Bouncing Right Along

Previously:
My time on the Planet of the Moon was short lived after that. The Bloodmoon pack was fortunately good friends with the River-moon pack so I was able to see Alexia before I left the planet. I made friends like she asked with Eruben, Rolf and surprisingly Fang. Alpha Coleson and Alpha Diona and I got on a first name basis as well. I was only there for a few more months after that before Toll came with his bus and we left the solar system entirely.

No matter what I did or where I went, I couldn't get those prophesy words out of my head. I knew running from it would be a bad idea but I also knew that I had no idea how to start it. Rushing it was an even worse idea too, since I heard about the horrible story in new Rome all those centuries ago. The thing is, nothing in the prophesy made any sense.

Okay, I may be exaggerating when I said that because there were two lines out of the seven that gave me a little bit of clues and the very last one was so plain obvious that I had come to think of it as a given.

"Free the one for which you care,
Her essence found at home,
Together enlisted against Despair.
Through the universe friends all seek,
And the destination seems quite bleak.
Golden Shadow, demigods and wolf track your travels,
To save the universe of its troubles,"

I muttered the prophesy under my breath, trying to figure it out as I sat on my island meditating. The new planet I was on was all water until I came. Before I created the small island I was on now, still waters and absolute silence plagued the planet. No noise but for me and the soft sounds of the water playing with the rock I was on. Once I made the island, which was just a large rock I pulled from the floor of the sea with water, was the sound of the water lapping against the rock. (AN: Does this paragraph seem hard to read to any of you?)

I saw it as a training exercise; my job was to see how long I could keep it floating on the surface. For the first few months, I was having trouble keeping it up for more than a day. By the time I could keep it up for a month, I was so done with swimming.

No intelligent life forms existed on this planet that I had seen so far. Once the normal sea creatures; sharks, fish, whales, etc. I am actually glad no one is on this planet, I've felt like I needed to be isolated for a while.

There was a few times I found myself talking to some nonexistent being. It wasn't me and I am not talking to myself. I know that for sure since I once called it Isi. Funny thing is, I think I got responses. when I told about my trials with Annabeth and the campers then about missing my families, a cool breeze brushed my cheek as if to comfort me. Then with my problems with the prophesy about my mate and the new war back home, I could practically feel the frustration and confusion ebbing off the waves that crashed against my rock. When I spoke of my experience with Calem and Dylan, a storm suddenly started around me, somehow leaving me completely alone and unharmed. Yet at the same time, I felt warm and fuzzy inside.

If I didn't know any better, I would have thought the planet was a living being. Of course that couldn't be...right?

But then I heard stories from the fish and whales of strange natural phenomenons that seem to happen out of nowhere to keep the sea creatures safe from invaders.

Whirlpools sinking ships that came through space and space aliens that could live underwater. One time an earthquake caused an insane killer shark to knock into the rocks beneath the waves, saving the rest of the inhabitants from a bloody, dishonorable death.

Come to think of it, I had to tell Toll to come to this planet before he passed it. Even then he refused to let the bus float softly on the waves. Instead he went as close to the water as he dared, causeing me to have to jump. That's alright though, I did not mind.

Now that I had greater strength and control over my powers with water, I tested and worked on my newer powers and tried figuring out the power this planet gave to me.

I turned into a wolf and ran through the water. I didn't run on top because that would be too easy. I made it so I only had it covering my feet and ran. The resistance from the water built up my muscles and endurance. To make sure I did not get lost from my floating rock, which was now my home on this watery planet, I made smaller rocks pop up and leave a trail so I could find my way. Like Hansel and Gretel. Even though I hardly used them with my sense of direction from Hermes' blessing.

Then I worked on the same exercise with my giant form and my normal, demigod form.

After that, I meditated and worked on fire travel. The problem I figured out with that is that I can only travel that way if there is either a flame or fire place at my destination. Kind of like Floo travel in the Harry Potter series. Except I can travel even when there is only a small candle aflame. I haven't traveled off world as of yet. I'm too afraid of getting split into parts or turned into a flame that never changed me back to my solid form.

I was running in my wolf form on the water when I suddenly hard a voice in my head.

Hello

"What the-" I shouted, skidding to a stop before realizing that I was supposedly going fast enough to keep myself afloat so I immediately sunk into the water. I was startled so much by the sudden immersion, that I stayed there frozen in shock.

I am dreadfully sorry, I did not meant to startle you, the voice said.

I was still underwater and the nearby fish and one shark (all of whom I have made good friends with) swam as fast as they could to me to see if I was alright.

"I am alright guys, some voice just scared me that's all," I reassured them. They had no idea what I was talking about but they sighed in relief and left again anyways. I then spoke in my head so I did not freak out the fish even more. Who are you and what are you doing in my head?

I am Isi, Perseus, the voice answered, and here I thought you were smart.

Weeks after Isi called me stupid, she and I worked together in trying to figure out my next power. We tried ice powers, since she was a full on water blob. Then we tried thunderstorms and then earth powers. Oh, did I mention that Isi was the actual planet? Yeah, well she is. She found it rather funny that I was so shocked when I finally figured it out and did not breathe for an entire ten minutes.

"Stop, laughing, it's not funny!" I had shouted aloud. "I could have died!" I was above on the surface now, on my rock.

But you didn't, Isi was still laughing, the water waving to the rhythm of her voice in my head.

I grumbled to myself about annoying-teasing-planets and new-friends-that-just-see-everything-as-funny. To which she laughed even harder, causing my rock island to bounce around on the water like a boat.

"Hey, stop that, you'll make me seasick," I said, gripping my rock for dear life.

Really? Isi sounded skeptical Son of a sea god?

I hesitated, caught in a trap. "...Yes?" I said.

That sounded like a question, Isi said flatly.

"Just stop trying to knock me into the water!" I yelled, frustrated.

There were a few more chuckles before she calmed down, though I could still feel her amusement through our mental link.

After that we became good friends and she started helping me in my training and my search for my power. She would shout encouragements like, "Great job, Perseus! Don't forget to reach down to touch your toes-if you can even see them." Yeah, she found out I was centuries years old and she started to tease me about that.

"Need some therapy for those joints, Perseus?"

"How about some prunes, old man?"

Suddenly, I heard Isi shout something else, Perseus, don't you think that because I am an actual living being and not an ordinary planet, I won't have the same affect as the other places you've been to?"

I sat back, carefully pondering the point she'd just made. "That would make sense," I said slowly. I shrugged. "Well, I guess there's no sense in trying to figure that out now. It is time to move on to a more challenging rock than my little island." Isi chuckled and I frantically gripped the rock. "Maybe one that won't move as much," I muttered. I could keep this rock up so well, I could do it in my sleep. It was definitely time for another-bigger- rock.

Isi laughed harder and I grit my teeth together, focusing on finding a larger rock on the ocean floor using the water around them.

Finally I found one and I worked on pulling it to the surface. I could feel Isi helping and I stopped. "Isi, how will I get better if you coddle me?" I scolded.

Sorry, she said sheepishly, allowing me to take full control over the water around the rock.

It started out much the same as my smaller rock. I could only keep it up for a day before I grew too exhausted to continue. Where as my previous island was around the size of a small house, maybe a cabin, this mountain was the size of a boat around the size of the Titanic.

Once I got as good with keeping this one up as long and as well as the smaller rock, I worked on my range. I got on my smaller rock and made it move like a mother boat. Speeding as far as I could, I kept it afloat along with myself, making sure I did not waver in my concentration.

I had finally mastered my water powers, my endurance and strength now at inhuman levels.

One day after a rigorous training exercise and halfway from meditation to free time, I slowly realized that this planet has taught me everything I needed to know. "It's tome for me to move on," I muttered.

You're leaving me? Isi asked sadly.

"It's alright, sis, we'll see each other again someday, maybe sooner than you think," I assured her. Over my time here, we had come to see each other as siblings, we grew close through all our talks and training. Even she trained.

We had figured out that she could leave her solar system and go to another one. Without worry for the atmosphere and distance from the sun. I would ask her to come with me but my next planet is rather too small for her to orbit around safely.

But who will scold the dolphins for me when they start bothering the sharks and fish? Isi asked teasingly, obviously feeling better after my revelation.

"Ask Nemo," I said, smiling. "He's more than capable."

Isi started laughing again and I laughed with her. I had named an orphaned clown fish Nemo some time back and her grew up to be a force to be reckoned with. No one dared argue with him. He learned from the best. No that was not Isi, it was me, albeit, Isi is rather stubborn.

"I'm in luck," I realized, looking up at the sky to see the familiar silver bus. "Toll is coming today."

Fare thee well, Fire Lord, Isi said solemnly. I wish your prediction to be true.

I spent the next several centuries bouncing back and forth between planets. The most recent planet was a bird planet. On which I am now a wanted red-tailed hawk for supposedly killing the bird king.

I promise it was not me. The birds on that planet are extremely superstitious and -coincidentally (unless it was a Dorthy of Oz thing)- the bird king died on the same day I arrived.

Until Toll came back to pick me up, I was stuck there so I hid as best I could until he came.

When he did, I did a bee-line for the bus and hid behind Toll's seat, urging Toll to take off.

"What'd you do now, Fire Lord?" Toll smirked as I plucked feathers and leaves out of my hair.

"I supposedly killed the king," I said casually. "It was really just old age, the guy was already on his death bed before I even got there."

"The bird people are veritably superstitious," Toll said, nodding in understanding.

"Yep," I said in agreement. "I'm wanted now."

"Of course you are," Toll shook his head in amusement. "Where to now?"

All amusement left my expression. I thought about Pomeacus, the home of the Primordials but I decided against it. It was not quite time yet. "Your next stop will be fine," was all I said.

"You sure?" Toll asked. "Even for you it's extreme. Magmatus is a lava planet. Quite the opposite of your past planets. One more thing, were you not a son of a sea god?"

"If you remember," I said, holding up a finger with a smug look on my face. "I am also a son of a fire goddess."

"What ever man, it's your funeral," Toll said, chuckling softly.

"Can you see if you can drop me off by the hottest part of the planet?" I asked.

"You truly are insane," Toll said in disbelief.

"Nah, I just like to test my limits," I said, eagerly sitting forward in my seat as I saw the red-lava planet up ahead.

"There is such a thing as too much at once, Fire Lord," Toll said warningly.

"What could possibly go wrong?" I asked, grabbing my bag and heading to the door as the bus came to a stop.

"That's what you said before planet Aviary," he said flatly.

"I survived didn't I?" I said cheerfully.

"Yeah, but you are wanted now," Toll said, looking at me like I'm crazy.

I did a little half smirk. "Wish me luck!"

🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥

"Get me out of here!" I coughed as I stumbled onto the sorely missed silver bus.

"Are you wanted again?" Toll asked, talking off into the cold space above. The power I gained from this was-wait for it- ice.

Biggest oxymoron I've ever seen, second only to an ant protecting a giant.

"No, but they are kinda mad that their dinner keeps evading them," I told him, dusting off the dust on my clothes.

Toll laughed as he set course for the next planet.

"Where's the next stop, Toll?" I asked curiously.

"A planet full of predators," he answered. "Called Depredate."

"Did the gods visit this one?" I asked, recognizing the latin term for ravage.

"Yes and speaking of them, Pomeacus is next on the list," he answered.

I was silent for a bit, letting that news sink in.

"Fire Lord, some people have been asking for you," Toll said hesitantly.

"Are they the bird people?"

"No, they are all sorts of people," Toll said. "There are demigods, a G-golden Ninja and a werewolf-female with a mate." He stuttered on the Golden Ninja one understandably, most are afraid of them.

I smiled to myself. "If you see them again, send them to Pomeacus," I told him. "I will meet them there."

"Alright, Fire Lord," Toll said as we came to a stop at Depredate. "I'll see you then, maybe."

"Your lack of faith is disturbing," I said, looking at him weird.

"I have a right and you know it," Toll said defensively. "Every time I see you now, you are either running from something or hurting yourself as you climb on the bus."

I winced, remembering my failed jump from my rock on Isi. I think I still have the bump.

As I stepped down from the bus, waving good bye to Toll, my mind went back to the prophesy. I could see that part of it already came true. I suppose that means that it is time for me to ready myself to go to Pomeacus.

Golden Shadow, demigod and wolf track your travels.
