Dates are meant to be fun

So- Applepancakes18 wanted to see this soooo ye also.... this was gonna be liek- very fluffy, but I apparently can't do that without adding angst, so- have fun!

ALSO- I wrote this for way too long- if there are errors I am sorry- I am not editing it rn-

TW- Rape(not super detailed-) , non con kissing, dubious consent, violence, talk of potential dead body, rude barista, swears, kinda a mention of Andrew-

Roman sighed, looking over at the table. They had just eaten breakfast, and now they were bored. Remus was out doing whatever it is Remus does, along with Whitney. Meaning they couldn't hang out with either. A ping came from their phone, and they slowly got up, looking at the screen.

Janus- would you like to go to the ice rink in town with me?

Janus- don't have to :)

Roman hummed, getting up and knocking on their mother's door.

"What's up hun?" Lily asked, inviting Roman in.

"Is it okay if I hang out with Janus? He wants to go ice skating..." Roman mumbled.

"Of course! Do you need a ride or are you gonna walk?" Roman shrugged.

"Eithers fine." Roman said softly.

"Well... how bout this," she said, standing up. "I'll drive you and we can pick up Janus on the way... goodness, you thought about getting your permit yet?" Roman nodded.

"Yeah.... I was thinking about getting my license when I turn 17, that's only a year away or so" Lily nodded, going and grabbing the keys.

Roman- yeah, I'm down, my moms willing to pick you up, or are you like, super close to the rink?

Janus- I can walk it's not super far, thank you tho Ro! Cant wait to see you

Roman smiled softly at the text, quickly slipping their coat on and getting their shoes on too, quickly getting in the car.

"Roman!" Roman flinched, looking around and soon spotting the 5' 3" male running towards them. "Hi!" Janus giggled as he got close to Roman. Roman smiled softly, taking a short bow.

"Prince Roman at your service" Janus giggled again, and Roman grinned at the fact Janus didn't seem to mind their extra ness. Meaning Janus wasn't like Andrew, which calmed them.

"Let's go!" Janus said, pulling Roman towards the booth to grab skates. Roman giggled, following. The two sat down with their skates. "So uh.... how exactly do you skate? Like.. I'm clueless" Janus said with a soft smile. Roman raised a brow.

"Really?" Janus nodded. "Okay, do you know how to tie up the skates?" Janus nodded.

"Watched a video so I wouldn't seem completely clueless" Janus said with a cheeky grin. Roman smiled, standing and helping Janus up. "This is weird..." Roman giggled, leading him to the ice.

"Okay, gonna step on it, keep your feet straight ok? Just glide for now" Janus nodded, hiding a snicker. The two, by Romans instructions, glided around the rink for awhile.

"Can we take a lil break?" Roman nodded, bringing the two to the edge to sit. Janus snickered.

"What?" Roman asked confused and slightly concerned.

"Nothing~" Roman nodded softly, fiddling with his hands. Janus snickered again, quickly tapping a kiss to Romans cheek before getting up and gliding into the ice easily. Romans eyes widened, as flash backs to when Andrew first had started to date them filled their memories. Janus paused, going back to Roman. "You okay?" Roman nodded slowly, rubbing their eyes and taking a deep breath.

"Yeah, sorry" Janus nodded lightly.

"Sorry, didn't mean to freak you out or anything" Roman nodded, standing up and going back to the ice.

"It's okay, I'm guessing you already knew how to skate though huh?" Roman asked with a soft smile. Janus nodded with a grin.

"I did the same thing to Logan" Janus giggled. Roman rolled their eyes playfully, looking around to see it was just them on the ice. "I played hockey for awhile"

"Tag" Roman said, tapping Janus before racing off with a giggle.

"Hey!" Janus called, chasing after them. Roman, once again, found that they were not very fast, and so Janus caught them quickly, wrapping them in a hug. "I win" Janus said softly, "you wanna go get food or something?" Roman chuckled softly.

"Orrrrr, we could just stay like this" Roman hummed softly, turning and hugging Janus back.

"We could, but then we'd get cold"  Roman hummed.

"I guess so" They whined, letting go and pulling Janus off the ice.

"I'd normally say ice cream but your lips are blue" Janus said with a laugh. Roman giggled, pushing Janus lightly.

"Shush, if my dear prince would like some ice cream we shall get some" Roman said extravagantly, just like how they used to. Janus giggled.

"Rooo" He whined. "Stopppp, your making me blush" Roman giggled.

"Good! Now, let's return the skates and go get some ice cream! I know this really nice place that's open year round" Roman said, bringing the two to a bench.

Janus giggled softly, rubbing his nose. Roman grinned, shyly taking Janus' hand.

"I didn't take you for the type to like plain vanilla" Roman mumbled softly.

"I didn't take you for the type to like mint so we're even" Janus grinned. "Besides! It's just ice cream, who cares" Janus said with a soft smile. Roman chuckled, nodding.

"Fair enough.... Can I ask something?" Janus nodded with a hum, looking over at Roman.

"If... If I were to tell the group, something that happened, like, its really bad... How would you all take it?" Janus hummed. "Hypothetical question of course." Janus nodded.

"Well... If someone hurt you... Virgil would go and try to kill them, Patton and I would be trying to comfort you, well, I'd mostly be making sure Virgil doesn't kill the person. I'm not sure what Logan would do, he'd probably be trying to comfort you." Janus explained quickly. Roman nodded softly.

"It was just a hypothetical anyways, but I'm glad to know that" Roman mumbled.

"Are you sure its just a hypothetical?" Janus asked softly. Roman nodded a little too quick, finishing off their ice cream. "Okay.... Well, if you did ever wanna talk were here for you." Roman nodded lightly.

"I know" They whispered.

Roman went home that day with a smile on their face, which lead to questioning by Remus. They simply giggled, pushing it off.

The next day was a school day, and they met up with Virgil.

"Yo!" Virgil called. Roman waved. "Remus!" Remus looked over quickly.

"Yeah?"

"Logan said he wanted to go a date with you and Janus but he's too much of a wimp to tell you" Virgil said with a cheeky grin. Remus nodded.

"Ill talk to him" Roman looked back to Virgil.

"Also, I was gonna ask, I uh, wanna go a date after school tomorrow? Just us?" Roman nodded lightly with a blush, rubbing their neck a little. "I- uh, good? See you right after?" Roman nodded, smiling and taking Virgil hand gently. Virgil smiled, slowly stepping closer to Roman. Their breath hitched, memories fading into place once more, but they squeezed Virgil's hand, shutting their eyes tightly. Virgil looked at them, softly rubbing circles in their hand. Roman took a deep breath, nodding softly to Remus that they were ok before stepping onto the bus.

"Roman!" Patton giggled, hugging them tightly. Roman flinched a little, before patting the bubbly male on the back.

"Hi Patton" Roman said softly. Patton giggled, dragging them to the group.

"Hey Ro" Janus said with a soft smile. Roman waved with a smile.

"I saw the cutest dog on the bus! Like, Lo! Did you the doggie? They were so cute!" Patton giggled, Janus signing for Logan as normal with Patton. Logan nodded softly, taking Remus' hand when he suddenly showed up. "Hi Re!" Patton giggled.

"Hi Patton" Remus said, rolling his eyes playfully.

Roman shook out their hands, fixing their hair in the mirror many times. Someone else entered the bathroom, and Roman quickly left, not wanting to be alone with someone they didn't know. They sighed softly, moving on and going to the front of the school to wait for Virgil. They soon saw him walking up, and they waved a little.

"Hey Ro, ready to go?" Virgil asked lightly. Roman nodded with a smile.

"What do you have planned?"

"Well, maybe a walk down town? I know this really cool old skate park, and the graffiti there is really cool looking, or we could just shop around down town if you wanted" Virgil said quickly. Roman nodded.

"The skate park sounds fun" Roman said, taking Virgils hand shyly. Virgil hummed in delight, quickly pulling Roman into a alley. "I- Virgil?" Roman whispered.

"You know, your just.... too cute Roman" Virgil whispered, pressing himself against Roman, pushing Roman into the wall. Roman was shaking, their eyes pressed shut.

"Please move" Roman whispered.

"Why do that when your in the perfect position to take exactly.... what I want" Virgil growled, kissing Roman roughly. Roman was pushing against Virgil, trying to pull away from the kiss.

"Stop moving" Virgil growled, pushing Roman against the wall again. Romans head slammed against the brick wall, making them dizzy. Their knees started to give out on them, and Virgil grinned wickedly. He let Roman fall to the ground, then crawled on top of them. "Now..." Virgil husked. "I can do whatever I want" He mumbled, biting at Romans neck. Roman did nothing, just laid there, knowing that escape would do them no good, I mean, who could claim rape on their soulmate?

Roman woke up with a jolt, their eyes wide and their hands shaking. They clawed at their shirt, breaths coming out in raspy breaths.

"R-Remus" They whispered, quickly getting up and shaking Remus awake. "R-Re?" Remus turned over, but it wasn't Remus, instead, they saw Patton. Patton giggled.

"Oh Ro," he said getting up. "I thought your rules were to not get out of bed until I'm awake..." Patton pouted with a sigh. "I guess you need a punishment huh..." they shook their head vigorously, the nightmares from before suddenly not mattering. Where was Remus? Patton quickly pushed them onto the bed, straddling Romans hips and grinding down.

"Stop it!" Roman cried, pushing Patton away as best they could. However, Patton was much stronger then he looked, and easily overpowered Roman.

"Oh come on Ro Ro, don't you love me?"

"I- Of course I do-"

"So what's the issue?"

"I'm not in the mood!" Patton scoffed, grinding down on them again.

"I can't believe you don't love me" Romans eyes widened, quickly shaking their head. "See? That's what I thought, now be a good boy okay?" Patton said gently as if he cared. Roman whimpered with a nod. Patton pulled up their shirt a little and sighed, "Ro... you gotta go back on your diet, look at all those stretch marks..." Roman cried as their shirt came off, covering their chest. Roman pushed Pattons wandering hands away from their binder. They didn't notice the surrounding room change into Andrews room.

"It's just a little fabric, you'll take it off if you love me"

Roman woke up again with a jolt, they shivered, tears streaming down their face, they got up quickly, shaking Remus awake. But instead of Remus turning over, it was Logan. Roman quickly backed up, shaking their head.

"Oh come on, don't you love me?" Logan asked, but it wasn't Logan s normal, muttered and almost broken speech. Roman didn't stop to question it or think much about it. Roman shook their head, backing up into the door. Logan's voice was distorted, sounding more like Andrews but Roman didn't notice that either.

"Stop! Go away" Roman yelled as the Logan started to take off Romans shirt.

"You'll do it if you love me Rose" Roman shook their head wildly, pushing Logan, and rushing out the door, only to be throw against the wall by Janus.

"What's my favorite princess doing out here?" Janus asked slyly, his hand running under Roman sweatpants. Roman shivered in disgust, crying out as Janus bit their neck. "Looks like you've been eating too much huh... look at that stomach chub..."

"Stop it, stop it, stop it!" Roman yelled. A loud alarm like noise rang out, jolting Roman from the dream once more. They learned their lesson, they didn't move, they didn't look over at Remus, they just sat there, curled up as much as they could; and sobbed. They felt dirty, they felt like puking too, but they didn't move, too scared of triggering the series of events they were sure were going to happen. When Remus' voice filtered through the haze, their head jolted up.

"Remus!?" Roman cried loudly, their entire body shaking. Instead, they saw Andrew.

"Come on Rosey, let's have some fun" Roman cried loudly, shaking as Andrews hands roamed just like he had always loved to do.

"Go away, please" Roman cried. All they got was a slap to the face.

"Shut your mouth you slut, we both know that your a whore for this" Andrew growled. "You've been eating again huh.... Your so fucking fat" But then... it all disappeared.

Roman shot up in bed for the fourth time, looking around wildly. They looked at Remus' mop of hair, quickly shaking their head and running to the bathroom, locking the door. Their skin crawled in disgust, and their eyes were wide with tears. They crawled to the toilet, puking up nothing but stomach acid.

"Roman?" They heard Remus call.

"It's not him, it's not him" Roman muttered, flinching as another knock came from the door.

"Ro? Are you okay?" Roman whimpered, slowly standing and unlocking the door.

"Re?" Roman whispered, looking up slowly, tension falling away when they realized it was really Remus, they quickly fell into Remus' arms, shaking.

"Hey, Hey, what's wrong?"

"Nightmares...." Roman whispered.

"Okay, let's go sit downstairs okay? Let's get some food in you" Remus said lightly, guiding Roman down the steps.

"N-No food" They mumbled, gripping Remus hand tightly.

"It's okay, just some toast, yeah?" Roman shook their head.

After a long morning of comfort, Roman did explain what had happened in the dreams, and their mother decided best that Roman didn't go to school so she could keep an eye on Roman, and so they could hopefully get some more sleep. Roman whined, feeling bad about the date Virgil had suggested.

"If you feel better, we can talk about it, alright? But don't push yourself to go" Roman nodded softly, curling up on the couch.

It was decided that Roman would go to the date, so they were dropped off at the front of the school, and they waited for Virgil.

"Roman!" Virgil called happily. "I didn't know if you were coming! You okay?" Virgil asked, placing a supposed to be comforting hand in their shoulder. Roman flinched away, and Virgil's eyes widened.

"Please don't touch me..." Roman asked softly. Virgil nodded softly.

"You okay? We can reschedule if your not feeling ok" Virgil suggested.

"I'm okay, just had a rough night, let's go, yeah?" Roman said softly, smiling a little. Virgil nodded with worry coating his features. Roman smiled softly to try and ease the worry.

"Yeah... So, I know this cool old skate park, which, the graffiti there is super cool looking, if you wanna see that, or we could head down the the water, I know this really pretty area" Virgil said, walking towards town. Romans eyes widened.

"I uh, water?" They said quickly, not liking the idea of the skate park because of the nightmares. Virgil nodded with a grin.

"Sure! Plus, since we're closer to town, we can grab a snack if you wanted" Roman nodded softly, relaxing a little. Virgil grinned, quickly running towards the water front. Roman giggled, following after.

Roman grinned as they sat down on a rock by this giant waterfall.

"How did you find this?" Virgil shrugged.

"I use to have a lot of free time, me and Janus would go looking for all sorts of trouble, one time, we went into this tunnel, and the floor was covered in water after awhile, so we have no idea where it leads. It'd be so cool to find out though" Roman nodded softly.

"I mean, I think the water would be frozen by now... it's still pretty cold out, you wanna go check it out?" Roman asked softly. Virgil lit up, nodding quickly.

"Let's go! Come on! It's super close by" Roman laughed lightly, following after Virgil.

"This place is so creepy..." Roman muttered, crouching down, shining their phone light at the opening.

"Part of the appeal I guess!" Virgil giggled, quickly walking in, it was a short tunnel so the two had to crouch a little to walk.

"I swear if I see a dead body I'm running" Roman mumbled. "This is where someone would hide one too. Why did I suggest this?" Virgil shrugged with a giggle.

Thankfully, the two didn't find a dead body, only spiders and lots of cool graffiti art, the tunnel lead simply to another part of town, where a river met the opening. Virgil sighed softly.

"Well that was fun, should I walk you home?" Virgil asked, looking at the time.

"I should walk you home shouldn't I?" Virgil hummed softly.

"I invited you on the date, so technically I would" Virgil explained, helping Roman out from the tunnel. Roman nodded lightly.

"I guess you could, next time I'll walk you home though, yeah?" Virgil nodded with a soft smile, leading the two up a small banking to get to the road. Roman smiled, taking Virgil's hand nervously, Virgil smiled, rubbing soft circles into their hand. Roman sighed in relief, at this point knowing their nightmare wouldn't come true. It was a strange nightmare to begin with, and Roman figured it was because they had time to worry about everything where as with Janus they just got up and went. "Virgil?" Roman mumbled. "I really enjoyed this but... next time, don't give me a day to think it over okay? Just," Roman sighed, not knowing how to put it. "Next time, maybe, just text and we go right then, ok?" Roman mumbled softly, hoping they weren't asking a lot. Virgil frowned lightly, and Roman panicked. "Nevermind actually, it's nothing- uhm- it's fine" Virgil quickly looked over, squeezing Romans hand softly.

"Hey, none of that Ro, if it would be better for you then I'll make sure to do it ok? I was just worried of what made you so worried over it and stuff" Virgil said softly. "I mean, I can tell there's something that happened before you met us, but I won't push for anything, if me asking to go on a date right before it helps you calm down and keep you calm I'm more then willing Ro" Virgil said with a soft smile, Roman sighed in relief.

"Thank you..." Roman whispered.

"Do you want me to tell Logan Patton and Janus too?" Virgil asked. Roman nodded lightly, letting go of Virgil's hand as they made it to their front yard.

"It was an honor to have such a lovely date today Virgil" Roman said with a dramatic bow. Virgil rolled his eyes playfully, shaking his head.

"Okay okay you sap, I had fun too, but it's getting dark" Virgil said playfully. Roman pouted lightly, hesitating before pecking Virgil's cheek, quickly running off into their house with a squeak. Virgil giggled, walking back to his own house.

It was a few days later, and now Patton was asking them on a date, he promised it would be a shorter on, probably an hour at most. But Roman was asked two days in advance, two days to worry about everything. Roman knew Virgil probably said something to the others, which confused and worried Roman on why Patton asked two days before. Roman paced their room nervously, getting a text from Patton asking if they were home alone. Which they were. Roman replied with a yes, questioning why. Patton didn't respond. Instead, a loud knock came from their bedroom door. They opened it, confused to see Patton standing there with a glint in his eyes.

"Oh Ro, look at you," Patton mumbled. "How much have you been eating? Your so fat" Patton sighed. "Come on, we need to get that outta you then we'll have some fun, yeah?" Roman whimpered, trying to pull away from Patton.

"N-No" Roman whispered, as much as they knew Patton was right about being fat, but they didn't want to throw it up, Remus would be so upset if they did that.

"Oh hush Ro, you must not be feeling good, your not thinking clearly" Patton said with his normal bubbly smile.

"I said no Patton" Roman said harsher.

"Excuse me?" Patton growled, whipping around. "You dare to talk back?" He asked sinisterly. Roman tried to pull their hand away again, but it was like it was glued there.

"Get off me Patton! Leave me alone!" Roman whimpered, tugging on the hold again even if it was useless.

"Rose... you better knock it off before I get really mad..." Patton growled. Roman cried out as Pattons nails dug into their skin.

"My name is Roman!" Roman cried, shaking in their spot.

"No it's not... your just confused, come on Rosey, let's have some fun" Roman shook their head. "Rose!" Patton yelled. "You'll do as I say!" Roman whimpered but nodded, biting their lip harshly. "Good girl... let's go now..." Patton giggled, bringing Roman to the bathroom to throw up, after that was...

"Come on Ro, it's just a little piece of fabric..." Patton said with an evil grin. "Don't you love me?" Patton asked, the question repeated over and over and over, getting louder and louder and louder until Roman screamed at the pressure.

"Roman!" Roman flinched, sitting up in shock, hyperventilating and clawing at their chest. They felt like they could barely breath, their skin was crawling in fear and they felt dirty... that always seemed to come back to them, they always felt dirty, it would never go away, no matter how many showers they took, no matter how much skin they took off themself, they'd always be dirty. "Roman! Look at me" Romans eyes searched around, landing on Remus. Roman tried to talk, but nothing came out, furthering their panic, if Andrew came they couldn't call for help, they wouldn't be able to scream, nobody would know. Remus snapped his fingers, drawing Romans attention again. "Breath with me Ro, come on" Remus took Romans hand, placing it on his chest, breathing slowly and dramatic to help Roman copy. Roman whined, barely being able to breathe.

"R-Re" Roman croaked, their breathing calming a little now that they could talk.

"Shhh, it's okay Ro, your okay," Remus comforted, bringing Roman into a soft hug. "Your okay" Remus mumbled against Romans head, "Your okay"

"I-I-I'm ok-okay" Roman mumbled softly.

"That's right" Remus said firmly, pulling away from the hug to look them in the eyes. "You are perfectly safe" Roman nodded, taking a deep breath.

"M sorry" Roman whispered.

"You have no reason to be, I swear if the next words out of your mouth are I'm sorry-"

"They aren't" Roman laughed softly. "I'm okay... I didn't mean to wake you up" Roman muttered.

"That's alright, that's what brothers are for, to help out their siblings, I may be younger but that doesn't matter"

"We are literally twins Remus- we were born in the same few minutes" Roman groaned with a laugh.

"You should be happy your older!" Remus grinned, "besides that, we should go get some breakfast, I doubt you'll be able to go back to sleep, and it's only 5" Roman nodded, standing up with Remus. Roman sighed, rubbing their eyes a little before following Remus out the room.

"Roman! Remus!" Patton yelled with a giggle, Roman flinched with a whimper, hiding by Remus. Patton faltered, looking at Virgil and Janus, who both had a worried look.

"It's alright Roman" Remus comforted. They nodded softly, rubbing their arm a little.

"Ro? You good?" Virgil asked lightly. She went to lay a comforting hand on them, but they flinched away. Roman tugged on Remus' coat.

"They had a nightmare again, so Ro's a little jumpy" Remus explained. Janus nodded softly.

"That's not alright Roman" Janus said softly, not noticing the lie. Roman looked down, and Janus realized. "Wait no, ugh, sorry, my brains being screwy again, it's alright Roman, it happens to the best of us" Janus explained. Virgil nodded, as did Patton. Roman nodded a little, clutching at their arms.

"M sorry" they mumbled. Patton frowned a little.

"Why's that kiddo? You didn't do anything wrong, not your fault you had a nightmare"

"Kinda is though, I'm the one who let him do th-" Roman cut themself off, realizing where that was going.

"Who do what?" Virgil asked, Remus looked at Roman, then to the group, minus Logan who wasn't there yet.

"Shit happened awhile back, and if Roman doesn't want to talk about it yet they don't have to" Remus said a little harsh. Patton jumped in surprise.

"That's alright" Janus hummed softly, "if you aren't ready then you aren't ready, we'll be here for you when you are though ok?" Roman nodded, leaning on Remus a little.

"Well... now it feels like a bad time" Patton mumbled softly, twiddling his thumbs.

"What does?" Roman asked.

"Well, I was gonna see if you wanted to go on a date today, after school obviously, but if you aren't doing ok,"

"No, No, I'm fine, just jumpy, I can go" Roman jumped in quickly, not wanting to hurt Pattons feelings.

"You don't have to Roman" Remus said softly, Roman shook their head.

"I'm fine" They said softer. Patton nodded softly.

"Just meet me out front ok? It'll only be a few hours!" Patton said with a small smile. Roman nodded, jumping at the sound of the bell.

Classes went slowly, far too slowly, meaning Roman had lots of time too think, mostly thinking about their dream, but also of what could go wrong. But it wasn't too bad, they could still go with Patton. They quickly went to the bathroom as the end of the day bell rung, quickly trying to fix their messy hair. However, they heard a large bang, and almost jumped out of their skin. They quickly left the bathroom after that.

"Roman!" Patton yelled as normal. Roman still flinched, but relaxed a little after the fact.

"Hey Pat" Roman said with a soft smile.

"You ready to go?" Roman nodded lightly, adjusting their bag a little. "Okay! Follow me!" Roman nodded again, following after Patton.

"What are we doing?"

"Well... I was thinking about going to the animal shelter and helping them out! They have some really cute puppers that I think you'll love!" Roman laughed lightly.

"I'm sure I will" Patton nodded, starting to ramble about some of the dogs there.

"Patton! Hey!" A worker said, lighting up.

"Hey Andrew!" Patton greeted, talking with them about how he and Roman were planning on walking the dogs. Roman tensed at the name though, looking them over to make sure it wasn't actually the Andrew they knew. No tension released from their shoulders even when they figured out it wasn't Andrew. Mostly because the two were so similar. They had the same face shape, the same name, the same hair color... but not the same voice. That was really the only thing that was different. "Ro? You good kiddo?" Roman looked at Patton quickly, nodding slightly. "Okay.. let's sign in, yeah?" Roman nodded again, looking to the sign in sheet Patton handed to them.

"So... which dogs are we walking?"

"Well, I was thinking Jelly and Creme, Jelly is a black lab, and Creme is a Husky!" Patton explained. "They get along super good! And the two are super easy to walk." Roman nodded lightly.

"Which one should I walk?" Patton hummed a little.

"Well, whichever one you want! The two are both super friendly"

"Can I walk Creme then?" Patton nodded.

"Oh! If Creme slips her harness again, just call for her and she'll come back, she just gets excited" Roman nodded with a nervous smile, walking with Patton into the kennel area which was very loud. They looked around quickly from all the noise, looking to grasp onto something. They took Pattons hand. Patton looked at them, before pulling them in the direction of Jelly and Creme. The husky was basically vibrating in place, her tail wagging happily, while Jelly was laying down, her tail thumping against the blankets she laid on softly.

"Hey there Creme" Roman said softly, petting her through the cage. The husky yipped happily, and Roman smiled.

"So, all you gotta do is take her leash from the cage door, and slowly open it and clip her." Patton explained, showing what he meant by doing it with Jelly, who got up quickly once she realized she was going on a walk. "When we come back we need to wash out the bowls and change the blankets" Roman nodded, copying what Patton did, and successfully getting Creme on the leash.

"Where are we going?" Roman asked lightly, petting Creme a little.

"The walking trail! It's super short but perfect for the puppers" Roman nodded, following Patton.

"That was fun Patt" Roman said softly with a small smile after the two had finished.

"I'm glad you had fun! Do you wanna go on a walk with me then we can head home?" Roman nodded a little, taking Pattons hand.

"Lead the way" They said softly. Patton nodded, taking the two to a park Patton the we often in. "I'm sorry for this morning" Roman said softly, rubbing their neck a little.

"It's okay kiddo! Do you wanna talk about what happened?" Roman shook their head quickly.

"Maybe one day... but not right now" Roman mumbled. Patton nodded.

"That's ok kiddo! You ready to head back?" Roman nodded, walking with Patton to his house.

"Thanks for walking me home kiddo!" Patton giggled. Roman nodded with a soft smile.

"Of course, my house is kind far from here so it just made sense" Patton nodded, hugging Roman before waving and walking inside. Roman smiled, walking home. Maybe these dates weren't all that bad, and maybe they could calm down enough to enjoy the date more. They couldn't be sure though. A ping rang out, scaring Roman half to death.

Logan- Are you free until 8:00? I would like to go watch the stars and go to a cafe if you are. Not in that order obviously

Roman read the text quickly, narrowing their eyes in thought.

Roman- hey mom is it ok if me and Logan go on a date? I'll be back around 9 I think?

Birth Giver- yeah sure, just make sure to eat dinner while your out

Roman- okay thank you mom!

Roman-yeah sure, just need to grab a thicker coat, where should we meet up? And when?

Logan- Well it is only 6, so if you want to stay home for a little I could come get you at 7, or we could just go to the cafe and get drinks before heading to dinner, since we'll be out so late, then go to a field to stargaze.

Roman- Meeting up now is fine, like I said just need to grab a thicker coat, where are we meeting?

Logan- I believe that the store that's right in between our houses would work, I know a short cut to town from there

Roman hesitated at the word short cut, as that normally meant alleys and hidden areas, which made them tense, but it was Logan, Logan had never shown any evidence of being like him. But still. Non of them had in all reality. But that meant nothing to Romans mind.

Logan- Roman? Are you alright?

Roman nodded to themself softly.

Roman- Yeah, Yeah, I'm okay. And that's fine I uh, I'm almost home. I'll see you soon?

Logan- Okay, see you soon Ro

Roman smiled softly, looking up the block at their house. They jogged a little, getting to the front door in a reasonable amount of time. They grabbed a thick coat, waving bye to their mother.

"Hey Lo" Roman smiled, watching as Logan waved.

Are you ready to go? To the cafè I mean.

Logan wrote in a note pad, passing it to Roman quickly. Roman nodded with a smile.

"Is there a way for us to communicate better... or will it always be you writing.. I feel bad" Roman asked lightly, Logan chuckled, waving them off.

"With time, I hope you learn ASL" Logan said, his speech was slurred, but it was slowly getting better. Roman smiled, nodding.

"And I hope that we can fix your hearing one day" Roman said with a soft smile. Logan smiled softly, giving Roman a soft hug after a murmur of consent.

"Let's go to the cafe? You ready?" Roman nodded softly, taking Logan's hand, Logan lead the two through back alleys and dark streets, making Roman tense but they tried to stay at least a little calm. "Are you alright Roman?" Logan asked, looking over at Roman. They nodded a bit tense, but nodded nonetheless. "Well, we're here" Logan said with a soft smile, opening the door for Roman. Roman muttered a thank you, regardless to the fact Logan couldn't hear them. Logan smiled, waving to the barista, looking back down to Roman. "What do you want? They have hot cocoa, tea, coffee" Logan asked.

"I- I can order though Lo! It's okay! What do you want?" Roman said panicking a little. Logan chuckled softly, waving Roman off.

"I need to get better with my speech don't I? What better way to?" Roman nodded slightly, asking for a small hot cocoa, Logan raised a brow, making sure they saw it right. Roman nodded, and Logan narrowed his eyes slightly, but ordered nonetheless. Or well, tried to.

"Hello what can I get for you today?"

"Hi- can I get a"

"I'm sorry sir, but I can't understand you" The barista basically snapped. Roman growled practically inaudible though, Logan cleared his throat and tried again.

"I- My apologizes, can I have-" The barista cut him off, looking to Roman.

"Why don't you just order since your friend here obviously can't make his words clear" Roman growled.

"He's deaf, he's trying his hardest to talk, he insisted on ordering for us, and you can understand him perfectly fine. You just don't want to take your head out of your ass to listen." Roman snapped before realizing how rude they were being, shying away a little right after. The barista scoffed, turning back to Logan who was looking at Roman with a shocked but also proud look.

"What do you want?" The girl growled basically.

"A chai tea, medium, and a hot cocoa, small" The barista rolled her eyes, flicking her hair from her face.

"10.73" she muttered, Logan paid quickly, smiling over at Roman who was grabbing their own money. Roman stuck their tongue out at him, giggling as Logan did the same.

"You didn't have to do that Roman... you could've just ordered instead" Logan muttered, it barely being understandable.

"It's okay Lo! She was being mean to you, I wasn't going to let that happen" Roman explained softly, leaning into Logan's side hug. "Even if I was in the wrong a little or a lot, I'm not letting anyone hurt you, or anyone in the group" Roman muttered to themself, smiling softly as the drinks were placed on the counter. Roman quickly grabbed them, bringing the tea over to Logan. "Here ya go!" Roman giggled. Logan smiled softly, taking it with a nod.

"Thank you" Logan mumbled, taking a sip. Roman nodded.

"Where to now?" Roman asked lightly, throwing away their now empty cup. Logan hummed a little.

"Well, I suppose we should head to dinner now, seeming as that was the plan yes?" Roman nodded with a smile, taking Logan's hand and dragging him along... before realizing they had no idea what restaurant they were going to. They looked back to Logan, who smiled, leading the way.

Roman shuffled a little nervously in the Olive Garden, glancing around the packed restaurant. They looked at Logan, who was looking around a little, mostly waiting in the line. Roman bit their lip, seeing that the waitress was scrambled, and heard that it would be about an hour wait time before they could be seated. They tugging on Logan's long sleeve, and Logan looked down quickly.

"We should go somewhere else I think, if that's ok obviously but- I uh- I- the- the waitress person thingy- said the wait time to be seated is like... an hour?" Logan nodded with a soft smile.

"I agree then, my grandparents have a nice little restaurant further down town if you'd like to go there, it's normally pretty quiet" Logan said, taking Romans hand. Roman nodded quickly, and walked out with Logan. Logan lead the two to a smaller place, it honestly looked like a house, they were surprised it was a restaurant. Logan must've noticed the confusion. "My grandparents lived here for most their life, and then decided they wanted a business, and just made it out of their home. Something about the fact all the food was home made and so it would feel like it too." Logan said with a chuckle. Roman giggled, nodding along.

"How long has it been since you've seen them?" Roman asked softly. Logan frowned, stopping the two.

"I can't remember if I've told you, however, I wasn't born, deaf, Roman" Roman nodded softly, rubbing a circle in Logan's hand. "I became deaf, in freshman year... and I hadn't seen them for two years before that. So I haven't seen them five years. When I had become deaf, I didn't want pity..." Logan started to explain, continuing to walk with Roman. "And so... I hid myself away, I didn't talk to any family other then my parents. I haven't seen them in ages..." Logan sighed. "I hope they take well to me just showing up all of a sudden" Roman nodded softly.

"I'm sure they will, it's family isn't it? They'll understand I'm sure" Roman said softly. Logan nodded, taking a deep breath.

"Let's go in... shall we?" Roman nodded, dragging Logan into the small house like restaurant.

"Hello there!" A older woman said with her back turned. "How are you doing today? Please have a-" she turned, stopping at the sight of Logan. She covered her mouth, slowly walking up to him. 'Oh my goodness... my child...' Logan stood with an agape mouth.

'When did you learn sign...' Logan asked, Roman obviously stood there with confused wonder.

'When I heard about what happened obviously... why wouldn't I?' Logan shook his head.

'Nows not the time to worry about that right now, me and Roman came for a quick bite to eat...' the women raised a brow, looking over to Roman.

"Now... are you my dear boys soulmate or just a friend hm?" Roman chuckled nervously, glancing at Logan a few times.

"I uh- I yeah. I'm his soulmate... well, one of them?" Roman whispered, staying very close to Logan.

"Oh that's so nice... okay okay, come now, let's go get you two a seat," she said, taking the two to a cozy table. "'Here's the menus, but first let's start you off with some drinks yes? We have water of course, tea, coffee,'"

"I'll have some water please?" Roman asked softly. The women nodded, looking to Logan.

'Just, a chai tea? Would that be alright?' Logan said softly. She nodded with a smile, walking off to the back room. "My grandmother is a strange one, she's lovely.. but can be a lot"

"So like Patton?" Logan giggled a little, nodding.

"Yes, oh my god, that sums it up perfectly" Logan laughed. Roman giggled.

After a long dinner with Logan's grandmother, and lots of goodbyes and hugs and such, the two were off to a field Logan knew of.

"I can't wait for you to see the field, it's lovely, it has flowers all around" Roman hummed, tense but also calm, tense because of the dark that seemed to try and swallow them full, but calm because they were with Logan, and Logan promised to always be there for them. All of them did. Roman was safe with each of their soulmates. They knew that, but that didn't stop the memories that always surfaced. Roman stopped as they entered the field, amazed by the flowers that surrounded them.

"It's so pretty..." Roman whispered. Logan smiled, leading them to the middle of the field. The two lid down, after Roman grabbed some flowers of course. They twirled the stem of the flower in between two of their fingers, laying next to Logan with a soft smile. Logan pointed to a small cluster of stars.

"That's the ares constellation" Logan explained. He pointed to another set. "And that's Andromeda" Roman nodded softly, laying their head on Logan shoulder. Logan stuttered a little. "I- That's Perseus" Roman nodded softly. "And then that's Triangulum, I hate that one, it's so stupid, it's a triangle, Like- that's it!" Logan said with a laugh, humming softly after. Roman chuckled a little too, curling into Logan's side as a cold breeze bit at their ears. Roman huffed while Logan laughed. Roman chuckled a little.

"Thank you Lo..." Roman mumbled. Logan ran his fingers through their soft hair, lulling Roman to sleep. Which was an amazing achievement, Roman hadn't been able to sleep very well at the sleep over, because of someone else being there. But now, they were able to fall asleep on Logan, they were making progress.

Roman didn't know what happened after they fell asleep, all they knew was they woke up back at home with Logan no where to be seen. Roman didn't know if that was good or bad, but they did know they missed the company of everyone, not just Logan. They sighed, curling up on their bed, a soft sigh coming from them. A question they had been asking themself came to the front of their mind.

When should I tell them?

The question repeated loudly, over and over and over and over, creating a large pressure like feeling. They grabbed their phone, clicking into the group chat.

Roman- We need to have a sleep over, I need to tell you guys something

They sighed, putting their phone back, listing to the dings going off rapidly. They pushed it away, going downstairs to eat. They needed to keep their mind off what he did if they were going to explain it later.  If they thought of it now they'd chicken out and wouldn't say anything. That just couldn't happen. They had to tell them all. And they were going to.
