Chapter 15

*Marinette's POV*

"Tikki!" Marinette said happily. "Emma and Louis are coming today!" Marinette was excited, her kids were coming home after two weeks.

"That's great, Marinette!" Tikki chirped back. "I'm going to go get the mail," Marinette said, going outside. She hummed as she walked toward her mailbox, opening it.

Her humming stopped when she looked at what the letter said.

"Dear Ms. Marinette Dupain-Cheng,
I hope this letter finds you in good health. The Gabriel company would like to have you as one of our top designers. You would be earning more than what you have now. You'd have a salary of at least 60,000 a year. We hope you accept this offer by the end of the week.

Sincerely,

The Gabriel Company"

Marinette stood still, just staring at the letter. She walked back inside with a confused expression on her face.

"What is it, Marinette?" Tikki's sweet voice asked her. "The Gabriel company wants to hire me," Marinette said with a whisper.

"Isn't that great then?" asked Tikki, "You'd get more money than you do now. You'd also get to create whatever you wanted!"

"Yes..." Marinette said. "But, A-Adrien's father is the owner of that company."

"And?" Tikki said. "Adrien never goes to that company. You wouldn't ever see him there."

"That's true..." Marinette said. "Should I take it?"

"Yes!" Tikki replied cheerily.

"Alright then, Tikki," Marinette said, pulling out a piece of paper, writing down her answer. She put the paper in the envelope, closing it.

She walked back outside, placing the sealed envelope into the mailbox. Marinette walked back inside with a smile.  "Thanks for telling me to accept it, Tikki."

"You're welcome!" Tikki replied.

Marinette went to grab some cookies from her oven, placing them on the counter. "Get one Tikki, the rest are for Emma, Louis, and I. If there are leftovers you can get some."

Tikki flew over and grabbed a cookie, taking a small bite. "Thank you, Marinette."

"No, thank you, Tikki," Marinette said. "I don't know what I could do without you."

*Lila's POV*

Lila hummed as she walked toward Adrien's house. She bought some croissants just for him, she heard he liked croissants. Lila just hoped that what she heard was true.

She rang the doorbell, waiting for him to answer it. There was no answer. She rang it again.

The door opened and Lila's smile wavered. "Who are you?"

A black haired boy with blue eyes looked back at her. "I'm Louis Agreste," He explained. "Are you looking for Adrien Agreste, ma'am? He's my father."

Adrien Agreste his father? Lila thought. She had completely forgotten that he had any children.

Lila smiled a fake smile. "Yes, where is he?"

"He stayed up late last night, he's catching up on sleep."

"Well, can you give him these croissants?" Lila asked. "I freshly- baked them just for him."

"Sure," Louis said, taking the croissants from her.

"Tell him Lila Rossi said hi," She said.

"Alright," said Louis, closing the door.

Lila huffed as she walked away from the home. She wanted to give the croissants to Adrien Agreste, not his son. She had to find some other way to get him to like her.

*Louis's POV*

Louis walked away from the Lila woman, placing the croissants on the counter. His stomach growled and he looked at the croissants. It wouldn't hurt to eat one, he thought. Louis grabbed a croissant and bit into it, immediately spitting it out.

Freshly made? Louis thought. The croissants were days old, obviously, store bought.

Why did she lie? Louis thought, dumping the croissants into the trash can. Suddenly, it hit him. Does she actually... like... Dad?
