Chapter 28

"What?" I asked, not believing what I just heard. "What do you mean by 'son of Erwin Smith and Katrina Smith'?"

Noah sighed and he lowered his sword arm. His blade of light flickered for a moment before fading away. His black cloak bursted into sparkles and drifted up into the sky into they disappeared from my sight.

Apparently, Noah had questions of his own so he chose to ignore mine.

"Where you here the entire time?" he asked.

"Um, yes?" I answered unsurely.

"Did you see everything?" he asked, this time slower and more cautiously.

"Yes...?" I replied, my answer dragged out. Something wasn't right. Something felt odd.

Noah stared at me wide eyed for a moment before muttering under his breath,"I thought that only Animatos and Normatos can move during a Time Flow."

"Excuse me," I interrupted his line of thoughts. "Can you explain what a Time Flow is?"

Noah shook his head, exasperated.

"It won't affect you anyhow. Someone like you doesn't need to know," he said.

"Actually, I kinda do need to know," I said, slightly annoyed. "I'm an Animato so this will affect me one way or the other."

Noah looked up at me in surprise.

"You're an Animato, too?" he asked, incredulously.

"Yeah...?" I answered slowly. What does he mean by I'm an Animato too? Is he an Animato? If so, does that mean Katrina Smith. his mother, came from the real world.

Noah stared at me for a second before suddenly breaking out in a rushed voice filled with words that I don't understand of,"The Prophecy, Two Animatos. A hero's fate. The clash of the two worlds. The Twelve Elemental Gods. It all makes sense now."

I simply stared at him as he rambled on. I was lost and confused. What is going on here?

"Um, can you explain what you just said?" I asked, confusion coating my voice.

Noah paused and turned to look at me as if remembering that I was there.

"Who's your parents?" he asked, bluntly.

"Levi Ackerman and Caitlyn Ackerman," I answered bravely. Maybe this guy is also a stalker just like my dad?

He stared at me with even wider eyes.

"Levi Ackerman and Caitlyn Ackerman?" he repeated. He looked off to the side for a moment and I saw his eyes glare up for a while. But the flames in his eyes disappeared as quickly as it came.

"I think that you need to come with me," he finally decided. "This something we need to discuss about."

We raced through the forest as fast as our horses could carry us.

Simon, Noah's horse, broke off into a dash at the beginning so I had no choice but to copy his speed. And no. It was not easy. Simon was more built than Crystella so he was able to withstand the run.

"Where are we going?!" I yelled as I ducked when a branch appeared in front of my face and threatened to knock my head off my shoulders.

"To find mine and yours dad!" he yelled back. "They need to know about this!"

"But they already know!" I told him.

"I know, but they don't know about the meaning of the Prophecy yet! I need to get my dad. He'll know what to do!" Noah said as he turned a sharp left. I followed him as I raised my hand to push aside twigs.

"Are you an Animato?!" I suddenly yelled. I needed to know. I don't want to be the only one in this world as an Animato.

"Yes I am! My element is Light, one I the rarest ones! Light elementals happen every once in a Blue Moon!" he replied.

I was shocked and amazed. At least this guy knew what he was whereas I have no clue who I even am.

"What's happening?" I hated asking him so many questions but I had to. I knew that he'll be the only one who would answer me without acting all cautious and keeping things from me.

"I'll tel you when we get to somewhere safe! This place isn't secured and I can't fight the Titans while protecting you. In the meanwhile, tell me your name and your element. I need to know!" he hollered because he was so far ahead.

"I'm Karen! Karen Ackerman! Daughter to Levi Ackerman and Caitlyn Ackerman. And, for the record, I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT ELEMENT I HAVE!" I yelled at the top of my lungs. I sounded stupid, but that was the truth.

"You don't know what element you are of?! Has no one told you yet?!" he yelled over his shoulder.

"No one did!" I said. "Why? Is that bad?"

Noah muttered something under his breath too soft for me to hear. His face was deep in concentration as he pondered something very serious. Finally, he turned to look at me and yelled out,"I think I can help you with that when we get back to the HQ!"

"How will you do that?!" I asked.

"You'll see!" was the last thing he said before we broke into the clearing where all of the Survey Corps stood ready.

"Karen?!" a bewilded voice yelled from above me. I looked up and saw my mom standing on a branch next to Erwin. "What are you doing here?! This place isn't safe! Go back to where you were so that your Dad can keep a close eye on you!"

I rolled my eye in disgust.

"Yeah, I'll go back to my post and get almost killed again," I said sarcastically. My mom's eyes widened.

"ALMOST KILLED?!" she shrieked. "What happened?!"

I was about to answer, but a loud screech cut me off. I whipped my head back to see a 9 meter Titan heading our way at full speed.

"Wha-" I wasn't even able to finish my sentence when I felt time freeze itself again. Noah jumped off his horse and waved his hand in the air. His sword appeared once more.

Noah charged forward, his sword pointed in front of him.

"HIYA!" he yelled and, with one swipe, chopped off the Titan's head.

The head rolled off to the side. Noah landed on the ground and used his hands to maintain his balance. He snapped his fingers and time resumed again. By the time it did, the Titan already bursted into feathers and disappeared.

"NOAH?!" a voice yelled in shock.

I looked up and saw Erwin staring at his son in surprise.

"Hi Dad," Noah greeted in a simple way as if the Titan incident never happened.

"Why are you here?!" Erwin scolded. "I told you to eliminate any Titans from outside the formation! This is NOT outside the formation!"

"I know!" Noah yelled. "But forget that! I brought someone important here! Karen says she's an Animato! Do you know what that means?!"

Erwin stared at me as realization finally drawn to him. He drew in a deep breath before commanding,"Fall back. We're going back inside the walls. The 58th Expedition shall be on pause for the time being."
