The Night Sky

I stood on a hill. The night air was warm and the bright, full moon shone down onto the Earth, filling my eyes with the warm light of the moonbeams. The ocean below roared as the majestic waves rushed to shore, and ever so softly collapsed into itself, like a rainbow after a hurricane; the small peace after a storm.
My blonde hair fluttered in the wind, and I wore a long, ivory lace gown flowing gracefully behind me like a butterfly delicately gliding on the breeze. I wore no shoes, but the grass below my feet was soft and lush,  littered with elegant flowers and playful mushrooms. The hills rolled in the distance behind me, as far as the eye can see, with the ocean before me, and the beaming moon and stars above.
No beauty on Earth held a comparison for the glorious stars that danced in the night. I gazed at them, hypnotized by the wondrous sight of the diamonds in dark sky; stars are the flowers in the garden of the universe. The stars were incomparable to anything you could see on this planet, and they drew you in like a moth to a light.
There are not words to describe the feeling- the feeling of being pulled like a magnet to the sky, soaring through the clouds, above and beyond. The feeling of freedom as you sail from the Earth to the moon in a ship rowing on a river of vibrant joy, your gaze upon the stars empowering the ship. In one breath you are there, and in one blink you are gone.

It won't stay, the feeling and adventure to the moon and stars will not last forever, but you'll never forget it. I know I never will. I returned to my hill, exactly on my feet where I began, as if I never left. I lifted my gaze above, where I saw a shooting star whisk across the sky, as if saying goodnight.
I returned my eyes to the water and closed them as the ocean whispered, "To the stars you will one day return, but only if you can find them on Earth."

With that, I swayed on my feet and laid to dream in my tranquility.
