Chapter 8
When Rin woke up, she was laying in a bed. She waited for her vision to focus and she kept her eyes on the ceiling. Her head was throbbing, and the last thing she remembered was seeing the creature turn to light. She heard the door open and looked over to the doorway, seeing Erza walking in.
"Good, you're awake." She said, walking up to Rin. "How are you?"
"Aside from the killer headache I have, I feel fine." Rin said, sitting up. "What happened to me?"
"You don't remember?" Erza asked.
Rin shook her head, "The last thing I remember is seeing that creature turn into light." She looked down at her hands, "After that it's blank until I woke up here." She looked up at Erza, "Where am I anyways?"
"You're in the Lav village infimary. We didn't want to risk brining you back to Fairy Tail in that state, and the mayor allowed us to let you rest up here."
"Oh, that was nice of them." She murmured. She moved her head and looked out the window. What happened to her? Why was the creature so familiar... What was that light? Her eyes widened as she saw a man in a black cloak standing a ways away. She rubbed her eyes and looked back out, the figure was gone. I must be imagining things... She thought to herself.
"So, you don't remember the man calling you the Light Queen?" Erza asked.
Rin looked over at her, and shook her head lightly, "I'm sorry, I really don't remember anything." She said. "But that name seems... Familiar." She said.
"Don't think about it to hard." Erza said. "Once you're better we'll head back to the guild."
Rin stepped out of the bed, "Oh, don't worry, I'm fine. It's just a dull ache." She said.
"Are you sure?"
She nodded, "I'm positive Erza, don't worry."
Erza looked a bit hesitant then she sighed, "If you say your fine then I trust you." She said.
"Thanks." Rin said quietly. She followed Erza out of the room.
Rin followed, and was suddenly encountered by a young man.
"Thank you again for saving me your majesty." He said, smiling and bowing.
Rin looked at him confused. "I-I'm sorry." She said, shaking her head, "I-I'm not a royal. You must have me mistaken with someone else." She said.
"There's no way I'm mistaken!" The man said. "You look just like her!"
Rin just looked at him, she placed her hand on his face, having to reach up. "I'm so sorry. I-I don't remember anything." She muttered, sadness glazed in her eyes. "Please, forgive me." She whispered, moving her hand away and walking back to the team, who were all looking at her.
"What was that all about?" Lucy asked.
"Are you hiding something from us?" Natsu asked.
Rin shook her head, "No! I would never!" She exclaimed. She looked back at the man. "I don't know what he was talking about." She glanced back at the man, who was looking after her sadly. "He confused me with someone else." She muttered.
The three walked to the train station, buying their tickets and boarding the train, heading back to Magnolia, with Natsu passed out on the train.
What that man said to her bothered her. She wasn't a queen, yet he knew her, and he called her the Light Queen, whatever that means. Then she thought of something, The book that fell on her head earlier! The book of forgotten history, maybe something in there talks about it. She looked out the window, antsy to get back to the guild hall.
Soon, they arrived in Magnolia. Rin got out of her chair and walked out of the train.
"You're in a hurry." Lucy stated.
"I want to check something in the library." Rin explained, "It might answer why that man called me the Light Queen." Rin said.
"If you want, I can help." Lucy offered.
Rin thought for a moment. If the book didn't have the answers she wanted, Lucy and her could probably search around for them. "Sure! That would be great!"
Lucy smiled, and the two walked to the guild hall, leaving the others to take care of the past out Natsu back at the train's doorway.
