Alex POV

I was getting more worried. Gabby's leg was still bleeding. I knelt beside her and started to lick it. Gabby yelped and pulled her leg back.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?", she asked. 

"Well, how else am I suppose to clean it?", I asked. Gabby sighed and nodded for me to continue. I kept licking the leg until it was almost  completely clean of blood. Then I sat beside her.

I could see a bit of sadness in her eyes. 

"Gabby, smile", I said.

"Huh?", she said confused. I gave a happy bark.

"Smile!! C'mon smile. Its no fun to see you like this", I stated. Gabby chuckled and smiled.

"Sorry, I was just worried", she said.

"What are you worried about?", I asked.

"I guess I'm just worried the others will be able to find us", she admitted.

"No way, we were too fast for them to catch up to. I highly doubt that they can find us", I stated. 

"The trail leads this way" Gabby and I perked up. That was Magane's voice. Gabby stood up.

"We have to go, NOW", she stated. She got and winced slightly at her leg.

"What about your leg?", I'm asked.

"I'll be fine, hurry. We need to go", she urged. I followed her deeper into the forest.

"There they go" That was Ulric's voice. We ran faster and faster. Soon we came across a large wooden bridge that crossed a giant cliff.

"Seriously? Get across", Gabby said. She went first and carefully went across. I heard the footsteps of the others behind me. 

"Hurry!!", I urged. Gabby finally got to the other side and I burned the bridge into ashes.

"ALEX!! Now how are you gonna cross?", she asked panicked. I backed up a bit, then sprinted forward.

"Oh my God Alex don't you DARE", Gabby yelled. I ran to the edge and then jumped with all my might. I almost didn't make it and had to grab the edge of the other cliff. Gabby grabbed the scruff of my neck and pulled me up.

"DON'T, do anything stupid like that again", she growled. I giggled.

"But it was fun", I stated. Gabby sighed.

"What am I gonna do with you?", she asked. 

Author POV

"I saw them, I know I did", Crona stated. We ran over to cliff. They somehow managed to make it across themselves.

"How the hell did they cross this thing? Its at least 30 feet", Ulric said. Ryuga stared at the 2 Demon Hounds. Gabby glared at him while Alex gave him a look of guilt. Then they bolted deeper into the forest.

"So how do we get across?", Crona asked. Ulric simply flew across the cliff.

"Well, my problem is solved", he stated.

"Ulric, go after the girls, we'll catch up", Ryuga called out. Ulric nodded and flew after them. Ryuga stared down at the cliff. Izaya did the same.

"My, this is a pretty deep cliff", he stated with a smirk.

"Izaya, now is not the time for smart ass remarks", Ryuga snapped. Izaya shrugged.

"I'm just trying to light up the mood", he said. Ryuga sighed. Then he looked at Crona and Magane.

"You guys got any ideas?", he asked.

"Wish I did", Crona replied. Magane beamed.

"What if the bridge were that was here magically repaired itself", she chimed.

"There was a bridge here?", Crona asked.

"Of course, I've wandered this forest a million times and always saw a bridge here, those girls must've destroyed it", she explained.

"Not the point you stupid liar, there is no way the bridge would just be fixed magically like that", Ryuga snapped. Magane snapped her fingers.

"A lie about a lie. It turns itself inside out", Magane chanted. Suddenly the bridge reappeared out of no where. Everyone stared at it blankly for a moment. Magane looked at them confused.

"You guys ok?", she asked.

"H-H-How did you d-do that?", Crona asked. Magane giggled.

"I'll explain later", she said. Izaya looked at her curiously.

"Very interesting, I definitely will wanna hear about that later", he stated. He couldn't help but wonder what secrets she was hiding.

"Aren't we wasting time? The girls are gonna get away", Magane urged. Ryuga snapped out of his shock and nodded in agreement.

"She's right, let's go", he said. The 3 of them quickly crossed the bridge and went to find the others.

Alex POV

"Alright, I think we lost them", I chimed. Gabby stopped suddenly.

"What's wrong?", I asked.

"Someone is following us", she stated. My eyes widened.

"WHAT? But I burned the bridge to ashes", I stated.

"Sorry to disappoint but that doesn't work on me" We both jumped to see Ulric behind us. Gabby growled at him.

"Stay away from us", she barked. Ulric looked at us confused.

"Sorry, say that again", he said. Gabby barked again, then remembered we can't talk to others.

"Damn, I forgot about that", I admitted.

"I don't understand you guys but will you please just come with me?", he asked annoyed.

"Run!!" Gabby yelled at me. The 2 us bolted once again. I could hear Ulric cursing from behind us.

"What now Gabby?", I asked. She remained silent. 

"Gabby?", I repeated. I didn't want Gabby to go through the pressure. I stopped and turned around.

"Alex, what are you doing?", she asked worried. I used my fire breath so the others wouldn't find us.

"Move move", I urged. As we ran Gabby looked at me confused.

"You do know that wont last long in the rain, right?", she asked. 

"......dammit", I said.

Author POV 

Everyone looked around, seeing Ulric running.

"Where are they?", Ryuga asked.

"They're too fast, even for me", he said. They stopped at a large fire.

"Dammit!! Now what?", Ryuga growled.

"Well, it is raining out. The fire shouldn't go one for that long", Crona stated. As soon as he finished that sentence the fire was extinguished by a sudden down pour.

"Right, shall we go then?", Izaya asked. And so the chase continued.
