Over the next few weeks, the two had fun going out, working at live shows, and overall having a blast with each other. That is until someone decided he'd get involved. That someone being one William Morrissey, better none on TV as Big Cass. Him and Leah used to be together, but things hit a rough spot and they split, but he wanted her back and he didn't know that she and Brandon were a thing. As they were walking backstage to their locker room, Cass spotted them and cut them off in their paths.

Will: Hey Leah, who's this?

Leah played it off like they were just friends. Brandon played along.

Leah: Oh him? He's just a friend helping out.

Will processed the information and continued.

Will: Oh, ok. Well uh... can I ask you something?

Leah: Uhh... Yeah?

Will: Can we get back together?

Leah: Ugh!!! Will!!!

Will: Come on Le! I've been lonely without you and...

Leah: Like I haven't heard this all before. Listen, We. Are. Through. Ok? No more. I'm sorry.

Will's pleading face soon turned into anger. He stared at Brandon as he walked away.

Brandon: Well... That happened.

Leah: Yeah... Sorry about that. I forgot to tell you about Will, Didn't I?

Brandon: Nah, it's okay. I'll try and shake it off for my return match tonight.

Leah: Seeing you back in the ring is gonna feel...

Brandon: F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S?

Leah: How'd you know?

Brandon: I... admittedly... may or may not have downloaded your theme song on my phone.

Leah: Awww!!!!

She hugged him tightly.

Leah: I love you too!

Mullen: Hey... uh... Brandon?
Producer Todd Mullen walked up to the pair

Brandon: Yessir?

Mullen: You're on in five minutes.

Brandon: 10-4 thank you!

He turned back to Leah.

Brandon: Well, this is it.

Leah: Yep! I can't wait. I'm gonna have my eyes glued to the monitors back here for sure.

Brandon: You see that's the problem.

Leah stood puzzled.

Brandon: Because I want you out there with me.

Leah: R-Really!!?

Her face brightened up.

Brandon just stuck out his hand for her to grab as she did and they walked to gorilla. When they made it to gorilla, they were met by Becky preparing for a match before his.

Becky: Hey you two!! How are my two favorite lovebirds!

Brandon: Hey Becky! How are things!

Becky: Pretty good! Pretty good!

Brandon: That's awesome!

Brandon walked off to a corner of gorilla to prepare for the match. Rebecca and Leah talked with each other for a few minutes.

Becky: You two alright?

Leah: Yeah, like he said...

She sighed.

Leah: Everything's okay.

Rebecca noticed the lone look on her face.

Becky: Sanity still bugging y'all?

Leah: No... not anymore. It's worse.

Becky: I'm listening.

Leah: Well... Remember that guy I was dating before Brandon.

Becky: Will?

Leah: Yeah!

Becky: He's back isn't he?

Leah: mmhmm!

Becky: And he's trying to win you back somehow and take him away from you.

Leah; O... Kay... how do you...

Becky: Jess...

Leah: Of course.

The two shared a laugh and took a selfie before Leah and Brandon were cued to do their entrance. As the lights went down, crowd erupted as the two got ready to walk out at the drop of his theme. He soon burst through the curtain and walked out on stage as the crowd cheered louder. Leah even moonwalked about as he made his way down to the ring.

The crowd chanted "Power Down" as he did his signature thumbs up, thumbs down taunt. He was soaking this in from not being in the ring for so long. Chants of "Welcome Back" accompanied them as well.
That night, he was going up against a local competitor of the Orlando area. Brandon put on a clinic of a match before pining him for the 3-count.

Jojo: Here is your winner! Brandon Power...

Jojo suddenly stopped and the crowd booed as none other than Big Cass slid in and nailed Brandon with a big boot before laying waste to his adversary. He would've knocked him out if it wasn't for Leah who got in between them. She soon stood up and gave him a stern look before slapping him dead in the face, staring at him for a few moments, and walking briskly to the back being cheered on by the fans. Will turned around looking to continue his assault, be he was rocked with a Super-Kick sending him up and over the top rope stumbling on to the floor as the crowd cheered him on. Then to the surprise of everyone. Tommaso Ciampa's theme played as the NXT Champ made his way onto the stage. He said no words. All he did was point to Brandon, then Cass, then to himself as he raised the title up as the crowd cheered as the show came to an end.

Backstage, Leah didn't talk to anybody after the slap, not even Rebecca couldn't get a word out of her. She rushed to her locker room and quietly sobbed into her hands. As she was trying to calm down she heard a knock at the door.

Leah: Wh... Who is it?

She soon saw Brandon's light up jacket illuminate the dark space around the door frame.

Brandon: Hey... you alright? You... you looked pretty shaken up out there.
He let out a slight chuckle.

Leah got up and walked closer to him closing the gap between the two.

Leah: Yeah... I-I'm fine... I-I just...

She took a deep breath and tried to compose herself. Brandon stopped her.

Brandon: Shhhh... I get it. The whole Ex boyfriend vs. Current boyfriend thing got you up in knots and stuff, but I promise you. I will make him pay for any pain that he'd done to you. Because I lo...

Leah: I love you too!

The two shared a long deep hug in her locker room before he left her to get changed as he got changed as well. 30 minutes later, the two took a rental car to a hotel to rest up for Takeover which was on the horizon.
