Author's POV

The train ride back to Central was kinda quiet. Gabby was still motionless, except for her slow breathing. Magane kept looking at her, her heart swelling with guilt.

"Magane." Ulric said. Magane looked at him. He sat in the seat in front of her. Ulric gave her a sympathetic look.

"She's gonna okay. We'll get her to our medic and she'll be better in no time." he said.

"Yeah! That's right! So please don't worry too much okay." Alex chimed. Magane looked at the ground.

"Its my fault....she saved me....even though I tried to kill you all." she said weakly. She hugged her legs closer to her body.

"Its all my fault...." she said. Alex and Ulric frowned.

"Don't say that. You explained what happened, and we understand. Ruruka and the others forced you to do this. So don't you dare blame yourself." Alex said.

"But....its true...." Magane said. There was a moment of silence, then Izaya spoke up.

"So what?" he replied. All eyes were on him. He looked Magane into her piercing yellow eyes.

"You made a mistake. That's what humans do. Its nothing unnatural." he said. Izaya smiled.

"What matters is that you learn from your mistake right?" he said. Magane's eyes widened.

"Besides, your away from them now. You can come with us now." Alex said.

"Right, you can make up for what you did by helping us protect others." Ryuga said with a confident smirk. Crona sat next to her and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Trust me, you weren't just manipulated by Ruruka. It was Medusa as well. Trust me when I say she is not something anyone can just push. So don't be so hard on yourself." Crona said. Magane looked at the ground, then smiled.

"Yeah, I guess your all right." she said.

"So your gonna join us?" Alex said with a hopeful smile. Magane looked at them and nodded. Alex cheered. 

"Yeah! A new friend!" Alex said. Magane smiled a little bigger.

"Friend..." she said. She looked over at Gabby.

"Do you think Gabby will be okay?" Magane asked, eyeing especially at her bandaged shoulder.

"Knowing her, I think so. She doesn't hold grudges easily." Ulric said. Magane looked over at her, and placed a hand on her new friend.

"I hope so" she said.

Soon our heroes arrived to Central safetly. Alex and Magane put Gabby in her bed to rest while Takano gave her an inspection. Then the whole group went to report to Roy about the mission. When Ulric explained Magane, Roy looked at Magane with a blank expression.

"So, you've known this group for a few days huh." he said.

"That's right sir." Magane replied.

"From what I've been told, you've caused...quite a bit of trouble." Roy said. Riza looked at her unsure.

"Sir, I deeply apologize for all the trouble I've caused. But if you can, I'd appreciate if you let me join Central military, as well as be a part of this group. Please, I want to be useful for once." Magane said. Roy thought it over. They all waited impatiently, with Magane being especially nervous. Then Roy gave Magane a confident smile.

"Welcome to the team." he stated. They all cheered. Alex hugged Magane tightly. Magane giggled, a big smile on her face. Then Takano came in.

"I'm sorry to intrude." she said. Magane ran up to her.

"Please tell me, how's Gabby? Will she be okay?" she asked.

"Actually, she's awake now and wishes to see you. However her wound is very sensitive and she has a fever so be careful." Takano said.

"Thank you." Magane said. With that she quickly left the office and went to visit Gabby.

Gabby's POV

I waited patiently on the balcony for Magane, feeling the cool breeze hit my face. I heard my door open and turned around. Magane was at my side in seconds.

"What are you doing?! You should be resting in bed!" she said.

"I will, after I spend a bit of time with you." I replied. Magane looked at me unsure and nodded. Then she looked at the ground, her eyes filled with guilt.

"Listen, I'm very sorry about what I did. You wouldn't be hurt of sick if I hadn't betrayed you." Magane said.

"Don't be ridiculous, it wasn't your fault, they forced you to do what you did right? So don't worry about it." I said.

"So, you forgive me?" Magane asked.

"Of course I do." I replied with a smile. Magane gave a tiny smile, then looked down at the charm that was on her necklace.

"Magane?" I said.

She didn't answer......

Author's POV

*Flashback*

Magane slowly woke up, having a huge headache. She looked around, her eye sight blurry.

"Ugh, what happened?" she muttered. She looked around and saw there were many bloody corpses everywhere. Her eyes widened with horror. The floor and walls were splattered with blood, limbs and other parts were everywhere, and shattered glass covered the floor. Magane looked at her hands, which were covered in blood. She recognized this place, it was the museum.

"No....did I do this?" she said weakly. She saw red and blue lights outside.

"Magane Chikujoin, come out quietly with your hands up!" shouted a cop outside. Magane panicked, and ran out of the building through the back door. She could hear the cops coming after her. She took many turns and twists until she finally lost them. Magane frantically tried to remember what happened. Everything was a blur up until....

"You'll see soon enough." her words rang through her head. Magane's eyes widened.

"She betrayed me." she said weakly. She felt a piece of paper in her pocket and took it out, unfolding it. It was a message from Ruruka.

"Hey bestie! Guess what? You were a big help today! Yep, thanks to you, and that candy I gave you, you killed everyone in the building! And that was a big enough distraction for me to steal the diamond and leave. Now I can finally ditch ya! Bye bye!" it said.

Magane dropped the note.

"I'll never trust anyone ever again." was all she said........

*Flashback over*

Gabby's POV

Magane looked back up at me.

"Do you know what this is?" she asked. I shook my head.

"It looks like gold." I said. Magane shook her head and looked down at it.

"Its called pyrite, also known as fool's gold." she said. She frowned.

"Three years ago, Ruruka and I were best friends, partners in crime. Or so I thought. One night she betrayed me and made me do something......really terrible. And ever since then, I've always been too scared to make any friends. I thought our friendship was real gold, but it was fool's gold instead." Magane explained. She gripped the pyrite tight in her hand and looked down at the floor, her hair covering her face.

"Our friendship is real gold.....right?" she said weakly. Tears streamed down her cheeks. I quickly went over to her and hugged her, even though it kinda hurt my shoulder.

"Magane, our friendship is real, and it'll remain that way. Always. Not just with me, but the rest of the group as well." I stated. Magane hugged me back and buried her face in my shoulder. We didn't let go for a bit and just hugged there in silence. Then we pulled away, tears still streaming down her cheeks. I smiled and sat her on the bed. Then I transformed into my wolf form.

She looked at me surprised. I hopped on the bed right next to her and nuzzled her face, then licked her face gently. She giggled and stroked the top of her hand. I pulled away and shook my head, then ripped off one of her gloves and cast it aside. I then laid my head on her lap and she smiled, gently stroking my head.

"Your fur is so soft." she said. I smiled.

"Thank you Gabby, I mean it." Magane said. I gave a happy bark, wagging my tail. She giggled. We sat there for a few minutes, enjoying each others company. Then my head didn't feel so good and I whimpered a little. Magane noticed and moved my body closer to my pillow.

"You should really rest. When your feeling a bit better, come and see us." she said. I nodded. With that Magane left. Meanwhile I went to sleep, deciding to be in my wolf form for a while.
