"What time do you call this?"
Kurt looked up and stared blankly at his roommate, her hand perched on her hips and her eyes wide as if she couldn't believe the sight of him.
Eye flickering to the clock on the wall, Kurt finally spoke, "Half two?"
"In the morning!" The woman shrieked, marching towards Kurt whilst continuing her rant, "This is Rachel's thing! You better not be turning into a- oh. Hello."
Blaine, who had been stood just behind the door at least had the decency to look apologetic as Kurt's roommate came to an abrupt stop when she noticed him, "Hi, I'm Blaine."
The woman looked down at Blaine's outstretched hand, back to Blaine's face, and then back to his hand, and smiled, apparently deeming him acceptable as she clasped her hand in his, "Kirsty."
Kurt winced when Kirsty's eyes flickered over to his, a knowing smile on her lips.
"And how do we know Blaine?"
"We literally just met." Blaine began.
"Well, re-met." Kurt added.
"Right, we knew each other in high school."
"Well, I wouldn't say knew each other."
"Yeah, we only spoke once or twice."
Kurt nodded, "More like acquaintances."
"Are you two going to finish each other's sentences like that all night?" Kirsty grinned when both boys blushed, Kurt clearing his throat and leading Blaine inside the apartment.
"We, uh, I was just bringing Blaine back to-" Kurt stopped, glancing sideways to Blaine who was looking around their apartment, "We're going to go to my room, shout if you need us."
And then without thinking, Kurt had grabbed Blaine by the hand and dragged the boy into the hall and into his room.
Kurt muttered about Blaine needing to ignore the mess and Blaine laughed, commenting on the fact that he couldn't ignore something if there wasn't anything to ignore and just like that, all sense of awkwardness fell from the air and it was just Kurt and Blaine again.
"I like your room." Blaine smiled, "I like your whole apartment, actually. I wish mine looked like this."
"I doubt yours is any worse."
"Well, for a start it's tiny- I don't have a roommate." Blaine shrugged, "Anyway, is it alright if I use the bathroom?"
"Yeah, of course. It's back through the hall and the first door to your left."
Kurt watched Blaine mutter a quiet thank you before leaving the room. Kurt turned to face his bed, stepping towards it and scuffing his feet on his carpet before turning around and perching on the edge.
He sat there for a few seconds before deciding he looked too awkward and that would make Blaine feel awkward. He stood up and pottered around his room, lifting things from his desk and placing them in different places before arranging them back to the way they were.
Kurt got so caught up in rearranging his desk that he didn't notice Blaine re-enter the room and smile to himself at the sight of Kurt.
A hand was placed on his shoulder and Kurt jumped, spinning around and accidentally slapping his hand to Blaine's stomach in the process, wincing at Blaine's quiet cry of shock.
"I'm so sorry!" Kurt rushed, rubbing his hand on Blaine's shoulder.
"It's alright, I'm fine." Blaine chuckled, "Just wasn't expecting that. Next time I'll alert my presence from further away so I have time to run."
Blaine's wide eyes creased when he smile at Kurt's giggle before both boys fell silent again, sighing simultaneously and falling into fits of laughter.
I'm dead. I don't even ship klaine that much anymore so their characters are so inaccurate. I'm literally just imagining my current otp in this situation and writing Blaine and Kurt instead 😂
