Gabby's POV

We all were silent and exhausted as we walked through the forest for a few hours, everyone except Magane, who was skipping happily along with us. Along the way we tried to come up with excuses of how tell Roy we left Excalibar behind and let the enemy have it. Okay that sounds worse saying it out loud.

"Lets see, we could say we we're battling that...thing, and during the battle we....dropped it into the swamp, lost forever?" Alex said.

"Ha, yeah that'll work." Ryuga said sarcastically.

"We could say the enemy stole it from us and that they got away with it." Izaya said.

"Wouldn't he just get mad at that?" I asked.

"Gabby, I'm sure he'll get more pissed off saying we only left it behind because it was annoying, and then gave it to the enemy." Ryuga said. I pouted.

"Smart ass." I mumbled. I noticed Ulric was walking to well,holding his side. He did get beat quite a bit. We all did. I'm mean, Crona was still bleeding black blood. Not enough to worry about, but still.

"Its useless. Any excuse we come up with will still sound fake." Ulric said.

"So then do we tell the truth?" Crona asked.

"Yeah I don't think so. I've seen Roy mad only one time. He scorched the crap out of that guy, even after he was nothing but ashes." Ryuga said. I gulped.

"Is this Roy guy really that bad? And seriously, how hard is it to come up with a lie for this whole mess?" Magane asked.

"Lying is not the hard part, its coming up with a good lie that's hard, and keeping a straight face afterwards. At least for me it is." I said.

"Dude, just say something like......oh! I got it! You had the sword in your hands and were ready to leave. But suddenly Envy and Monokuma attack, and try to take it away. You do everything in your power to keep it safe, but that thing comes up and tries to kill you all, including the enemy. As you fight off the enemy, Envy and Monokuma take the chance and steal the sword, leaving you all for dead. After you barely get away, you explain your hard trek back to Central. Simple." Magane explained.

Everyone looked at her shocked.

"How did you come up with all that so quickly?" Alex asked.

"What can I say? Magane is my name, and lying is my game." she replied.

"No kidding." Ulric said.

"A kishin." Crona said. All eyes were on him.

"What?" Ryuga said.

"A kishin, that's what that thing was. I sensed its soul. They are very dangerous creatures who feed on human souls, as well as other species." Crona explained.

"I see. We should Roy about these creatures, so that more people can be aware about them." Izaya said. After a bit more trekking, we were finally out of the horrid forest and smiling at the bright moon above.

"Finally! Freedom!" I said. I laughed, finally letting most of my insanity out. Everyone kinda joined me, laughing out. Everyone except for Izaya and Ryuga, who just grinned. Magane giggled and smiled at us.

"Well, I gotta bounce. Its been a great couple days guys! We should do this again!" she said.

"HELL NO!" We all shouted. Magane giggled.

"You guys do all sorts of fun stuff like this huh? I wish I could do stuff like this more often. This city can get pretty dull, and its hard for me to travel. But I'll enjoy what I get." she stated. I looked over at her.

"You know, Magane, your powers are pretty powerful. As long as you can get someone to reject your lies, you can make them come true." I said. Magane looked at me surprised, then smiled.

"Ahhh, you figured them out have you? Not many people can catch up with it so quickly." she said. Sure, lets say I did figure it out instead of learning it off your anime.

"Anyway, you don't seem necessarily evil. And if you do like to do adventures like this, then maybe.... maybe you can join the Central with us." I said. Everyone looked at me surprised.

At that statement, Magane's eyes widened with complete shock.

"Are you nuts?! Do you not remember what she did to us back there?!" Ulric said.

"Of course I remember her pranks. I also remember her warning us about Envy and Monokuma, helping us find Excalibar, and coming up with a good lie for Roy. Plus, her powers are too strong to just turn down." I said.

"No way in hell!" Ryuga stated.

"I think its a great idea!" Alex chimed.

"She actually can be helpful sometimes. Plus, she knows the city more than we do. She help us with missions around the city." Crona said.

"It would be an interesting choice." Izaya said.

"That's four against two. We win!" Alex said. Ulric shrugged while Ryuga grunted in annoyance. I looked at Magane.

"Besides, she's actually really fun." I said. Magane's eyes got wider.

"What do you say? If anything, you can be our friend." I said with a happy smile. Alex beamed. Magane just stared for a moment, then she looked down at the ground, her hair covering her eyes. I looked at her confused.

"Magane?" I asked. She said nothing for a moment. Then she spoke.

"I'll never be your friend." she said very quietly. In a flash she bolted away into the city.

"Magane wait!" I cried. But she was gone. I actually felt a bit upset. What was that about?

"Weird, I figured she would've said yes in a heartbeat." Ulric said. I frowned. Those last words she said.

"I'll never be your friend.", it bothered me a lot.

"Gabby?" Crona said. I frowned, very disappointed and worried. Ulric placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey uh, we're all kinda busted up, so lets head back to Central. Its late enough as it is. Magane will be fine for now." Ulric said. I looked at him.

"Uh yeah, yeah lets go." I said. With that we all started to head home, but I didn't smile once.

Author's POV

Envy and Monokuma smiled when they saw the sword in the stone.

"That's Exacalibar? It looks pretty neat." Monokuma said. Envy ran up to it and pulled it out.

"Why the hell would they give it up?" he said. Suddenly the sword started to glow, startling Envy and dropping the sword.

"Ow! What do you think your doing you fool?!" said the sword.

"What the? A talking sword?" Envy said. The sword transformed into a...a.....

"What the hell are you?" Envy said. Excalibar whacked him with his cane.

"Fool! Respect your elders!" he said.

"Listen bud, you need to come wi-" Excalibar whacked Monokuma with his cane.

"Fool! Don't interrupt me when I speak!" he said.

"Ow! What the hell?! I'm already beat pretty bad-" he was interrupted again with another whack on the head.

"What did I just say?!" Excalibar snapped. The two enemies were silent.

"Now, who wants to hear my story about the twelveth century?" Excalibar said.

"No one." Envy stated. That earned him another whack on the head.

"Fool! I said respect your elders!" Excalibar said.

"Ow!" Envy yelped.

"Fine, we'll hear your story." Monokuma said.

"Actually, how about we do the 5 hour story time first?" Excalibar asked. Without even letting him transform back into a sword first, Envy picked him up and shoved his head down into the stone.

"Hell no! Can we leave?!" Envy pleaded.

"I thought you wouldn't ask." Monokuma said. With that, the two left, thinking of excuses for Father and Altair.

Meanwhile, Magane was at a café, eating a strawberry to herself. She figured killing the clerk and stealing some cake would make herself feel better, but strangely she couldn't bring herself to kill the clerk like usual. So instead she tied him up and ate her cake. She was quite upset about what Gabby said.

"If anything, you could be our friend." her words still rang in her head. Magane growled to herself and stabbed at her cake over and over. Not gonna happen.

"Friends don't exsist. That's a lie itself." she muttered to herself, stuffing another bite into her mouth. She didn't want friends, not after what she did to her.......

"Magane, I'm your best friend! I would never betray you"

Magane gritted her teeth.

"Usoda." she said. She noticed her clenched fists and took a deep breath, replacing her frown with a smile instead.

"What am I doing?! I'm Magane! I can't have negative feelings over the past." she said. She looked down at the pyrite on her necklace.

"That's right, its all in the past......." she muttered to herself.
