Knowing
"Oh my gosh!" Champ shouted. He shifted his body, his right side now facing the gore. I could see that his legs were shaking.
Zach's and Hannah's eyes widened. Hannah spun her head in the opposite direction, her brown ponytail brushing against her boyfriend's shoulder, and Zach's mouth dropped open. He could not say a word. Shivers' face saddened, and he looked down.
All of the monsters laughed and cheered as the puppet stabbed my own caretaker to death. I just stood where I was. I watched the scene unfold right in front of me. My body tensed.
Slappy laughed his irritating laugh as he stabbed Cassandra over and over. Stab! Stab! Stab! The knife cut through soft flesh and brought out blood for all to witness.
Cassandra did not scream or cry in agony. She knew her fate. She had finally told me the truth and protected me for as long as she could. I gently waved my arms back and forth, seeing her collapse. Her arms and legs spread out, and her eyes were shut. Her blonde hair covered half of her face that was now pale.
She did not move. She did not flinch.
The puppet gave her one last stabbing before dropping his knife. The knife clattered to the ground, and he breathed heavily.
"That...was wonderful," he stated. "It felt good." He smirked at me. "You know, Shelly, I have to admit that you had me somewhat surprised. Usually, my slaves sacrifice their lives for their loved ones. I did not expect you to be selfish." He glanced at the caretaker. "Then again, she was a pain, especially to you."
I crossed my arms. "Let us get some things straightened up here," I said. "First, I am not your slave. Or your bride. Or your queen." I took a step forward, showing every ounce of bravery. "Second, I was not being selfish. I was being clever. Cleverer than you, dummy."
He narrowed his wooden eyebrows and quickly picked up the knife. "Who you callin' dummy? Du—" Suddenly, a hand reached out and clamped down on his wooden arm. Its fingers wrapped around it, and its fingertips dug in. "Hey!" He twisted his head around...
...and there was Cassandra.
Again, with no wounds. It was as if Slappy never stabbed her to begin with.
"How...how are you alive?!" Slappy questioned.
"She is a "Non-Fiend." One of my people," I answered for Cassandra. "I have plenty of the same kind." I turned, my back facing the monsters, and smiled. "These are my "Non-Fiends." The ones who I have cherished all my life. And you cannot kill them."
When I said that, my creations appeared from the shadows. Most of them were humans. Some of them were creatures. Aliens. Puppets. Vampires. You name the species. I had over a hundred of "Non-Fiends." And they served me. Me and only me.
"Boy, we arrived just in time!" a puppet "Non-Fiend" named Tippy spoke.
"Get your game faces on!" an alien "Non-Fiend" by the name of Wendow said. "You wish that you did not mess with us!"
I looked back at Slappy and grinned. "Time to fight."
At the sound of that, the "Non-Fiends" charged at the monsters.
