Healing

Izuku woke up to a cane jabbing his side. He glanced to the left, scowling at Recovery Girl.

"You should have called me when she woke up. Also, you might want to stop your clicking."

Izuku physically prevented the clicking from his new metal arm. It might have been Morse code, but Izuku wasn't awake enough to comprehend what it was saying.

Recovery girl just chuckled to herself, hobbling over to her desk.

Izuku sighed, looking down at the brunette cradled in his metal arm.

He sighed again, getting off the hospital bed and removing his hand from her hair.

Izuku picked up his new mask and slipped it on, becoming Mask once again.

The white haired teen glanced at his friend, before leaving the infirmary, clicking and whirring his arm to break it in.

Izuku opened the apartment door while spinning his wrist clockwise.

He changed into his workout clothes and went for a jog around campus. Izuku checked his messages as he ran.

One from Dadzawa, a few from Izumi (oops), a bunch from the class group chat, a few from Iida and Yayorozu..

Izuku responded to each of them, apologizing for not texting sooner, and assuring them that both he and Ochako were okay.

Izumi: can't believe you didn't let your own sister know you were ok. :(

Izuku: I was tired!! What happened at the USJ after I.. blacked out?

Izumi: mum and dad got there super late. Mr Aizawa kept your face hidden, so they don't know. He was piiissed at them.

Izuku sighed in relief at that. Sure, he'd almost died, but having those two on his case would be even worse.

Izuku: I'll talk to you later, I'm going to check on Ochako.

  Izumi: ;)))))))

  Izuku: >:/

Izuku entered the infirmary, nodding to Recovery Girl.

"You'd better not be injured again already boy!" She said.

"Came to see Ochako." He clicked.

The heroine let him off with a warning glare.

" 'Chako, you awake yet?" He clicked, pulling his mask off and setting it on the bedside table.

"Five more minutes..." She groaned, covering her eyes with her bandaged forearm.

"Come on, you've slept long enough. It's.." Izuku checked his wrist. "Already 11:30? Damn. Come ooonnnn lazy buttt."

Izuku prodded her face with his metallic fingers.

"Get up. Get up. Get up." He clicked with every poke.

"Your parents will be here in like.. an hour." He whispered, glancing at the brunettes phone.

"What!??!" She shrieked, sitting up as quickly as she could.

Ochako snatched her phone from Izuku.

  "They're coming here?? Why??"

  Izuku frowned.

"Their only daughter got hurt in a villain attack. Why do you think they're coming?" He clicked, raising an eyebrow.

Recovery Girl came over and scolded Izuku for agitating her patients, then healed Ochako, checking her over for any more injuries.

"You slept for at least 12 hours. You're completely recovered, but I demand an extra day of bed rest. No training, but you should be okay for light excersise." Recovery Girl said.

The heroine removed the cast and the bandages, letting the brunette flex her fingers. Recovery Girl checked over the where the injuries were before the recent healing.

Izuku closed the curtain and stepped away, letting Ochako change into her school uniform. Once she was done, the duo left the infirmary with Recovery Girl shouting after them.

"I don't want either of you in here for a month!!"

_______________

Izuku and Ochako walked down the street, approaching Ochako's run down apartment. Izuku had grabbed his half mask from his room, and was wearing it while they were out and about.

Ochako had texted her parents that she was heading home, so they wouldn't go to UA without her actually being there.

"Do you want to come inside? I'd rather spend time with you than be on my own, especially after.." Ochako asked.

Izuku nodded, following the brunette inside.

It wasn't his first time inside the tiny apartment, but he was still surprised by how run down it was.

Izuku took his mask off, setting it on the low coffee table, sitting down on the ratty sofa.

  "So, sports festival." Izuku clicked.

  Ochako's eyes lit up.

"Oh right, it's coming up soon!" She exclaimed.

Izuku exhaled in laughter, clicking out his plans.

"I'm going to spend the next few weeks training for the festival. Do you want to join me? We've got the week off school, then the two weeks of UA's training. If you want, you could come over and we could train in gym beta or something. I can show you a few moves, and some pressure points." He clicked out.

  Ochako grinned.

"There's normally the qualifier, the team match and then the tournament, right? We could work on some combo moves to use in the first two rounds, then do basic fight training for the tournament."

  Izuku nodded in agreement.

"I still need to break the new arm in properly, but I can do that this afternoon by spinning the joints around like pinwheels."

Izuku spun his arm at the elbow and wrist, the hand and forearm twisting in opposite directions. Ochako laughed at the spectacle.

"That could be a special move by itself!" She giggled.

Izuku huffed just as the front door opened, and a woman that looked just like Ochako came into the living room. Izuku snatched his half mask off of the table, slipping it onto his face.

"Ochako, you're okay!" The woman cried, crushing her daughter in a tight hug.

"I'm fine mum, Recovery Girl patched me up in no time!" Ochako said, patting her mother's back.

A tall, muscular man raced through a few seconds later, picking up the mother and daughter in an even bigger hug.

  "Ochakoooo!!!" He almost cried.

Izuku looked away, feeling like he was intruding.

"Are you okay??" The surprisingly soft-spoken giant asked.

" 'm fine dad. I'm a little squashed right now, but other than that? Good."

The family group hug broke up, and the adults seemed to notice Izuku for the first time.

"Ah, hello. Sorry 'bout that, not seen my girl for a while now!" The large man said.

"It's fine, I understand." Izuku clicked. A few seconds later he facepalmed. Ochako was giggling at him.

"Stop laughing! It's not funny! Stop!!"

  "I-it is! It's r-really funny!!" She said.

"Do you know sign?" He signed.

Both adults shook their heads when Ochako translated.

"I used to know a little.. but it was just the basics. I can't even remember most of it now though, sorry kid." Mr Uraraka said.

"Can you translate for me? If I need to talk?" He asked.

Ochako nodded, sitting down beside him.

"Sure! Mum, dad, this is Izuku. He's one of my classmates at UA." She explained.

"It's nice to meet you Izuku. Thank you for taking care of Ochako when she was injured." Mrs Uraraka said.

  Izuku nodded.

"It's alright, she's my friend, why wouldn't I want to help?" Ochako translated.

"How are you two doing after the attack?" Mr Uraraka asked.

"We're... Okay. It was scary at the time, but the heroes were there to protect us." Ochako said. Izuku nodded along with her sugar coating.

Izuku spent a while talking to the Urarakas, but had to leave when Aizawa messaged him.

"Sorry Ochako, Dadzawa wants me back at UA. I'll see you tomorrow?" He asked.

Ochako nodded, standing up with Izuku.

"He needs to go home for now." She explained to her parents.

Izuku bowed politely to the Urarakas, walking through the front door.

Ochako hugged him goodbye, waving as he walked down the street.

The smooth green half mask hid the light pink on his face, as well as the goofy smile.
