Chapter 49
It took them a record two days to perfect their cast album. The cast got together during the last hours of the second day to select the album art and voted for their favorite ones. Some people advocated for fan art to be on the cover, and others wanted cast photos. Eventually, they ended up with a minimalist snowflake design, with the silhouette of Elsa.
A few days of hectic schedules finally died down for a little bit. They got through their first full week of shows the next week, but not without mistakes. There was one day where none of the fake snow dropped, so the atmosphere was kind of ruined. Another day brought a violin string snapping in the middle of the Entr'acte, and yet another had Jacob slip on the soapy stage.
Gary was not pleased, despite all the positive reviews the show was getting. Most, if not all of the people who the show loved it and raved about it on social media. Kasey's Instagram and Twitter followers jumped in numbers after opening night. It was a little daunting, if she was being honest.
And of course, Frozen's media director, Tristan, started booking the leading cast members for various press events again.
This time, Kasey was the one who got to do Side by Side with Susan Blackwell.

They scheduled the shoot on a day that Kasey had one evening show, so they did it in the morning. Carleigh agreed to stay out of the loft for a while so that she didn't accidentally disrupt filming.
"So, Kasey, what the what? You previously starred in Hamilton, winning awards as favorite ensemble member, and now you're a leading actress in one of the biggest Disney musicals of this age?" Susan exclaimed.
"I know, right? I'm honestly still shocked that I'm still employed. It's usually so hard to book jobs on Broadway, but I'm guessing a lot of it has to do with the immense popularity of Hamilton," Kasey laughed.
"And you're dating Tangled hottie Jace Reynolds. How cool is that?"
"It's so cool, he's such a great guy. I'm glad that we worked out our issues. I feel like we're at a good point in our relationship now," Kasey answered.
"Tell me what it's like to be a Disney princess."
"It's unbelievable, I would have never thought I'd be where I am now. Especially being British, in this industry it's an automatic turn-off for producers when they hear that you have an accent. Especially when there's almost no British roles out there anymore," Kasey told Susan. "I would have thought they would pick an American actress who looks more like Anna than I do. Honestly, I'm not even a redhead, so I don't even know how that happened."
"So, I am so excited for this next segment," Susan announced. "We're going to play Camera Roll Roulette. You're going to scroll through your camera roll and I'm going to stop you on a picture. Whatever picture it is, you have to show the camera and explain it."
"Okay," Kasey laughed. She grabbed her phone off the coffee table and unlocked it, clicking on the photos app.
"Start," Susan commanded. Kasey started scrolling. "Okay, stop there."
Kasey laughed. It was a picture of Kasey wearing the King George crown in front of a huge British flag on the Richard Rodgers stage.
"Okay, this is a great picture. Jonathan Groff let me wear it after my citizenship ceremony. It's the one time that I've gotten to wear that thing. And it's really heavy, actually. And the British flag is left over from the ceremony, too," Kasey explained.
"I heard about that. I'm pretty sure everyone knew about it before you did," Susan told Kasey.
"Oh, I know. I don't know how Carleigh managed to plan all of it, honestly."
"Alright, another one," Susan said. Kasey scrolled for a little bit before Susan told her to stop.
"Aw, this is a picture of Jace and I after the second time I saw Tangled," Kasey said. "I think we'd been dating a while at that point, and he invited me to see it again. It's such an amazing show, I could have watched it every day and never have gotten tired of it."
Susan grinned. "Me, too. I saw it once a few months after it opened. Jace was amazing."
"He's great," Kasey said, nodding.
"Okay, we'll do one more," Susan announced. Kasey obediently started scrolling.
"Stop," Susan said.
It was a picture of Carleigh, Kasey, and Thayne.
"I forgot I had this picture, to be honest," Kasey said. "It's when the cast met for the first time and we played a bunch of trust exercises, and this one was when we had a day where every cast member brought an outfit for someone else to keep. We had to wear them for that day. Carleigh actually drew my name, so she picked out this one green army jacket, the gray shirt, black pants, and these really nice boots for me. That's how we got to be friends. And then I dressed Thayne, so yeah."
"That's awesome," Susan laughed. "I never knew you actually did that."
"Yeah, it was a long time ago. I'd kinda forgot about that too," Kasey agreed. "I still wear everything she got me, and I think she still wears her stuff, too."
"That's so cute," Susan said. "So, I have another segment called 'Celebrities Doing Celebrities Prank Calling Celebrities.'"
"What?!" Kasey laughed. "I'm confused."
"You're going to do an impression a celebrity, and then you're going to prank call someone," Susan explained.
"Hmm, okay. Who do you think I should do?" Kasey asked thoughtfully.
"I think you should prank call Jace," Susan said instantly.
"Sure, who should I impersonate?"
"You should totally do Jess."
"I don't know, Jess doesn't really have anything hilarious about her. She definitely has a bit of a Canadian vibe but I've never actually asked her if she's from Canada," Kasey mused.
"You could always do Jonathan Groff, because we have something about him every time we do this segment," Susan joked.
"That would be great," Kasey laughed. She dialed Jace's number, adding the extra code that blocked her number from Jace's view. "Hopefully he picks up."
"Hi, this is Jace Reynolds," Jace said after about three rings.
"Hey, Jace, this is Jonathan Groff," Kasey said in a flawless American accent. Susan was trying to hold back laughter. "I have something serious to confess to you."
"Um, okay..."
"I've been deeply in love with you ever since you watched Hamilton a while back, and I've never had the courage to tell you until now. I just really wanted you to know because lying to you has been tearing me apart."
"This is a prank call, isn't it? Let me guess, you're either Kaitlyn, Araella, Sebastian, or Kasey," Jace said after a pause.
"You're right," Kasey laughed, switching back into her normal British accent. "It's Kasey."
"That's great, Kase," Jace said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Listen, I've got to go, but it was a good effort. I would love to date Jonathan Groff."
And with that, Jace hung up.
Susan was howling at that point. Kasey tried to keep the smirk off her face but failed, breaking into giggles.
"Your impression was spot on, still," Susan reassured Kasey.
"I'm so glad that I've perfected my Jonathan Groff impersonation," Kasey commented, still laughing.
