Prompt/Story #1
So this is a crossover between Legends of Tomorrow and Gravity Falls that I started, but haven't finished. Here's the first chapter. I'll go over more details at the end.
┗(^0^)┓
It was a nice normal day... Or at least as normal as it could get in Gravity Falls, Oregon. The sun was shining down on the little down, casting bright, yellow rays all over. In the forest, the gnomes ran amuck, charging through the tall blades of grass and jumping from tree to tree. Up in the caves, the mulibear and manataurs were neck and neck as they challenged each other to a game of Go Fish. Down in the lake swam the fabulous merpeople, who had, like, seventeen hearts. The ghosts known as Ma and Pa floated around their little store, which had been shut down for several years. In the mansion on top of the highest hill, the North Wests sat in their kitchen, eating fancy rich people food. Everyone else was dining at Greasy's Diner.
Lazy Susan, a plump old lady with long white hair and one lazy eye constantly flopped shut, pranced around, happily serving her customers. Fiddleford McGucket, an insane little man who was secretly a genius with a tall hat and band aid in his long white beard chugged five mugs of coffee all at once. The two police officers were gathered together, excitedly feeding each other pancakes. (They were most likely gay with each other, but no one had ever confirmed anything.) Everyone in the town was a crazy goofball, except for Tad Strange, who was the only normal man in Gravity Falls... Which made him a little strange.
Gravity Falls was always full of chaos and nonsense. Wild creatures, like the unicorns that lived in the deepest parts of the forest. Dangerous monsters, like the dream demon Bill that had attacked their little town last summer. (Though no one ever mentioned that. In fact, Mayor Tyler had recently passed the Never Mind All That Act, meaning if someone ever asked about it, the town's folk were to say, "Never mind all that.")
So, it was really no surprise that this not so quaint little town drew the attention of a certain group of time traveling goofballs. This group, of course, was called the Legends. The team traveled through time (and sometimes space) in their time ship -- the Waverider. It was here that the Legends discovered the strange little town of Gravity Falls.
An alert went of, bringing the Legends to the bridge. The captain, a blonde women named Sara Lance, leaned on the center console, looking up at the ceiling, as she spoke to the ship's AI. "Gideon, what've we got?"
An image of Gravity Falls appeared before the team. "A small town in Oregon has an astonishing amount of supernatural activity."
"Heh, astonishing," Ray, the baby man child of the group, laughed. "Just like Marty use to say."
"How come we've never heard of this place before?" Mick, a big buff fire baby with a gun that lit shit on fire, asked. He was the designated lazy drunk of the team.
"Who cares?" Zari, a spunky little smarty pants from the future, shrugged. "Let's just get this over with..."
"Good plan!" Sara said. "Gideon, plot a course!" She looked around, realizing a few people were missing. "And someone go get Charlie and Constantine! You guys watch the ship while Ray, Mick, and I go check this place out. Let's go og team!"
~
A group of teenagers stood at the bus stop on the edge of town, as the bus pulled to a stop. The teens pumped their fist in the air, excitedly chanting, "Pines! Pines! Pines!"
The bus's doors creaked open, and two kids jumped out, hopping right over all the steps. A boy and a girl with identical facial features. The girl, Mabel Pines, was a millimeter taller, and she had long brown hair, curling down her back like a princess. She had a huge grin plastered on her face, showing off her silver braces attached to her snow white teeth. Her eyes had a sparkle in them that not even Ray Palmer could match. Mabel wore a neon green sweater with bright orange lettering printed on it -- GF. The sleeves were so long that they covered her hands, flopping around wildly. Though, Mabel was still able to hold on to her pet pig Waddles.
Her brother Dipper wasn't as silly, though in that moment it was difficult to tell that. He was smirking like crazy, looking like a complete goofball in the process. On top his head he wore a white hat with a blue pine tree printed on the front, his own dark brown hair poking out from under the bill. He wore a red shirt under a dark blue vest and a pair of jean shorts.
"Oh yeah!" Mabel shouted at the top of her lungs. "The Mystery Twins are back, baby!!" She sat Waddles down, pumping her fists in the air and letting her sweater's sleeves flop around. "Ready to party and kick weirdy butt!!"
Two girls charged forward, crushing Mabel in a huge hug. One was a huge gal called Grenda. The other was a little tot with dark hair called Candy. "Hey, girl!" they cheered simultaneously. (Grenda's voice was very masculine, while Candy's was soft and petite.)
One of the teenagers stepped forward, her long red hair swishing behind her in elegant motions. Her pale skin glowed in the afternoon sunlight. She smiled radiantly at the twins. "Hey, doofuses!"
"Wendy!" the twins cheered simultaneously.
The twins ran forward to hug the red head. But before much of anything could happen, a massive spaceship landed in front of the group. Dipper grinned at the sight.
"We've only been here for five seconds, and already the mysteries begin!" he said excitedly.
"Come on, you knuckleheads!" Mabel squealed, running towards the ship. The others followed behind her, giggling with excitement, as they ran. But before they could get inside, three people stepped out from the ship, two men and a woman. (Which was Sara, Mick, and Ray.)
Mabel gasped. "Aliens!"
"Whoa! Freaky!" Grenda commented.
"I've always wanted to meet one of those!" Dipper grinned.
"Um...actually we're just human," Ray said. "But we are time travelers."
Dipper and Mabel shrugged, like that wasn't really a big deal. "Eh, that's cool, I guess," Dipper muttered.
"Kinda last summer," Mabel murmured.
"Wasn't the saying last year, not last summer?" Mick asked Ray. Ray nodded before turning back to the twins, smiling politely.
"Well, I'm Ray. What're your names?"
"I'm Mabel!" Mabel grinned brightly. "And this scallywag is my bro, Dipper. My BFFs Candy and Grenda, and Dipper's failed summer romance from last summer, Wendy!"
Wendy and Dipper blushed at that last part, both embarrassed. But neither said anything about it.
Sara snorted, thinking of her own girlfriend. The last time she had seen her, they had almost been busted by Nate's dad. She could still remember what he'd said. It had taken everything in her not to burst out laughing at the time.
"Anyway," Mick said, interrupting them. "Where's the beer?"
Everyone gasped dramatically, like 'beer' was some foul word they weren't allowed to say.
"What? I don't wanna deal with some dumb kids." He shrugged, walking away to embark on his journey to find an alcoholic beverage.
Wendy shrugged, like three strangers randomly popping up in a time ship was no big deal at all. Like it was completely normally, something they probably shouldn't even worry about. She turned to the Pines Twins. "Hey, dudes, you wanna go see if Stan and Ford are back yet? Soos has been waiting at the shack, like, all day. He even got the banners for the welcoming party out and everything. It's gonna be --" She started waving her hands wildly and speaking in a deeper voice than her normal tone. "-- off the chain!"
"Let's party!" Mabel screeched, pumping her fists in the air. She picked her pig up again and ran off towards the Mystery Shack. The others ran after her, leaving a confused Ray and Sara behind, screaming, "Pines! Pines! Pines!"
Ray frowned. "Are we supposed to follow them or...?"
Sara shrugged. She ran ahead to follow their new "friends," leaving Ray behind in her haste. He muttered something under his breath about getting in shape from all the running these people made him do before following her, somehow managing to catch the extremely fast assassin.
Soon, it became a race, to the point where the children were left in the dust. (Their legs were much longer, allowing them to move a lot faster.) Sara and Ray had absolutely no idea where they were going until they arrived at the Mystery Shack. (They were only able to find their way due to the random signs nailed to the trees, saying Mystery Shack this way! Spend money!)
It was a little, run down building with boards sticking out of place on it's porch. The roof looked as though it would cave in any second. Windows appeared to have broken glass surrounding their frames. In the front lawn was a large sign, the words Mystery Shack printed on it, that looked as though it was about to topple over. On the roof of the shack, there was a similar sign stacked on top of the unsteady building, but the S had fallen off. So, it just said Mystery hack.
When the group had arrived, Sara and Ray stood, stunned.
Mick and a guy named Stan (according to the nametag, anyway) were sitting in chairs on the porch, drinking beers and talking. Stan was a big, old guy with a crooked grin. Grey hair could be seen poking out from the red fez he wore on top of his head. There was a shadow on his chin, indicating he must have shaved recently, but somehow he still seemed a bit unkept. Maybe it was because of all the wrinkles in his dark suit. Or maybe it was because he burped after every other sentence. Sara couldn't really say.
Mick and Stan were chuckling, as they chatted. This was a very big deal, because Mick didn't just drink with any random dude. Especially old dudes with ties. This guy must have really impressed him somehow.
"So there we are," Stan was saying, "on the perfect date, and the next thing I know, she's tying me up in webs!"
"Women," Mick scoffed.
"Right?" Stan chuckled.
"GRUNKLE STAN!!!" Mabel and Dipper ran past Ray and Sara, charging towards the old man. They each wrapped their arms around him, grinning widely. Sara wasn't really sure what "Grunkle" meant, but she assumed it meant he was some kind of family of theirs.
Another man, identical to Stan appeared in the doorway of the shack. (Though there were a few subtle differences. For instance, this new guy had thick side burns on the side of his head. His glasses were also broken on the left lense, where as Stan's were in perfect condition. This guy also had six fingers, instead of the normal five, but Sara figured it was probably rude to point that out.)
He frowned at the alcohol in Mick and Stan's hands. His eyes flickered to Stan, a look of utter distain on his features. "Stanley, I thought we agreed. No beer when the kids got here!"
"Relax, Ford," Stan said. "It's non alcoholic!" He then leaned over to Mick while Mabel and Dipper ran to Ford and hugged him too, whispering, "Not really."
Ford rolled his eyes at his twin, as he hugged the younger Pines Twins back.
Mick let out a belly laugh. If they were children, Sara was pretty sure they would've high fived. And then...they did just that. She stared, stunned, as Mick and Stan slapped their hands together. It was a strange sight. Mick rarely ever liked anyone. That's how she knew this Stan guy must have been some kind of crook. Mick only liked other people if they were on his team or if they were crooks.
She rolled her eyes. Ray was just staring at them in wonder until he came to the same conclusion as Sara and huffed. Mick ignored them. He just kept talking with Stan, each sharing stories about their heists they've pulled. They seemed to be trying to figure out who had the craziest stories.
They kept chatting, until Sara interrupted. "...Mick, we have a job to do."
He glared at her, rolling his eyes and turned back to Stan, pointedly ignoring her.
"Mick," Sara tried again, getting a little annoyed.
"Should we leave him? He looks happy," Ray muttered. Sara huffed, muttering something and turning on her heel, once again leaving Ray to follow like a lost puppy. The ironic thing was how similar a puppy and Ray were.
The blonde assassin and dark haired boy scout (sorry, eagle scout) walked off to complete their legendary mission. Little did they know that the two twins -- Mabel and Dipper -- were getting ready for their own adventure upstairs.
Dipper was thumbing through his journal -- a worn, red leather book with the number 3 printed on the cover, written by their Great Uncle Ford -- looking for something exciting to do.
Meanwhile, Mabel was jumping up and down on her bed, while she unpacked their things and tossed pillows at Candy and Grenda. (Wendy had gone down stairs to help Soos prepare for the welcoming party later that night.) It wasn't until the twins had finally unpacked everything and Mabel's friends left to ready themselves for the party that the Mystery Twins ran off looking for adventure.
~
Soon, all four -- Legends and Twins -- were in the woods. Two Legends and two halves of the Mystery Twins. Dipper was looking through Great Uncle Ford's journal, as he walked through the forest with his sister prancing around at his side. "Ooh! Here's one we haven't done yet!" Dipper said, showing Mabel the page he was looking at. "The Freezer!"
On the page was a drawing of a man, completely encased in a block of ice. There were a few notes jotted down next to the picture. Dangerous. Will kill on sight. Do not approach at all costs!!!
"Well that sounds...cool!" Mabel said. She giggled at her own pun, shouting, "Heyo!"
"Kids?" Sara asked, approaching them to make sure. She and Ray had been near by, when they heard the two talking. The assassin frowned when she spotted them. "What are you doing out here?"
"We're looking for mysteries!" Mabel told her. "People call us the Mystery Twins. Don't wanna brag, but...we're kind of a big deal." She leaned on her brother's shoulder, attempting to look awesome.
Ray frowned, coming to stand next to Sara. "Is that safe?"
"Pfft. Yeah, totally," Dipper lied.
"The 'will kill on sight' disagrees." Sara rolled her eyes at Ray, after glancing at the Freezer page in the journal. Didn't he see that this could be their monster? If it took kids leading them to it, then so be it.
Mabel and Dipper shrugged, as if 'will kill on sight' was the equivalent to someone tickling them. "Wanna come?"
Sara nodded eagerly while Ray frowned and shook his head. Dipper and Mabel shrugged and continued on, Sara following them as Ray huffed. After a minute, he realized he didn't want to be alone in this forest, so he followed them.
"Are you sure this is a good idea?" he whispered to Sara.
"Relax," Sara shrugged. "If anything goes wrong we can get them out of there before they get hurt. You have a super suit, and I'm a highly trained assassin, remember? What could go wrong?"
"Um, you remember what team we're on, right?" Ray asked, because the Legends were kind of famous for screwing everything up. Sara shrugged, walking faster to catch up to Dipper and get another look at the picture.
But it was crudely drawn, so she couldn't see the face of the man inside the ice cube very well.
Dipper clicked his pen repeatedly, chewing on one end of it, as he read through the notes about the Freezer. "Apparently, this thing can control the weather. Mainly with ice and snow. What do you think it is? One of those strange creatures we're always finding here? A ghost? Maybe it's finally an alien! Or --"
Mabel threw a snowball at him, effectively shutting him up. He looked down, realizing the grass had suddenly turned to snow, and the trees were now covered in ice. They were getting closer to the Freezer.
Sara couldn't help but shiver. The other three wrapped their arms around themselves, the cold biting at their skin.
"Should have brought coats," Ray noted. They continued forward until they came upon a little cave, icicles hanging from the roof of the rocks.
Mabel ran ahead of the others, giggling happily. Her sweater kept her a little warmer than the others, but her energy was really the thing that kept her unable to get cold.
Soon, the group stumbled upon the Freezer. The thing was gigantic, maybe twenty feet tall. Or at least the block was. Thick ice surrounded the man inside, making it so that the four mystery goers could hardly see through it. They could only just glimpse at the figure inside -- a lanky, normal looking man with normal clothing. (Then again, looks could be deceiving. Everyone in the group had learned that the hard way.)
The four stared at the Freezer for a long moment, before it began to move. The ice block slid forward, scooting towards the four of them in a violent manner. A large wave of snow shot at Mabel and Sara. The assassin just barely had enough time to tackle the girl and get out of the way.
"I told you!" Ray called.
Sara ignored him, whipping out her batons from her pocket. Mabel reached into her skirt's pockets, pulling out a grappling hook. She fired it, and the hook latched on to the ice on the Freezer's ice cube, cracking the ice a little.
Dipper skimmed through the journal, searching for ways to defeat the Freezer. He gasped, as he found the answer. "We need to break the ice!" He looked at Mabel's grappling hook. "Follow Mabel's lead!"
Sara ran forward, ducking as the Freezer shot ice and snow at her. She slammed her weapons on the base of the ice cube, before she was forced to back off due to the cold.
Ray just watched, satisfaction in his features. They got themselves into this mess, they could get themselves out.
His mind only changed when the Freezer managed to hit him. An icy blast slammed into his chest, sending him flying across the cave and into the wall. He growled angrily and threw his own blast back, effectively cracking the ice box open.
The ice scattered, rolling over the cave floor, making a loud hissing noise. Mabel and Dipper stomped on the ice, crushing it until it was nothing more than tiny, little pieces. Meanwhile, Sara and Ray ran to check on the man who had been trapped inside, and they were shocked to see that they actually recognized him.
It was impossible to mistake him, even if he hadn't been wearing that iconic blue parka. His small frame had been etched into their memories permanently after traveling together for months. (And, in Sara's case, falling in love after several lengthy heart to heart conversations and gruesome card games.)
The Man didn't look like much at first glance, but once one had heard (and survived, if they're lucky) one of his well thought out plans, it quickly became clear that he was actually quite dangerous. He had a cunning smirk, ever lasting, even as he fell to the cave floor unconscious, that radiated knowledge and patience. Like he knew, given enough time, he could get whatever he wanted from you.
Sara's eyes widened, as she glanced at Ray to make sure he was seeing the same person she was. He stared back at her, mouth hanging wide open, a look of disbelief evident on his face. "Leonard?"
(〜^∇^)〜
Okay, so as you can see I was going to bring Leonard back via GF's weirdness. He was going to have gotten stuck in the weird ice block thing called the Freeze and he'd have been stuck there for a few years. (Hence why Ford was able to steady the Freezer.) But Ford never knew that the Freezer was a person...until now.
I was thinking that Lenny doesn't remember anything, because drama. Mick, Ray, Sara, and the GF gang will have to help him remember or something. Maybe find a secret society that's the reverse of the Blind Eye? I was also considering maybe bringing Bill back from the dead at some point, as this is after GF ends so he'll have been "erased" in Stan's mind. You can think up whatever excuse you want for him being there. Or you don't have to have him. Up to you.
I had only been planning to use the three Legends the first chapter focused on -- Mick, Sara, and Ray -- but if you choose to take this plotline it will be up to you to bring in and use the Legends as you see fit.
If you would like to adopt this plot please fill out an adoption form, and I'll get back with you. More plots will be up soon! Thank you :)
