Chapter 2- The Deep Woods

I wake up, trying to catch my breath covered in a cold sweat from a nightmare. Looking around, the treehouse was very empty. Our bags were gone, Oliver wasn't here around. It felt unnaturally cold, so I reached for a blanket that was just there a moment ago to find it... gone? What's happening? Quietly, I get up from my spot on the floor and walk towards the entrance of the treehouse.

The wind is howling in the distance, and the moon is bright and full. "Man what a way to scare someone." I mumble to myself, hoping it was a prank, "Oliver?" No response.

"Oliver?!" I shout, maybe he didn't hear me. No response.

"Oliver!" No response.

The cold getting to me, I start shivering. I give up on finding Oliver, and decide to try to find my phone. Maybe he went out for a walk or something. Searching for my phone in the treehouse, though it wasn't much of search. Did I lose it? I climb down, out of the treehouse, and realize I can't hear anything. The whole place is silent, no moment other than mine. I walk towards where there was supposed to be a fire, and instead of the empty stones and ashes, all that's there is a box with a note ontop.
The note seems to warn me, Leave before your life is ruined.
I wonder what that could be about?

I look over at that same place where I saw the shadowy figure in the tree, and see that same figure there. I walk closer towards it curiously and it speaks.
Go
Away

Then I wake up, in a even colder sweat. I scream. The cold is very noticeable, though I'm covered in my blanket, and it's hard to comprehend what happened. I hear thumping coming up the ladder, soon seeing it's Oliver.

"Eve, are you o-" I didn't let him finish.

"I saw something, and it said for us to go away and leave, and there was a note that said leave before your life is ruined, and I am super scared, we need to leave!" My voice shaking.

He looks at me, confusion covers his face, then he sighs, "Eve really? You just woke up and you are trying to scare me with your stories?"

Why is he annoyed? It could be a message, we shouldn't over look it.
He starts to leave the tree house but I stop him.

"Oliver I am not kidding anymore! This could mean something we shouldn't over look it!" I shout.
He cringes, and I start to feel bad, remembering he doesn't like loud noises.

He is looking at me with a disappointing look and says "Look... it was probably a dream that meant nothing, but if you still feel strongly about leaving I will leave this choice up to you." but before I could say anything he leaves the tree house. I decide to go follow him out the tree house, for some breakfast.
Oliver points me to the direction of the food and I go and grab it. I ate the chopped up fruit in silence, while Oliver stares at the fire. I decide to break the awkward silence, "Let's go hiking."

He shrugs his shoulders "Will that make you feel better?" He asked.

While he starts packing a small bag, I respond, "Yes, it will help me clear my mind and mabye it was," I pause "Just a dream..."

Oliver started talking again, "Well we could go on the trail on the edge of the deep woods if you want."

"Yea that fine. Lead the way."

On the way there I couldn't help thinking about if I wasn't doing what was right. Should I have left the camp already? Or not?

A Few hours Later

I cover up with my coat and look up at the sky, noticing that the sky is very foggy, with a subtle strange feeling creeping up my back.

Buzz buzz
A- Babe be safe it's supposed to be really cold today
Me- It's ok babe. I will be careful
A- Love you.
Me- Love you too.

I sigh at his cuteness and close my phone. Sinse we noticed the fog we earlier, we decided to walk back to camp awhile ago. We were nowhere close. Oliver start walking a little faster and say "Hey we need to get a little more pep in our step, the weather isn't looking to good."

I start walking faster, passing him, "Yea I noticed, do you think there will be a storm coming?"

He falls behind and kinda shouts "Probably a snowstorm but the problem is we would freeze before we make it back to camp, or we could make a campfire to warm up." he then pauses and looks around.

I pause and also look around, and see that same shadow in the trees. This time I see a shadowy girl and she is seems to be looking at me. Almost like she is trying to say something but can't... and then a sharp pain in my head.
Oliver turns to ask, "What's caught your attent-"
A huge headache with a pinge of a memories. I fall on the floor, in a daze. It's a memory of Oliver and I at camp. We are playing hide and seek and suddenly he grabs something. I don't remeber what he grabbed but he wasn't supposed to take it with him.

"Eve look what I found!" He say, beaming with pride, before shoving a small object infront of me.

"What is it?" I asked.

"It's a old stuffed bunny, it's so cute!" He looks at it for a minute, before he gives it to me and I keep it... but it used to be warm and welcoming, but it now terrific and dangerous.
Then the memory vanished.

I wake up, seeing Oliver carriaging me and running. During my little daze I noticed that the storm has started.

"Oliver where are we?" I say quietly, almost like a mumble.

In his panic he almost dropped me. What's up with him? I can tell he is shaking pretty badly. What happend?

He then says in a scared voice, trying to hide his fear, "sSomewhere in the woods. I thought I followed the trail perfectly."

I look from side to side and notice it is heavly snowing, and I have no idea where we are. We have never been in this part of the woods.

He slowly sets me down in the snow and says " I don't know where we are but- please don't pass out again and start mumbling creepy stuff."

"What are you talking about I don't remember any of that."

He sighs "Look this is not the right time to talk about this we need firewood, I will go out and get it, just stay here." He walks away as I nod.

All I remember is that memory. I wonder if it means something.
