?" I asked. He started sweating and his eye twitch as I gave him a puppy dog pout.

Finally he slumped in defeat. "Yes, that's fine." Riko and I cheered, high fiveing each other.

"This is awesome! Kana and Tetsu~!" I swooned. Riko laughed before looking at her watch. "I'm going to be late anyway." She muttered. She then smiled at us and bowed. "Thank you!" With that said she left.

I was off in la la land and didn't even notice when the players came out of the locker room.

"What's wrong with Nina-Chan?" I heard Moriyama ask coach. "Wait a moment. I know that look. It's when she see's or hears something she loves. Nee-Chan, did Kuroko-Chan or Kurokocchi send you a good morning text?" My brother asked, but I was still staring off dreamily.

"Well, tomorrow I agreed to a practice match with Seirin." Coach said. "Eh? Really? Well why is she like that then?" Kobori asked.

Ryota seemed to realize why and he grinned. "Kurokocchi and Kuroko-Chan attend Seirin right?!" I nodded, absent mindlessly.

No point in hiding it. He was going to find out tomorrow anyway.

"Alright! Kurokocchi! Coach, I'm going to Seirin after school to settle the details." Ryota said excitedly.

I snapped out of my dreamlike state and frowned. "Eh? No fair~! I want to see Kana and Tetsu too~!" I whined childishly, surprising our team considering I'm usually calm, collective, and more mature whenever we meet.

Ryota smirked. "Eh? But skipping practice is bad." I glared at my brother and kicked his shin harshly, making him fall.

"Which is why you should attend, and I, the manager, will go." I seethed.

Ryota and I were in a glare off. "Ryota, if you keep doing things like this, people will realize your crush on Tetsu and realize you're playboy persona is for show." I said darkly.

He smirked. "Eh? But Nee-Chan, if you keep on doing this then people will realize your crush on Kuroko-Chan. It's not healthy for a girl like you to be so obsessed with another girl." He replied darkly.

I smirked sadistically. "Huh? There's nothing wrong with it is there? I didn't realize my brother was a homophobe even though he himself is gay."

He glared at me dangerously. "I'm not gay." He stated.

I chuckled darkly, crossing my arms. "I'll do it." I said.

He narrowed his eyes more. "No, I will."

"I will!"

"No, I will!"

"No, I will!"

"I will!"

Our foreheads were touching and we were growling at each other.

"That's some sibling rivalry." Kobori admired from the side lines. "Knock it off you two!"

Kasamatsu hit both of us and we fell. "Neither of you are skipping practice!" He roared.

~

"Nina-Chan is scary." Hayakawa whimpered. I sat on the bench, seething pure rage.

A dark cloud of anger was around me. "Ryo-ta." I growled out.

The idiot said he was going to the bathroom, but in reality, he ditched. He's most likely heading to Seirin.

That bastard get's to see Kana and Tetsu. "I'll kill him." I muttered.

The players and coach all sweat dropped at me. "N-Nina-Chan, you'll get to see them tomorrow." Moriyama tried to comfort me.

I turned my cold gaze to him, making him shiver. "But he's going to touch my beloved Tetsu with his filthy hands. He might even touch Kana. I will chop off his hands for touching my precious Kuroko twins." I stated.

They sweat dropped. "You really do like the twins that much huh?" Kasamatsu asked.

My mood immediately lightened and I smiled widely. "I love them~!" I cooed, picturing the two.

The team just went ahead and continued practicing.

I wonder how strong Seirin is. Kaijo is extremely strong, but I have read up on Seirin.

They made it pretty far last year, but they are a newer school, especially their team, and it's not really well known.

But Tetsu is there. Thing's are starting to get interesting.

I sighed loudly and looked up. I'm fine with seeing Tetsu, but I'm bound to see the others as well.

Shin-Chan, Atsushi, Sei-Chan, and of course Daiki. I guess it's not going to be so bad, other then Daiki.

We kind of left on awkward terms. I only kept contact with Sei-Chan and the Kuroko twins.

And obviously Ryota since he's my brother.

But I haven't spoken to Shin-Chan, Atsushi, or Daiki since the incident.

Daiki texts me sometimes, but I never reply. I'm embarrassed.

Returning to reality, I stared at the players. "Moriyama-Senpai!" I called.

He turned to me, stopping in his tracks. "You need to be wider and lower to the ground if you want to properly block bigger opponents like Kobori-Senpai."

He smiled and nodded. "Thank you Nina-Chan!" I smiled in return and watched as he successfully blocked Kobori. He was being pushed back because he was focused on being tall.

My phone vibrated in my pocket. Taking it out, I almost squealed because it was from Kana.

Kana <3 <3 <3

Your brother is here. Kagami-Kun picked a fight with him. Kise-Kun's a bit of a show off huh? I think he just tried to kidnap Tetsuya. He said that his talents wasted here and that he should come to Kaijo with you two. Told me to come as well.

I seethed pure rage. "Ryo-ta." I growled out. I'm going to beat him black and blue!

"Tch. Damn that Kise. When I see him next I'll hit him for skipping!" Kasamatsu declared.

I smirked. I've quite enjoyed watching Ryota being punished properly by senpai.

But no matter how much it looks like a perfect team that's friendly with each other, Ryota doesn't rely on them.

He thinks he has to do everything himself. And that's irritating.

Although I would love it if the two of them came to my school. But then Tetsu wouldn't achieve his goal.

To prove them wrong.

I wonder how things will go.
