Kasey had never had issues with the fans before. Not like now.

After her post announcing her breakup with Jace, she was suddenly spammed with endless messages, comments, and questions. They wanted answers about why they'd broken up.

She hadn't realized that her relationship with Jace had been such a huge factor in the lives of the fans. She always thought that they appreciated it, but thought the fans never invested themselves in her own love life.  

She was wrong. 

Many people apparently cried over the breakup, and Kasey was tagged in an unbelievable amount of posts following her announcement.

It wasn't all just sad fans, either. There were some that were extremely demanding and accusational. Some thought that they broke up because either Jace or Kasey cheated, and some people even started blaming Carleigh for what happened.

It was all fairly manageable until Kasey's phone number was somehow leaked. 

She wasn't sure who had done it- it could have been anyone who had her number. And there were a lot of people who it might have been. She had the entire Frozen cast and the three different Hamilton casts in her contacts from their group chats. She didn't have much else, but it was still too many to sort through.

After her number was leaked, the fans started texting her. The messages weren't nice, either. They were threatening to track her down and find the loft, or vandalize the theatre.

Kasey had put away her phone for a while and was just sitting on the couch, thinking. She didn't know what to do. She could get a new phone so that the fans didn't have the number anymore, but it was a lot of work to let everyone know about a new number.

Carleigh stepped in the door, returning from doing a Hamilton workshop.

"Hey," Carleigh greeted.

"Hey," Kasey said tiredly.

"What's wrong?" Carleigh asked, frowning. She sat next to Kasey and put her bag on the floor. 

"Fans have my phone number, for some reason. People are threatening me, and spamming me with messages. They're really upset about Jace, and I don't know what to do. I've never heard of fans getting this violent," Kasey confessed.

"How did they get your number?!"

"I don't know, someone must have accidentally leaked it."

"I don't think anyone would have... it's a really serious thing to do. Especially since the Tangled fans really aren't happy with you right now," Carleigh said, frowning. "You need to report it."

"There's not really anything to report. I might just get a new phone," Kasey said, running a hand through her hair. "I just can't believe that they're being so harsh. I thought they would respect my decision. We weren't even the most popular couple ever to have walked the earth. What should I do?"

"I'm not sure, Kasey. This is a violation of your privacy. You need to at least change your number, and tell someone."

"I needed a new phone anyway. I'll go to the Apple store after rehearsal," Kasey said finally. "I'll get the same size, so my phone case still fits."

"And you need to talk to Jace and the fans. Maybe he can stop it."

"The Hamilton fans are mad at him, too. It's like an all-out Broadway war. I never thought they'd get so intense about one relationship. They aren't even that hardcore about other relationships on Broadway."

"Well, Tangled and Hamilton both have huge fan bases. Plus, you two were adorable," Carleigh told her. 

"I'm going to text the groupchats first, to make sure that no one leaks it by accident again."

kaseywinslow: hey guys. i have something serious i have to address today, and it somewhat involves all of you. try not to interject until i'm done explaining.

kaseywinslow: my phone number was leaked last week. i also broke up with jace. because of this, i'm starting to get threats and texts from the fans since my number is out there on the internet. the only people who have my number are the hamilton and frozen casts, plus some people that aren't even involved on broadway. i just ask that you please not leak my number again.

kaseywinslow: people have threatened the frozen cast, the theatre, and also carleigh. i'm getting a new phone/number so that i stop getting texts. and if anyone leaked my number on purpose, i would really appreciate it if they came forward.

kaseywinslow: that's all.

Kasey: my number was leaked about a week ago and i've started receiving threats from fans, so i'm getting new phone tonight, just so you're all aware. if ANYONE leaked my number on purpose, we need to have a serious conversation. thank you.

Sebastian: that's such crap. you shouldn't have to go through this.

Jess: i agree, that's super immature. and i know that there's not many people outside of frozen and hamilton who have your number, so that's ridiculous. 

Dylan: i'll walk out to stage door with you until everything cools down.

After texting everyone in her contacts who she actually knew, Kasey opened the Instagram app and took a deep breath.

"What should I say?" she asked Carleigh.

"Just explain what's been going on, tell them that you're getting a new number, and make sure they know that what's happening is awful and immature," Carleigh said.

@KaseyWinslow: Hey guys. We need to have a serious conversation. Somehow my phone number was leaked last week and the fans found it. I've been receiving texts from you guys asking me questions about the breakup and just in general.

More importantly, some people have been threatening the people and the things I care about because of this. 

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the lack of respect that you guys have shown over the past week. It's disrespectful to me, and it's disrespectful to Carleigh, Jace, and my current and former cast members. 

As a result, I will be getting a new phone, disabling the comments, and turning off private messaging for both Instagram and Twitter. I know some of you will be disappointed, since I have been known to reply to some fans when they message me, but this is because of the lack of respect and maturity that I've seen from a great percentage of people out there.

I apologize to those of you who have been lovely and considerate after my previous post.
