Alex POV

An awkward silence overcame as we walked. I wanted to break the ice but didn't know what to say. Luckily I didn't have to when Envy finally spoke up.
"Hey kid, where did you come from?", he asked.
" You're actually interested?", I said surprised.

"Not really but I got nothing better to do so I figured I'd at least make some small talk", he admitted. I shrugged.
" Well its hard to explain", I stated.
"Lay it on me", he said.

I told the big lie that Gabby told the others. Envy surprisingly listened to the whole story.
" I see, I was kinda curious cause you 2 came out of nowhere", Envy explained. I gulped.
I was glad he fell for it.

Then we came into a room and my eyes widened. It was the same crystals I saw in my second vision. The crystals were everywhere.
There was an assortment of colors from red to orange and pink and blue as well as many others.

"Its like a rainbow in here", I stated. Envy nodded.
" Kinda huh?", he said.
I picked one up and held it. A large smile came across my face.

"So shiny", I said all child-like. As I obsessed over the colorful crystals Envy looked at me like I was crazy.
" Seriously? You know they're not that special right?", he said.
I looked at him.

"But I love colorful and shiny things", I chimed. Envy continued to stare as I kept my focus on the crystals.
After a bit I heard him chuckling. I looked at him confused.
" What's so funny?", I asked.

"You. Damn kid, you are something else", he said still laughing. He stopped and gave me a more serious look.
" We should keep moving", he urged. I groaned, put the crystals down, and we continued on.
"Do you know why Father has all these?", I asked.
" Not sure", Envy replied. As we headed toward the next room I look over to see a red button.

The moment I saw it I wanted to push it. I didn't know what it do though. I stopped walking and stared at it. I bit my lip. I can't do it. Envy noticed what I was doing.

He simply walked up and pushed the button. I panicked.
"Wha-Why did you do that?", I asked.
" You made me curious", Envy replied.

"But who knows what it even did", I yelled. Suddenly the place shook a bit. We both backed up against the wall.
" What's happening?!", I asked.
"No clue!!", he yelled back. Suddenly just like that the ground stopped shaking. I didn't dare move.

" You sure you don't know what just happened?", I asked. Envy looked at the button and his eyes widened.

"This can't be good", he said. I gulped.
" What can't be good?", I asked, worried about the answer.
"Well I think we just released the guardian of the tower", he stated.

" The guardian?", I said.
"Yeah, its Father's giant crystal dragon he has to keep this tower safe", Envy explained. I gulped.

" Where do you think it is?", I asked.
"Outside most likely", he replied.
" Will my friends be ok?", I asked.
Envy gave a sympathetic look, but it was replaced quickly with a smirk.
"If they aren't dead yet, they will be here soon", he stated. I became more worried.

" No no no no, my sister could be up there. That dragon must be huge. She still might be hurt from the last mission. What if I escape and she's-", I suddenly felt choked up, unable to finish the sentence.

I sat down, trying to calm down. I haven't been this worried in awhile. I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up to see Envy.

"Kid listen, don't go freaking out on me now ok", he said.
" B-But what about Gabby?", I asked panicked. Envy sighed.
"I've seen her and your friends fight, I'm sure they'll be able to handle themselves", he stated.

" You mean it?", I asked. Envy nodded.
"I do. They'll be fine. I'm sure of it", he assured. I was shocked. I didn't Envy would care. But here he was, trying to comfort me.

I smiled at him.
" Thanks Envy, that means a lot to me", I stated. Envy pulled away.
"Don't get the wrong idea. I just wanna get out of here. And you panicking won't solve anything", he scoffed.

I stood up happily.
" You're right, it won't help", I said. I started to run ahead.
"Where the hell are you going?", Envy called out. I stopped and looked back at him.

" What's it look like, I'm taking the lead", I chimed.
"I thought that was my job", Envy snapped.
" Not anymore", I chimed. Envy sighed.
"Well at least wait up", he called out. I kept running deeper, with Envy on my tail.

Author POV

Gabby looked at Ulric. She was slightly alarmed that he could kill so easily.
" Ulric, you why did you kill them?", she asked.
"I didn't have a choice", he said flatly.
" Yes you did, we could have captured them and brought them back for interrogation ", Gabby pointed out.

" You think we haven't tried that option? We still have so many prisoners from those damn punks but they never talk. Our only choice is to completely eliminate the enemy", Ryuga explained.

"Seriously? There's no other option?", Gabby asked.
" I'm afraid so", Izaya said. Gabby frowned. Crona gave Gabby a guilty look.
"Sorry Gabby, but that's how it works", he said sadly.

Suddenly the ground shook like crazy, interrupting her thoughts. It made everyone fall.
" What the hell?", Ryuga said. The shaking finally stopped and everyone got back up.

"Is everyone alright?", Izaya asked.
" Yeah, but what was that?", Gabby asked. Magane pointed to the sky.
"I think it was that", she said. Everyone looked up and gasped.

The creature landed in front of them, revealing the huge crystal dragon.
Gabby gulped.
" Not. Good.", she said weakly. It roared loudly at all of them.
