Chapter 7

When they arrived at the village, Rin looked around to see black volcanic rock houses, each having a shimmering red veil around them, most likely a protection spell from lava.

The team headed to one of the houses, which had gold painted around the doorway and Windows. When the team walked through, the red veil opened, letting them in.

"Hello!" Erza said, "We're the wizards that took your job."

A little man walked out of the shadows, he was short, with striking red hair and a mustache. "Thank you for coming!" The man said, his voice was a bit squeaky. "This monster has been terrifying the villagers, and we fear for our lives."

"That's why we're here!" Natsu exclaimed, "Once we're done this village will be fear free!"

"Thank you so much." The man said. "I'll pay you after the deed has been done."

"Where would we find this monster?" Erza asked.

"There's a cave at the bottom of the volcano." The man explained, "It's home is in there."

The team nodded and left, heading towards the cave.

Halfway there, Rin froze, a vision or memory flashed in her mind,

"The fire demons are too strong! We'll never beat them!" A familiar voice said. The voice wasn't anyone's she knew, it was new, but... She knew the person, that voice somehow. She shook her head, she's imagining things. Rin continued to follow the team, who didn't notice her sudden stop.

Soon, they were at the cave, and Rin felt an unbearable heat coming from the cave.

"Is it just me, or is the air burning up?" Gray said, now in his boxers.

"It's the creature." Rin muttered.

Suddenly, the ground started to shake, something was coming towards them, and soon, a glow was heading out of the cave and out into the open, a loud ear splitting roar emitted from a sharp toothed mouth as the creature comes out into the open.

The beast was similar to the picture, towering over the team and made of molten lava, with inky black eyes and a red ring seemingly floating in the black pool of each eye. It had two large rock horns protruding out of both sides of it's head, along with a long tail dragging behind it, with large spiked rocks protruding out of it.

"This won't be easy, but we'll beat it!" Erza said.

The team agreed and they started to attack it.

"Ice-Make Lance!" Gray shouted out, a lance of ice appeared in his hands and he started to attack the beast.

Rin stayed back, her eyes wide and her breathing heavy. She watched as the team was all knocked back and the monster stampeded towards her. Pushing her hand before her, she shut her eyes and shouted out the first spell that came to mind. "Light Pulse!" She opened her eyes in shock as she saw the largest beam of light coming out of her hand.

When the light dimmed, the monster was clawing at it's eyes, shaking a bit, seeming somewhat damaged. "D-Did I do that?" Rin asked, staring in shock at the blinded monster.

"That was so cool!" Happy said, flying up to Rin.

"That was some strong magic there, especially for a beginner." Erza said, looking over at Rin.

Rin smiled, "I didn't know I could do that!" She said. Then the creature roared, obviously annoyed. Rin looked and saw that it was charging right towards her.

You created me! Why did you hurt me?! A voice rang through her head, and Rin froze, looking straight at the creature. The voice seemingly coming from it.

No. I would never create a monster. I don't have enough power. You must of confused me with someone else. Rin thought, balling her fists and watching as the other's started to fight it. She wanted to join in and help, but her legs just wouldn't move, she was shaking madly, and she turned herself invisible. "What am I d-doing?" She asked herself. She forced herself to become visible again and swallowed her fear, pushing her hand and out and muttering the second spell that came to her mind.

"Firefly." She said. Tiny lights pelted out of her hand and towards the monster, all hitting the already weakened target. After a few more hits from the others, the creature fell to the ground, and it was suddenly engulfed in a bright light.

"Woah, is it supposed to do this?" Natsu asked, standing beside Rin.

Looking at the light, Rin started to walk towards it, not having much control over her legs, or really anything.

"Rin, wait, we don't know if it's dangerous." Erza said.

"It isn't." Rin said, her voice seemed to be full of knowledge, almost like she was a different person. "It's healing."

"What? This bastard can heal?" Gray asked.

Rin didn't respond, she walked up to the giant light and raised her hand. The light moved towards her hand, and she absorbed it. Soon, the large mound of light was now surrounding a small area in the shape of a man.

"You have been healed from the corruption of your magic, go, live in this new era like you would of back then." She said, placing her hand on the mans head.

The light finally dimmed and a young looking man with messy black hair sat up, looking at Rin and smiling, "Thanks you for saving me, Light Queen." He said, his eyes watering. He stood up and walked away from the team, his clothing torn and hanging off him.

Rin turned to the others, a small smile on her face as she watched the man walk away.

"What did he mean by Light Queen?" Natsu asked, looking at Rin.

Rin looked over at him and opened her mouth to say something, when suddenly, the world around her turned black.
