Gabby's POV

This has been by far the most boring week of our lives. Being locked up inside for seven whole days. No missions. No training. Just reading the same books, playing the same board/ card games, and watching the same shows from the television. Even worse, since we had so much free time, Roy had us help him with A LOT of paperwork. I thought for sure I was gonna lose my mind! But finally, the morning of the eighth day came. We all waited eagerly by the front door that morning. Roy and Stein stood in front of us.

"I know your all eager to go get some fresh air, but I hope you've learned about disobeying and lying to us. So, have you?" Roy said.

"Yes sir." we all said in unison. Roy smiled.

"Alright then, without a due, go ahead and enjoy this nice weather. You need it." Roy said. With that he opened the door and stepped aside. We all stepped out into this beautiful morning. I took a deep breath and sighed happily.

"Man did I miss this." I said.

"No kidding! I started to forget what the outside looked like!" Magane said.

"Isn't that a little dramatic?" Ulric asked. Magane shrugged.

"Maybe to you." she said.

"I'm with her on this one." Envy said. Alex kneeled down and picked a small pink flower.

"Its nice to see flowers again." she said with a smile. She came over to me and put the flower in my hair. 

"There, looks good." she said. I blushed.

"Uh well, I'm not much of a flower person." I said. I took it out and put it in her hair instead.

"There, even matches your outfit." I said. Alex smiled and giggled. Stein clapped his hands together.

"Alright everyone listen up. I decided to put on a special training exercise challenge so that you can get used to doing some action." he said. We all looked at him curiously.

"What's that Professor?" Crona asked. Stein smirked.

"How do you all feel about......races?" Stein asked. I perked up.

"Race?" I asked excitedly. Stein nodded.

"This is the deal. All of you must run all the way to the other side of the town, then run back. Whoever can make it back here first, wins a nice surprise breakfast." he said.

"Oooh! What kind?" Magane asked.

"It wouldn't be much of a surprise if I told you now would it?" Stein said.

"Hell yeah! I'm in!" I said.

"I want that breakfast!" Alex stated.

"Not if I get it first!" Magane stated.

"Please, I'll just fly above all of you while you tire up your poor legs." Ulric said.

"Ulric, there will be no flying." Stein said.

"What?! Dammit. Oh well, won't matter. I'll still win." Ulric said. I smirked and giggled.

"In your dreams fleabag." I muttered. Ulric eyed me.

"What was that? Did you say something frost bite?" he asked amusingly.

"There's no need for this. I'll be the one to win so you all might as well give up now." Envy boasted. Izaya smirked and chuckled.

"I guess we'll just have to see." Izaya said. Ryuga shrugged.

"I don't know. This doesn't seem so interesting to me. I think I'll stay out of this one." he said.

"What?! But Ryuga, please stay! It'll be fun! Pleeeeeaaaaasssssse!" Alex whined.

"Whining like that won't convince me anymore." Ryuga stated. He started to head back inside. Alex was about to go after him when I placed a hand on her shoulder and stopped her.

"I got this." I whispered. I cleared my throat.

"Don't worry Alex, let him go. I guess the great Dragon Emperor is just too afraid of losing. Such a shame." I said. Ryuga stopped dead in his tracks and glared back at me.

"What was that?" he asked in a low threatening voice. All eyes were on me. I smirked.

"Yeah, I thought you would have the strength and courage to face any challenge. But I suppose your afraid of losing to all of us. Such a disappointment. The great Dragon Emperor.......actually being a small little lizard, scurrying off into the bushes." I said. Ryuga's whole aura practically glowed with rage while everyone did a whole chorus of:

"Ooooooooooooooooh!" 

"Your gonna pay for saying that." he stated. I leaped back to the front gate.

"You gotta catch me first! All of you do!" I stated. With that I ran off into town.

"She's getting the lead! GO!" Envy said. I took my wolf form and ran into the town. As I ran I saw people staring at me, some screaming with fright. I only giggled as I kept running. 

"Hey frost bite!" called a voice. I looked to my right to see Envy jumping from building tops to catch up with me.

"Uh oh." I thought.

"Don't forget me!" called a voice to my left. I looked over to see Ulric doing the same as Envy was doing. They both ran ahead, close to a clothes line. They cut the line and it was heading towards me. I yelped as the clothes covered my face. I tried to shake it off but it was difficult with the strings. Once I did shake it off, I was running straight into an apple stand. I tried to stop but ran right into it, apples rolling everywhere.

I struggled to get up, seeing Magane, Izaya, and Alex running past me. I transformed out of my wolf form and started running.

"Dammit Envy! Ulric! That was cheating!" I stated.

"There is no cheating! You just need to win!" Magane called. I thought about it.

"Is that so?" I said. I froze the ground, trapping Magane and Izaya in their tracks.

"What?! Hey!" Magane whined. Izaya only frowned. I ran past them, a giggling mess. 

"Sorry! Not really!" I said. I kept on running, losing sight of Alex. 

"Darn it, where did she go?" I said. Suddenly I saw a bunch of.....black dots in the air? Wait!

"Bloody Needle!" I heard Crona cry out. A bunch of bloody needled blocked my way.

"What?! No fair!" I said. I looked behind me to see Crona catching up.

"Crap! Where now?" I said. I leaped up on top of some buildings and started running there. Up ahead I saw Envy and Ulric. I came closer upon Envy.

"Envy!" I called. He looked back at me and his eyes widened.

"Oh crap!" he said. I leaped up, hopped onto his back, and jumped all the way over to Ulric's side. Ulric growled and tried to catch up.

"Get back here!" he said. I smirked and kept running.

"Oh no! Is the big bad wolf gonna catch me? So scary." I said. Ulric was coming closer. Envy gritted his teeth and stretched his arm out to grab me. I waited for a moment, then leaped ahead in time for Envy to grab Ulric and not me.

"Wrong wolf Envy!" Ulric snapped. Envy sighed and dropped Ulric.

"Dammit." he muttered. I smirked and ran ahead. Soon I was at the other end of the town. I smiled.

"Yes! Halfway!" I said.

"GABBY!" I heard a voice roar. I froze and looked to my right, to see Ryuga charging for me.

"You better start running!" he said with a scary smile. I yelped and transformed into my wolf form, running back to Central. I ran and ran, hearing Ryuga behind me. He was getting closer and closer. Did I piss him off that badly? Unfortuneatly to Ryuga, him chasing me only fueled me even more to run. But once we were halfway out of town, I had an idea. As I ran, my paws left an ice trail, which then made Ryuga slip and fall on his ass. I barked in victory as her cursed loudly.

Soon enough I was almost to Central building. I smiled and sped up. Soon I heard a lot of voices behind me. I glanced behind me to see all of our friends running at full speed to catch up. And they were REALLY close to me. I was worried now. But then a fireball hit in front of them all, and Alex emerged out of the flames in her fox form.

"BREAKFAST!" she barked as she ran up to me. Now we were side by side, using all of our energy to make it to the front gate. Stein waited there. Alex and I were neck and nack, desperate to win. Soon enough, we both ran through the gate at once, collapsing afterwards. Soon enough all our friends caught up, panting hard.

"I didn't think you'd be the kind of girl to do something like that Alex-chan." Izaya said with a smirk.

"She came out of nowhere!" Ulric said. I sat up.

"Who won? Who won!?" I barked.

"Gabby, your a wolf. You can't talk remember?" Crona said. I groaned. I always forgot that. I transformed out into my human form. Alex did the same.

"Who won?" she asked. Stein smiled.

"You and Gabby tied. You both win the surprise breakfast." he said. Alex cheered as most of our friends groaned. I looked at Ryuga.

"Hey, sorry I said that stuff earlier, I was just trying to get you to race." I said. Ryuga looked away.

"Whatever." he muttered. But I saw the small smile.

"Your not bad though." he admitted. Alex and I smiled at each other. That was fun!
