Epilogue

The board meeting just finished and Solji entered her office situated at the topmost floor of the building, her secretary hot on her heels while swiping furiously on the tablet.

"The meeting went smoothly, better than I expected. I thought Mr. Han will cause a fuss again just like the last time," the secretary said as she watched Solji plop down on her leather chair, exhaustion draining her energy.

Despite having the position that she wanted, she still hated board meetings.

When Suho stepped down as the CEO of Atlanta a few years ago, he appointed Solji as his successor.

Many of the board members were against it at first. They deemed her lacking to be the next CEO. They believed, she wouldn't be as great as her father or even enough to match his skills. Mr. Han was one of the board members who wanted to kick her out of the position by voting.

But before the board meeting, they were proven wrong.

Solji wasn't as great as her father.

She was better.

Since she became the CEO, the company faced trials and everything was in frenzy. She managed to give solutions to all of that and the sales increased to over one hundred and twenty percent, months after she became the CEO.

Because of this, she regained the other board members' respect and Mr. Han couldn't accept that so he would cause a scene.

And years since she became a CEO, Atlanta acquired Vista. Their competitor who was always fighting against them for the first place fell behind and under Solji's regime, they were slowly absorbing their competitors.

People told her she couldn't do what she had to do, so she showed them how it's done.

"He knew better than to cause a riot this time because his shares are growing smaller by the time," Solji said and pinched the bridge of her nose. "What's the next thing on my schedule?"

The secretary immediately scrolled through the tablet. "Nothing left. This is the last on your schedule."

"Thank goodness. I don't think my sanity will last if there's another one. Cancel all of my appointments for this week and the next. I'm going to attend my friend's wedding in Germany."

"Copy," the secretary said.

Solji stood up and organized all her stuff while the secretary retreated to her office to finish some paperworks. While retouching her lipstick, her phone vibrated on the table. It was a text message from her fiancé.

My Engineer: Hello gorgeous. What time will you finish with your work today?

Me: I'm already done with the board meeting. I'm actually preparing to go home now. Why did you ask?

My Engineer: Let's eat dinner, please. I miss you :(

Solji suppressed the smile that spread across her lips. Five years of being engaged didn't change a single thing about them. If anything, they had grown more mature, but still affectionate.

Me: Clingy. Okay, just text me the time and the address.

My Engineer: I'm already at the lobby. I love you.

Five years since they got engaged yet he still made her heart skip a beat. She hurriedly put her makeup inside her Birkin and shouted a quick goodbye to her secretary before rushing to her private elevator.

They had been together for so long yet she was still excited to see him.

If Solji succeeded in her career, Jeno was just as successful.

In a short amount of time, he became one of the most well-known engineer in the world and last year, he received a Gorgio Quazza Medal award for his outstanding lifetime contribution on his field.

He had so many projects here and there, both locally and internationally which allowed him to build his own engineering company.

Jeno Lee became a renowned name in his field and he kept climbing up the ladder to prove his skills and etch his name at the top.

When the elevator reached to the ground floor, Solji instantly found Jeno sitting on one of the couches on the lobby.

He had his way of making himself stand out without really doing anything.

Jeno sensed that somebody was staring at him, despite the dozen pairs of eyes staring at him, he felt that this was the one he was waiting for. And he wasn't wrong.

Solji's heels clicked on the floor, giving that powerful sound at every stride as her employees bowed to her. She loved the power that she held. She loved having that main character moment. But of course, she knew about humility as much as she knew about fame.

Jeno stood up from his seat and walked to meet Solji. Almost everyone was looking at them as if watching a romance movie between a handsome engineer and a beautiful CEO.

His long legs took him fast enough to reach her and engulf his fiancé into a hug.

"I missed you," Jeno whispered to her ear.

"I missed you too."

As much as they wanted to stay like that, they were in a public place and in Solji's company to be exact. The last thing they needed was to be a subject of gossip. They went to the parking lot where Jeno's car was parked. He opened the door for her and made sure she was comfortable before circling back to the driver's seat. It's the little gestures that always made her heart melt.

"You know I was really exhausted before I went here and now I'm okay thanks to you," Jeno said all of a sudden.

"Geez. I... can you not?"

"What?"

"Say things like that out of the blue? I'm... going to faint."

Jeno chuckled and planted a soft kiss on Solji's lips before pulling away, grinning from ear to ear.

"Poor you. I'm planning to do that for the rest of our lives."

They arrived at Jeno's penthouse which was only ten minutes away from Solji's own house.

When Solji started working, she decided to finally move out of their house. It was such a huge leap for her because the only people left there were her and her parents. Doyoung moved out and Jungwoo was living overseas. She was thinking twice if she had to move or not but Irene encouraged her.

"You're an adult now. You should make the most of your life. Don't worry about us."

And so she did.

She wanted to live independently and Jeno helped her adjust with her new setup and now, she's living her best life as an independent woman with a stable job.

Jeno punched the code to his house and opened the door for Solji.

She was beyond surprised when she saw the curtains on the living room drew wide open, revealing the breathtaking view of the city skyline. The living room was decorated beautifully, with fairy lights attached on the wall and a blanket spread on the floor filled with food. There were scented candles lit up that casted a warm glow on the place, filling it with an aromatic scent. It was cozy and warm and romantic.

"Oh my God..." was the only thing Solji could say as she walked towards the living room, admiring the view and then the food laid on the floor. "When did you prepare this?" she asked.

"Two hours before I went to your company to fetch you. I noticed that you've been really exhausted the past few days so I wanted to surprise you. Did you like it?

Solji ran to Jeno's arms and hugged him. He circled his arms around her waist and buried his face on her neck.

"I love it!"

"I'm glad," Jeno said. "You might want to change in a more comfortable clothes first before we dig in."

Solji nodded and pat Jeno's ass before running to his room and rummaging his closet. Since they frequently visited each other, they both had a section in their closets with each other's clothes.

Somehow, Solji preferred wearing her fiancé's clothes more.

After she took a shower, she dried her hair while Jeno was showering on the second bathroom. They were both dressed in a hoodie and a sweatpants and now sitting on the floor while eating the food that he had made.

While eating, they couldn't help but reminisce the times when they were in college.

"Looking back, we never thought we would reach this point. Remember when all we wanted was to pass the semester and stay alive? Look at us now," Solji said, her voice trembling. "If we could go back in the past and talk to our college selves, we can pat them in the back and say they made it. All their hard work paid off."

"And now all of us are successful on our respective careers," Jeno said. "I can't believe Heejin is already getting married."

"And Mark and Haechan finally moved in together! They're the cutest couple ever. I mean, after us of course. We're still the cutest."

They both laughed at that.

Career was not the only thing thriving in Mark's life. He was finally able to confess to Haechan and after years of being in a relationship, they bought a house in New York and lived together.

Karina became the face of the airlines where she was working and she worked as a respected flight attendant, the best among her peers, and was also a freelance model.

Yeji joined in several dancing competitions and became a well-known dancer both locally and internationally. She was planning to establish a dance academy soon.

Jaemin was still finishing the remaining years before he could finally become a surgeon. He volunteered on several charity events and was discovered by a scouting agent who offered him to become an actor but he refused. Saving lives was his passion and he wouldn't trade it for anything.

Heejin became a best-selling author where she wrote a story about her life as a survivor and how the people around her helped her throughout her journey. She even dedicated the book to her friends, including Solji whom she made as her bridesmaid in her wedding.

Jeno was patching up his relationship with his Dad. It wasn't an easy one, but he always made room for forgiveness. Forgive, but set boundaries. Never forget.

"Imagine if you didn't throw yourself to me and kissed me when you got drunk? I don't think we would be here," Jeno said.

Solji gave him a scandalous look before slapping his arm. "We will meet either way. At the dinner, remember? I think I would fall for you nonetheless because you're nice."

"I was extra nicer because I was intrigued by you. You kissed me when you're drunk and then you acted like you didn't know me when you're sober."

"You'll like me, either way. I'm confident," Solji replied nonchalantly and she was caught off guard when Jeno stole a kiss from her lips.

"Thank you for being drunk that night."

Solji tried to smack his arm again but he caught her arm and pinned her on the floor, her back hitting the carpet.

She didn't fight or even squirmed when Jeno kissed her lips passionately. She melted under their feverish kiss and wrapped her legs around Jeno.

The next events were a blur.

All she knew was that they were both naked and her body was pressed on the glass wall while Jeno took her from behind. The moon and the stars became witness as they made love.

The stranger she kissed at the pub was now her future husband. A man with an angelic face with a gorgeous body who also possessed the purest smile in the world. Not to mention a monster in bed where he could literally bring heaven to her.

Everything was perfectly aligned just how things should be.

She guessed, she didn't regret committing that one drunken mistake after all.
