Cayde 6 pov.

As we flew through space I looked over to see the kid sleeping. I smiled and leaned back as hyperspace changed to black starry space. I grabbed the controls as I steered towards the planet. I turned on the communication and speak in my awesome way. "Hello this is Vanguard Cayde 6 requesting landing."

"Cayde?" I heard the annoyed voice of Ikora ask. "Your not suppose to be back for another 3 days." I smirked hearing the annoyance in her voice. "Why are you back already?"

"Well you know I just can't be away from you and Zavala I mean what other badas-" I caught myself seeing the kid still asleep. "Amazingly handsome hunter will be there to annoy you?" I asked as I got close to the tower.

"What happened?" Zavala asked coming on the headset a bit loudly making the kid stir a bit.

"Keep your voice down. And you'll see when I get to the tower okay?" I say as i was answered by silence.

"Get in here Cayde." Zavala said in his stoic voice.

"Alright be ready." I fly down to the tower and into the hanger where Holiday is waiting for me to land. She stood there with crossed arms and a glare. I set the ship down and shake the kid awake. "Hey kid were here." I say softly as I saw Zavala and Ikora walking to my ship a bit hurriedly. The kids eyes fluttered open and looked at me.

"Okay dad." He said in a tired voice stretching. I smiled at dad for some reason and unbuckled him. I then grabbed my chicken and started walked off the ship.

"Now I'll call you down. Just stay here so I can prepare my family okay?" Nathen nodded staying seated in the chair. I got off the ship to be met with Zavala and Ikora  interrogating me.

"What happened Cayde? Did something happen on the planet you were sent to scout?" Zavala asked as Ikora glared at me. I saw Holiday looking at the ramp of my ship and I turned my gaze to see a head sticking out before disappearing.

"He probably got bored and half-assed the mission." Ikora said.

"Hey watch your language Ikora. There are kids around." I say with a smirk. I then saw Zavala holding a smile back. "What?"

"Thank you Cayde you just reminded me to tell you that Eris got you a gift." Ikora snickered a bit before she pulled out a box. I took it and opened it to reveal a shirt.

I started laughing hard at this and so did holiday because I think she knows why. I put on the shirt and smirked at them. "Oh this is a great gift Ikora but I think I one uped you. Nathen you can come out now." I look to my ship to see the kid walking down the ramp slowly and a bit scared. "It's alright they're not going to hurt you I promise." The kid nodded and rushed over and hid behind me.

"You took a kid from the planet?" Ikora asked with irritation. "Do you realize that you just kidnapped him?"

"I am in agreement with Ikora this is reckless." Zavala said with such sterness.

"I saved him Zavala. Not only that but he's a guardian. I saw him die and a ghost brought him back." I leaned in and whispered to him. "Besides he was being abused by his family." Zavala looked at me then to the kid who was poking his head out scared looking at the Awoken titan. He sighed and kneeled down.

"What is your name child?" Zavala asked as I did a little fist pump into the air. The kid looked out.

"Fu-" He stared to say before catching himself. "Nathen." He said shakily.

"What was that first part?" Holiday asked bewildered. I motioned her over and whispered into her ear.

"His previous family named him fucker." She looked pissed at that and glared at me. "I'm not kidding. The name change was my idea I promise." Her eyes softened. I turn back to see Zavala holding out a hand to Nathen who with shaky hands took it.

"I am Zavala. Leader of my Fireteam." He said kindly. "I am a Titan Vanguard. This is Ikora. She is a Warlock Vanguard. Cayde 6 you've met." He shook the hand of the kid who gave a smile.

"Yeah he's the coolest." Nathen said hugging my leg.

"Don't let Shaxx find him yet might try getting him into the crucible when he learns that Nathen here is a guardian." Said a creepy voice filled with sorrow. I looked over to see Eris walking over and looking at the kid.

"Dad!" Nathen said in a loud whisper pulling on my cape. I get down on my knee and let him whisper in my ear. "That girl with the green eyes is pretty." He must have said it a bit loudly because Eris let out a laugh. Nathen blushed a bit as I chuckled. "Is she your wife?" I choked there as everyone stayed silent waiting for my answer. Eris was about to protest when I answered for her.

"Yes totally." I say giving the biggest smirk to a pissed off Eris as Holiday was on the ground laughing her ass off. Zavala finally at long last seemed to get some humor. Ikora was shaking her head while Nathen was saying how lucky I was. Ah the naive young mind. "No kid I'm joking she's a great Guardian though." The kid looked sad. "So can he stay?" Zavala looked at Ikora who rolled her eyes.

"Yes but we need to figure out what type of guardian he is." Zavala said.

"I want to be like Dad." Nathen said happily.
