Chapter Nine: Surprises Left And Right
It has already been three years, and your relationship with Silco is as strong as ever. It is already the end of May, and your little sister, Caitlyn and Violet, have just turned three years old. You often take Cait to Zaun so she can play with Vi. As usual, your mom asked if you would take care of Caitlyn, and of course, you said yes.
So now you're walking to Zaun with Caitlyn on your shoulders. She loves it when you take her with you to Zaun. Vi and Cait are both only toddlers, so they don't say much, but it's funny to hear them talk in strange sentences sometimes. "Are you ready to see Vi?" She nodded excitedly. "Yes, will Silco be there?"
You smiled. "Of course he will. He's my boyfriend, after all." She nodded. You found it sweet that Caitlyn likes Silco so much. You hear her speak again, the last word not really coming out well. "Will he ever ma... ma... marry me?" you question. "Yes," she says excitedly, drumming softly on your head. You giggled softly. "I don't know, Caitlyn. Maybe one day."
After walking for a while, you came upon The Last Drop. It was never open in the mornings or evenings, so you and Felicia would have the place to yourselves during those times. You opened the door. Of course, Vander was there, as well as Felicia, Violet, and Connol, who was nowhere in sight. Surprisingly, Silco wasn't there.
You set Caitlyn down, and Violet came running at you. She is quite good at walking/running for a three-year-old. You picked her up in your arms. "Well, hello there, little squirt! Have you been good to your mother?" She nodded excitedly. You looked over to Felicia to confirm, and she nodded. "So, are you excited to play with Caitlyn?" "Yes!" Vi said excitedly. Good. You placed her down next to Caitlyn, and they both went somewhere in the last drop playing.
Well, good morning to you all. Do you know where Silco is by any chance? You went to sit at the bar. Felicia was doing the same. Vander was standing behind it as usual. Vander spoke up, "We haven't seen him all morning." You looked into Vander's eyes, trying to see if he was lying. There was a hint of a lie behind those eyes, but you didn't press further. "It's so strange. He just doesn't leave without saying something," you thought out loud.
Felicia patted you on the back. "He'll turn up soon enough," Vander interjected. "But how's the factory doing?" You smiled. "Pretty well, actually." After a year, you decided to build a factory in Zaun to produce the Monowheel for the city, so you recruited some of the smartest people in Zaun to help you with production. Of course, they receive a good salary.
Connol is actually one of the people you hired. He's quite smart, and Felicia is your right-hand woman, so they don't have to work in the mines anymore, especially when she had a second child on the way. Now, it's just a normal weekend, so everyone has the weekend off.
Felicia, didn't your mom want them in Piltover as well?" You chuckled. "Yes, she did, but I wouldn't let that happen. This is something for Zaun. Piltover has enough gadgets already." You all laughed. Felicia continued, "So, you and Silco, right?" You quirked an eyebrow at her. "Yes, what of it?" You gave an uncertain chuckle. "After a four-and-a-half-year relationship with him, he still hasn't proposed or wants to have a kid with you?" She's right, you know; even I'm surprised. Vander spoke.
Like I've said, I would love to, but if Silco doesn't want it, I don't need it. Our relationship is more important, and we talked about having a kid. He just wants it to happen like a surprise, you know?
Vander looked surprised. "Silco wants it to be a surprise. Well, that's something I didn't expect." Felicia nodded, agreeing with him. "You give a small smile. "Yeah, me neither, but it's exciting at the same time. I'm going to check on the kids." They both nodded as you walked down the stairs to the basement. The door opened upstairs at the same time you closed the basement door.
It revealed Silco and Connol in the doorway. Connol sat beside Felicia. Silco walked over to the bar, but without sitting down, he questioned, "Where's (Y/N)?" Vander chuckled. "Funny you should say that; (Y/N) asked the exact same question." Did you get the ring, though? Silco chuckled, "Yes, I do." He showed it to Felicia and Vander. Connol was the one who went with Silco, not needing to see it. It has a beautiful (F/C) diamond in the middle of the ring, where tiny vines with tiny red diamonds were placed. It wasn't extravagant, but Silco found it perfect.
It's a beautiful ring, Silco. "It's perfect for her," Felicia said. Vander spoke, "It definitely is. When will you ask her?" Silco shrugged, unsure himself. He softly chuckled, "No idea." Vander nodded. She's down in the basement with the kids. Silco nodded, closing up the box and walked down to the basement.
You are playing with the little ankle-biters on the floor when you hear the door open. You look up to see Silco in the doorway. The kids went to him, hugging his legs. Were you two nice to your sister and aunt? They both said yes! Excited, he chuckled. "Good, now scram Vander has some lemonade for you two." Vi and Cait left the room as fast as they could with their little legs.
You stand up from your sitting position on the floor. With Silco walking over to you, he placed his hands on your hips, giving you a passionate kiss. You, of course, kissed him back the same way you did, finding it a bit weird that he's being passionate; he never did, at least not like in random places like the last drop. You both parted the kiss, and you smiled, putting your arms around his shoulder. Alright, handsome, what's wrong?
He smiled softly, saying, "Please sit first." You looked at him, puzzled, but did so anyway, sitting at the corner of the couch. He knelt in front of you; the situation not really registering. He spoke softly but nervously: "(Y/N), would you do me the honor of renewing our promises, turning them into vows?" He took a box from his pocket and opened it in front of you. "Will you marry me?" You smiled, happy tears in your eyes. You spoke excitedly, "Yes, I would love to." He placed the ring on your ring finger.
When he did, you tackled him in a hug, creating a loud thud. You kissed him deeply. When you both parted, the door opened. Vander looked at both of you in shock, totally reading the situation wrong. You and Silco, in a panicked unison, said, "It's not what you think." Vander sill looking shocked then please tell me what it is then because im having my doubts
You showed Vander the ring on your finger, still laying on top of Silco. Vander, now getting the clue, looks at Silco. "I thought you didn't know when to do it?" Silco smirked. "I have my secrets." Vander chuckled. "Alright, you two, let's have a drink to celebrate." you and Silco got of the floor walking after Vander upstairs
You and Silco went to sit at the bar while Vander poured everyone a drink. On behalf of Felicia, she got something else without alcohol. You all toasted new beginnings.
Four weeks later, you're sitting in The Last Drop again. It's early morning, and you're going over some of your own paperwork for the Monowheel. You and Silco asked Vander and Felicia to plan the wedding for both of you, so you gave them the old notebook you and Silco used so they could scribble in it. They were a few feet away. You were still going over some paperwork when you suddenly felt nauseous; you darted out of your chair, running to the bathroom.
Everyone looked surprised at your sudden movement. Silco, concerned, ran after you. You were hanging over the toilet, spilling your contents. Silco stroked your back, asking, "Darling, are you okay?" You took a deep breath and exhaled. "Yes, I'm fine now. I just felt extreme nausea coming over me. Now it's almost gone. Maybe I'm just getting sick?"
Silco shrugged his shoulders. "Maybe," he said. He picked you up slowly, and you both went to sit back at the bar. You couldn't concentrate on your work now, getting a random headache. You lay your head in your arms on the counter and groaned.
Silco noticed your discomfort (Y/N)? You didn't really want to respond (Y/N)? Silco questions again, worried now. Vander and Felicia look up at hearing your name called twice; they see you lying on the bar. Felicia began walking over. "Are you alright, sis?" You didn't want to respond; the headache was getting worse. "Stop talking, please." It came out much meaner than intended.
The boys looked surprised at your sudden mood swing. Felicia knew what was going on. She spoke again. "(Y/N), when was your last period?" You shrugged your shoulders. "I don't know; it's been four weeks late." Realization hit you like a truck. "It's four weeks late," you repeated in disbelief. Vander chuckled. "Well, looks like we have another ankle-biter to take care of." He walked over to Silco, patting him on the back. "Congratulations."
You and Silco aren't processing this at all. You didn't know how your mom or dad would react; heck, you still haven't talked about your wedding. They're both probably going to kill you. But on the other hand, you were ecstatic. Silco was utterly out of it, not believing what he was hearing. He is excited, of course, no doubt about it; he just didn't know if he would be a good dad. Felicia spoke excitedly, "I'm so happy for both of you! You're going to be great parents."
You and Silco look at her, saying in unison, "We are?!" Vander and Felicia laughed. Vander patted Silco on the back. "Of course you are! Don't worry your heads about it." Vander is right. Did you see yourselves when you're with Violet and Caitlyn? You're both naturals.
That sort of soothes the nerves you're both having. Silco is at a loss for words, got out of his chair, and just hugs you close, laying his head in the crook of your neck. You hugged him back, knowing what he meant. He didn't want to let you go; he wants to cherish this moment with you. So much has already happened in such a short time span, but you cherished every second of it.
You both let go of the hug. Felicia spoke, "So, will we be having the wedding before or after the baby comes?" You looked at him, having a silent conversation. Silco spoke, "Before." "Alright then, that's settled," Vander patted both your and Silco's shoulders. You chuckled nervously. "My mom and dad are going to kill me."
Silco looked puzzled. "Why? Wait, you didn't tell your parents that we're getting married?" Felicia said. "Why not?" You gave a nervous smile. "I'm scared they won't come. That's bad to think about, isn't it?" Vander spoke lightheartedly but sternly. "(Y/N), let me tell you something: if they don't come, it's their loss. It's about you and Silco, not what your parents think."
You smiled. You're right, Vander, as always. But what if they want to come and want to hold it in Piltover? You look at Silco worriedly; he smiles. I wouldn't mind doing the wedding in Piltover, but the party will be held here, in the Last Drop. You chuckled. Oh, that's for certain; that's not going to change. you all laughed
After spending the whole day at the Last Drop, you went home with Silco tagging along so he could support you when you told your parents. When you arrived home, you gathered your parents in the living room. Caitlyn was already fast asleep.
Silco and I have an announcement to make you pause for a moment. Silco held your hand, giving it a little squeeze. Ow screw it, we're getting married and are expecting a child. If you're not happy about it... both of your parents hugged both of you. Cutting you off, your father spoke: (Y/N, if you're happy, we are happy. Your mom gave a kiss on top of your head, and we're excited to meet your grandchild. You smiled, happy that they have accepted you both.
All of you let go of the hug. Your mother continues, and I would like to help with this Zaun thing you have going on. I heard Heimerdinger speaking of this matter in the council. I will try my best, but I can't promise anything. You hugged her, saying, "Thank you."
Your father spoke to Silco, laying a hand on his shoulder. "Young man," he said, his accent thick, "I expect you to take good care of my daughter." Silco, unsure whether he should be intimidated, replied, "Of course, sir. I'll never forsake her." Your father smiled, saying, "Good."
What a turn of events this has been, no?
