Chapter 3 - Magic Training

The two Fernandes siblings had been determined to become strong like their parents so they've been training everyday for the past two weeks. Erza had the two work on their mental state first. The two children would sit in Erza's office, where she could keep an eye on them, and meditate. "You'll need to connect your physical side with your spiritual side." Erza told them when they began the training. She promised them that after two weeks of working on the mental side, she would start working on the physical side.

Erza took a break from her paper work and her and Jellal took Riko and Takeshi outside, to the back of the guild. "Alright, we'll do some basic exercises." Erza said and the two kids nodded. "First, let's-"

"Erza!" Laxus's deep voice boomed from across the yard. It wasn't in a scary tone. He just wanted her attention. She knew why the blond was calling her so she excused herself and told Jellal to continue the training.

"Ok. While Mommy's working, let's do some pushups." Jellal said to his children. Pushups build strength in the arms and chest so they were necessary. Sit ups strengthen the abdomen. Jogging is also a good idea. If Riko and Takeshi do these exercises everyday, then they should have no problem with physical strength.

And that's exactly what they did. For the next month, the children worked themselves tirelessly throughout the day working out and exercising. They only stopped for meals or a bathroom break. Everyone in the guild noticed the kids' determination. Natsu, being the power-hungry and goofy guy he was, asked if he could tag alone with the siblings. "C'mon, it'll be fun and I can teach you guys a few things." He said, grinning. Gray, not wanting to be shown out by Natsu, went as well. "That fire breather can't teach you guys anything except how to inhale a full meal in under a minute. I'm coming too."

Riko and Takeshi enjoyed their training with Natsu and Gray. Takeshi had started to grow visible muscles as well as Riko. Throughout the month, the siblings did not forget about their meditation either. They saved that for at night when they went home. They would spend an hour and a half meditating before going to bed. Commitment, devotion, and determination; they get those qualities from their parents.

"Daddy, we have to hurry! Takeshi has been training for a month already!" Tarou wined. As soon as he saw that Riko and Takeshi had been training, he wanted to learn magic too. He wanted the manly Take-Over Magic that his father used, but that magic is rare. Almost as rare as Dragon Slayer Magic. There aren't many creatures in the world that one can "take over." Takeshi got lucky by discovering the magic before Tarou did and having Dragon Slayers at his disposal.

Being Elfman's son, Tarou wanted magic that was extremely manly! Since Take-Over Magic wasn't an option, he drifted towards others forms of magic that would be powerful and make him look tough in the process. He flipped through picture after picture, but the little seven year old wasn't having any luck finding something that stood out.

After another day of still not knowing what magic he wanted, Tarou and his parents went home after dark. Evergreen tucked her sleepy son into bed and kissed him goodnight before leaving his room or as he called it, his "man cave."

"He still doesn't know?" Evergreen asked her husband after sliding into bed.

"No." Elfman replied with a heavy sigh. "He's really beaten up about it too."

Elfman and Evergreen felt bad for their son. They wanted him to learn magic, but they didn't simply want to force a certain magic on him. Tarou had the right to choose what type of magic he would weild for himself. And the sooner he started learning magic, the more powerful he would be in the long run. Of course, Elfman and Evergreen knew that this was also about surpassing Takeshi in points of manliness. Well, boys will be boys.

In the morning, Evergreen went to her son's room to wake him up so they could go to the guild. However, she wasn't prepared for what she saw. Or more like what she didn't see. "Elfman!" She shouted. He was there in an instant and saw what she saw.

"Erza!" Once she arrived at Fairy Tail, the Fairy Mage went straight to the back and pounded her fist on the door to Erza's office which was locked. "Erza, open up!" She did nonstop pounding which annoyed some members, but Evergreen didn't care. This was an emergency!

"What is it?" Erza snapped as she opened the door. The constant pounding was interrupting her train of thought. She had still been searching for Makarov which was absolutely top secret by the way. Erza hadn't even told Jellal; only Laxus. It was his grandfather after all.

"Erza, you have to help me!" Evergreen pleaded. Erza's facial expression changed when she heard the tone of Evergreen's voice. It was filled with desperation and anxiety. "What's the matter?" Erza asked, stepping aside so Evergreen could enter. She walked in just enough for Erza to close the door then took a deep breath in an attempt to calm herself.

"I-It's Tarou." She stuttered.

Erza nodded and stepped closer. "What's wrong with him? Is he sick?"

"No," Evergreen shook her head and stared at the floor. "he's missing."
