Chapter 57

From LKT,

A Forbidden Family's end has been confirmed. In two more chapters, it will end. Thank you for supporting LKT.

The note below is written by Lauren Kutterfly:

Third to last chapter folks!

Sorry, but it's about to end. And yes, I lost the fanfic tournament, but I don't feel sad at all. I learned some pretty valuable lessons and hope to use them in the sequel and prequel of this book.

Now, enjoy what's left of it! :)

Chapter 57

Red flowers bloomed before me.

Pale grass danced in the wind.

I groaned and sat up, rubbing my throbbing forehead. My memory was hazy, but a face appeared.

Noah.

My senses immediately snapped awake. I quickly got up and looked around frantically.

There wasn't much to see. Red roses and white, glittering grass covered the floor, endlessly in all directions.

I swallowed and began to stumble around.

"Noah?" I called out hoarsely. "Noah?"

"He isn't he and will never be."

I jumped, almost falling over. I whipped my head around to see who said that, but I only saw air.

"I'm right here." the voice echoed in front of me. I turned back around and my eyes widened.

A man dressed in a plain black shirt and jeans stood before me.

"Wha...? Who?" I stammered, shocked.

The man smiled. "You're Karen Ackerman, right? Hero of the Twin Nova Worlds?"

I stared at him crazily. "What?"

The man took a few steps toward me. I immediately stepped back, keeping my distance from this crazy man.

"Who are you?!" I demanded summoning my sword and gripping it in front of me. "And where am I?!"

"Gotherma," the man answered simply. My eyes widened again.

"G-Gotherman?" I gasped. "You're that protector of the Barrier?"

Gotherman spread open his arms as if he wanted a hug. "And no other. Welcome to the Barrier."

Silence drifted past us as I stared at him. Then everything hit me and I let out all my anger.

"You!" I accused, gritting my teeth. "You're the one letting the two worlds collapse! Isn't it your job to uphold them?!"

Instead if retorting back like I expected him to, Gotherma laughed.

"Ah, young hero!" his voice boomed through the space. I flinched and took another step back. "It is not I who is causing the destruction of the universe!"

I glared at him. "What do you mean?!" I yelled. "You're the goddamn protect!"

Gotherman grinned. "My dear hero, look." He pointed to his right at a black line that expanded over what seemed like... Earth.

"Wait... That's..." I started but Gotherman beat me to it.

"That tis Earth," he told me. "But the Hiloras, or in Human language, the Dark Side, is taking over the purity of the planet."

I stared, watching as the line began to grow in size and shape.

"You're friend is in there," Gotherman continued. "He's fighting all the corruption that you humans have created. All those monsters that you saw? They're just sins taking shape of animals and demons."

"Noah..." I whispered, and suddenly the world seemed to tilt violently. "Noah is in there..."

But Gotherma didn't even seem fazed by that fact. He didn't seem bothered that people are dying by the second. He didn't even looked like he cared that the worlds were ending.

"The fall of the two worlds will be your fault," Gotherma smirked.

I gritted my teeth. "Why?!"

Gotherma smiled viciously. "Your family is a forbidden family. If you weren't born, then the end of the universe would of never have happened," he told me. "The fates have decided though. It's too late to turn back now."

"You can save Earth-" he pointed to his right "-and the Anime world-" he pointed to his left at a purplish looking planet that I have never seen before "-if you choose wisely."

I clenched my hands around my sword so hard that my knuckles turned white.

"And what's that?" I asked through clenched teeth.

Gotherma smiled. "You must choose. Will you fight for the anime world or the real world?"

My world freezes in time right then.

That questions again. Which side will I choose?

This is my fate from the start and will remain my fate until I decided.

So what do I choose?

I turned my head to the right, watching as the dark line spread across the surface of Earth, my home.

I turned to look at the Anime world, watching as yet another dark line slithered its way around it, claiming it as its own.

Both worlds were part of me. Both of them are my home. They both have part of my family in them.

I've found the answer. Finally. The one and only answer to the Prophecy. I understand it now.

I took a deep breath, relaxing my grip on my sword a bit and announced, confidently,"I choose both worlds!"

Gotherma, for once, looked taken aback a bit.

"What?!" he hissed. "You can't do that!"

"I can!" I continued, more sure than ever. This is it. This is the answer.

"I choose the both because I believe in everyone!" I yelled. My black, obsidian sword began to have a whitish glow. "I believe in Cecilia even though she was never my friend! I believe in all of my friends in the Anime world!"

My sword began to radiate. I took another deep breath and continued,"And I believe in my father and mother! They are fighting right now for all of us! Because they have faith! And that's why I refuse to give up!"

The air around me shifted, caging me and Gotherma in a whirlwind.

"Why you-" Gotherma began, his happy face gone, replaced by anger and disbelief. His clothes shimmered and faded away. In its place was a black robe with golden designs.

"And I believe in the Wings of Freedom!" I yelled, even louder. My sword was practically burning in my hands, but I had to do this. For everyone. Everyone was still fighting out there.

"And Noah!" I screamed to the Heaven above and Hell below. "That's why I choose both!"

The light from my sword suddenly burst, engulfing me in white. Gotherma disappeared as I felt myself travel through time and space again.

I did it. I saved the Barrier and the Two Worlds.
