Lockdown Workout
Written for
Describe some creative ways to do exercise at home during the Coronavirus Lockdown of 2020 in under 200 words:
There are many hidden opportunities to stay in shape:
Get out of bed: drop and do ten push-ups then ten sit-ups
Toilet: While brushing your teeth, march in place
Pass a set of stairs? Run up/down a flight
Hallway: do star jumps or lunges down it. Feeling really peppy? Do burpees
Need weights? Can of beans or lay under your coffee table with carefully balanced book stacks on top
Commercial breaks: Do a High Intensity Interval Training workout (i.e. HIIT) (many great apps!)
Boiling a kettle: Run/high-knee walk on the spot
Yoga: No mat needed
Dance: Close the curtains if you're shy and shake it, baby! Music optional
Juggling: learn with potatoes
Trying not to order too much online, but if you don't have them these are worth the real estate in your living room...
Balance ball: Great big one to sit on at your 'desk' or while watching TV - kids will love it too!
Mini-trampoline: Put it in the living room and bounce on it for three songs to 1) warm-up, 2) work hard, then 3) cool down and/or bounce on it during commercial breaks - kids will LOVE it!
