Chapter 19
I hate running. Especially when my dad is staring at my every move. That kind of creeps me out.
I gasped for breath as I raced across the lawn, my legs pushing past its limits. I gave a surge power and ran head on, ignoring the blazing pain in my legs. I kept running even though I felt tired and needed to seriously take a break. I refuse to lose. I don't want to appear weak in front of Levi.
My breaths were coming out uneven now. The world started to spin dangerously before my eyes. My legs couldn't keep up with my pace anymore and suddenly gave away. I collapsed into a heap on the the floor.
The sky is so blue was the last thing I thought about before the world turned dark and I felt myself free fall into a pit of darkness below me.
---------------------------------------------
I can't see a thing. Everything appeared red; red as crimson blood. I sat up and felt myself weak. My limbs felt like jello and my arms and legs wouldn't corporate.
"Wha...?" I asked, rubbing my eyes. I sat up and stared at the empty space in front of me. It was too dark for me to make out anything.
"Hello?!" I called out into the darkness. "Anyone there?!" No one answered me.
I hugged myself tightly and stepped through the dark. For some reason, it felt dark and lonely here. I didn't like the feel. Something was wrong.
"Hello?" I called again, hoping that someone will answer me this time. Still no one did. As I wandered deeper into the pit, I felt someone brush my shoulder slightly, but it was enough to make me lose my cool.
I whipped my head around to see who touched me, but I only saw air. No one was there.
Just a sensation, I assured myself. Just a sensation.
I continued walking, my footsteps echoing through the space. As I took another step forward, I felt someone touch my shoulder again.
"Who's there?!" I cried out and turned around sharply. This time I saw it. A man with jet black hair wearing an old fashion black toga stood before me.
"Who the hell are you?!" I demanded.
"That is not important..." his voice sounded like a mechanical whisper. "I came to tell you that the end of the world is beginning. The Barrier of Eternal Peace between the anime world and the real world is beginning to crumble... If it collapses, the anime world and the real world with collide ad the ward that your ancestors has tried to avoid will begin again... And only you can save it..."
"What?" I asked dumbfolded. "What do you mean?"
The man started to drift away, his form slowly being devoured by the darkness.
"You will see... when the time is right..." he whispered. "You will see..."
He disappeared in a puff of dark blue smoke.
"Hey!" I yelled and ran to the place where he vanished. "Come back here! I still have questions to ask you! Who am I?! What am I?! What is this place?!" No one answered me. No one.
I clenched my fists in anger. Nothing makes sense anymore. Nothing.
As I stood there, something blazing red appeared beneath my feet. Fire.
I screamed and tried to scramble away, but a chain was holding my feet firmly to the ground. I bent down as tried to pull the chains free, but to no avail.
"Help!" I screamed as more flames appeared. They seem to just burst out from the ground. "Anyone! Please help me!" No one came though. I began to cough as the smoke surrounded me.
At the last second, I saw a ball of fire hauling towards me.
"Nooooo!!!!!!!"
I screamed and my eyes snapped awake.
"You're awake now, huh?" a cold monotone voice said boredly from my right. I sat up and a sudden flare of pain exploded in my head.
"Ow!" I cried out and my hands flew up to my forehead. Levi glared at me.
"It was your fault," he blamed. "If you didn't have such a blabber mouth this wouldn't have had happened."
I glared at him and sneered.
"Right," I retorted back. "And if you weren't so lame I wouldn't have had said anything." Levi's eyes ignited in flames.
"What did you just say, brat?" he asked dangerously. I smirked and repeated what I said,"I said," I. Wouldn't. Have. Had. Siad. Anything. If. You. Weren't. So. Lame.'"
That was Levi's last straw. He lunged for me, but before he could even touch me, the door burst open and Hanji came in with a huge retarded smile plastered on her face. Levi pulled back on the last second. Never mind. I'll keep Hanji alive. Her horrible timing can save lives.
"Yo, Father and Daughter!" Hanji chirped as she clapped her hands happily. "A bonding moment I believe?"
Levi glared at her. "What are you doing here, four-eyes?" he demanded coldly.
"The usual!" Hanji replied. "To annoy you of course! What else?! I'm bored!"
Okay, the crazy woman can be cool sometimes.
Hanji ran to Levi and flung her hands around him.
"You're still a fun-sized package, Levi!" she laughed.
"Gurt offa meh!" Levi's angry words were muffled by Hanji.
Hanji pulled back and smiled triumphantly. In her hands she held a white piece of cloth. The color drained from Levi's face.
"Give... back... my... cravat..." he said slowly and took a step towards Hanji.
"Nope! Not until I see you give Caitlyn a kiss on the lips! And I need to be there to see it!" Hanji said playfully and ran out the door. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the end of the world.
Levi ran out the door, chasing Hanji an yelling cuss words that would of earned me a month of mouth washing.
I sighed and laid back down in my bed and stared out the window. It was nighttime and the stars and moon were up and twinkling about.
I reached out a hand as if I wanted to touch the sky and whispered,"Who am I? Where do I belong? Why do I exist?" No one answered, but for a a second there, I thought I saw that man from my dreams again. He smiled and disappeared into the darkness.
"I wonder who he is as well," I said and stared at the moon. Somewhere in my mind, a tiny voice told me that I can trust this guy. Whoever he is, he is the last hope to the survival of the Two Dimensions.
