The Big Man That Likes The Bee
"What's your name?" A voice asked from above.
Tubbo rubbed his eyes and grumbled slightly.
"Tubbo," Tubbo replied, this was probably just another part of his odd dream.
"I'm Tommy!" The voice replied.
He stuck his head over the side of the top bunk and grinned.
Tubbo yawned.
"What time is it?" Tubbo asked turning on his side, facing towards the center of the room.
"5 som'in'," Tommy replied looking up to look at the center of the room, his head disappearing for a moment before he returned to look at Tubbo.
"Oh, thanks for moving the chair, it being there brought back... Bad memories," Tommy thanked, his hand extended down to Tubbo.
"You're welcome!" Tubbo replied as energetic as he could in his half-asleep state.
He reached up and they locked hands. Or Tubbo thought they had for a moment before Tubbo's hand was falling.
Tubbo jolted awake with a soft yelp, almost falling off of the bed.
He stood up and quickly looked to the top bunk, no one.
"Wow, what a weird dream," Tubbo whispered softly.
"Speaking of dream..." Tubbo hummed glancing over at the door.
He shuffled around, eventually finding his phone on the top bunk. Odd place considering he hadn't gone up to the top bunk but he probably just absent-mindedly placed it up there. It seems like something he might do.
So he shrugged it off. First thing he noticed, the time; 5:06.
Huh... His dream was right, it was 5 something.
Next, the charge; 13%.
Tubbo winced and raced out of the room and downstairs to find his charger.
A still very tired Dream smiled up at Tubbo.
"You know, you don't have school yet," Dream teased.
Tubbo glared at his older brother before plugging his phone in.
"You're awake," Tubbo commented half sarcastically.
"You too," Dream retorted with a yawn.
He thought he heard a soft laugh from a foot to his left but there was no one there. He dismisses it and the odd feeling that came with it and turned to face Dream.
For the briefest of moments, in the dusty, now uncovered, mirror above the fireplace, Tubbo could have sworn he saw Tommy from his dream grinning wide at him.
But that's crazy. And with a blink, he was gone.
"We doing anything for breakfast?" Tubbo asked combing through his hair with his fingers.
"Dunno, we need to go sho-" Dream was cut off by the doorbell ringing, "-pping."
Dream furrowed his brow before standing up.
The brothers walked to the door and opened it just in time to see a boy in a black and red hoodie rush back down the sidewalk to a boy in a light blue hoodie and beanie.
At their feet was a box of, what appeared to be, assorted muffins.
Dream scooped it up while Tubbo called out, "thank you!"
The boy in black looked back and waved cheerfully before the duo rushed across the street and into the house across the way.
"They seem nice!" Tubbo chirped as Dream opened the box and looked inside.
Sure enough, the container was filled with muffins, each labeled delicately with a piece of paper underneath them. Taped to the bottom of the lid was a note.
It read;
"Hi, new neighbors! My name is BadBoyHalo, but you can call me Bad! I've been taking care of the place in its vacancy, though I never had a key so apologies if it's a little dusty inside. If you have any questions or need anything I live right across the street! I hope you like the muffins I made you! I don't know what you like so I just made you all of what I know how to. I hope I'll see you soon!
~BadBoyHalo
Amd Skeppy 2!"
"Well, I guess that settles the breakfast debacle," Dream joked as they stepped back inside.
Tubbo sat beside the mirror, taking a damp cloth to it to get the dust and grime off while Dream munched on one of the muffins.
Tubbo glanced up just in time to see Tommy place a muffin slightly beside Tubbo to his right.
Tubbo spun around. Again there was no one but there was a stray muffin sitting there.
Tubbo picked it up and, although cautiously, he began eating it.
He turned to face the mirror again. Occasionally looking up to see if Tommy was there again.
He wasn't.
At least not until his 5th attempt when he had started cleaning again.
He looked up and froze. In the still dusty part a little too high for him to reach he could just barely see a hand wiping away at the dust with a washcloth.
Tubbo cleared his throat and in the reflection, he saw Tommy's face peer back at him.
"What do you like to do?" Tubbo whispered, glancing in the mirror to see where Dream was.
"I like to crochet! And game, gaming's the best!" Tommy replied enthusiastically.
"What's your favorite animal?" Tommy asked.
"I like bees," Tubbo replied smiling.
Tommy let out a small gasp before saying, "Dad had a garden that grew potatoes and carrots and flowers! There used to be swarms of bees who loved our flower section!" Tommy laughed, "man, I loved the garden but I'm terrified of bees and wasps."
He glanced at Dream in the mirror, preoccupied with a phone call.
Huh...
"Really? You ever play in the garden?" Tubbo asked grinning.
"Nah, the bees were enough to keep me away. But Techno had a weird obsession with potatoes and he was constantly having to be dragged out of the garden as to not ruin the crops," Tommy chuckled.
"Sounds like a grand... Ol'... Time..." Tubbo replied slowing down when he noticed the aggressive-looking, pink-haired boy hovering menacingly over his older brother.
Tommy noticed this and looked backward at the guy.
"Aye! Techno leave him alone!" Tommy yelled at the pink-haired guy.
It looked like he responded but Tubbo couldn't be too sure. Tommy rolled his eyes and he disappeared again. But he could still hear him say, "come on Tubbo, let's go back to my room. I call the top bunk!"
Tubbo turned and walked to his phone.
He grabbed his phone and charger before walking back up to, supposedly, Tommy's room. As he passed by the middle room he swears he hears the soft melody of a guitar. This is getting weird!
Tubbo walked in and sat on the bottom bunk, glancing at the door nervously.
"What took you so long?" Tommy laughed from up above.
"Your house is confusing," Tubbo lied.
"Hmmm.. I guess.." Tommy hummed.
The soft creaking of the bed frame above Tubbo told him his daydream, apparition, friend thing, was shifting to get more comfortable on the top bunk.
"What's got you so nervous Bee boy?" Tommy asked the soft clacking and pop of something in the thing's mouth told a story of gum being bounced around on the inside of a mouth.
For some reason, Tubbo wanted to know if he could have some too.
"What's your last name?" Tommy asked.
"Don' really have one," Tubbo replied, wincing at the obvious subtlety.
The thing's an imaginary friend for your new life! Stop acting like you need to hide from it!
"What about you?" Tubbo asked, finally deciding to lay down, staring up at what might have been his back.
"Watson! Tommy Innit Watson!" Tommy declared, proud.
"Kinda on the nose, Innit?" Tubbo teased, joking with his new friend.
"What?! No, it ain't," Tommy replied back his voice growing with more cheer and irritation as the conversation grew.
Tubbo laughed at the pun he made and the response he got.
"Why me?" Tubbo asked casually, rolling onto his side.
It sounded more depressing than it was meant to be now that he thinks about it.
"I like you.... Besides, you're the only b*tch here who ain't 2× my senior!" Tommy laughed.
Tubbo chuckled.
"I like you too..." Tubbo declared before finding himself drifting off again.
Tommy smiled and peered over the side of the bunk. His new friend curled up above the blankets, slightly shivering.
Tommy slipped off the bunk, picked up his phone and charger, plugged the port into an outlet, and plugged the phone in before chucking the blanket from the top bunk over Tubbo.
"Tommy?!" Phil called from somewhere.
"Yeah yeah, coming!" Tommy replied.
He went to leave, but just before he did he glanced at his crocheting supplies.
Hmm...
Maybe....!
