Lucy P.O.V

Waiting.

Waiting.

Waiting. 

Why was I not feeling any intense pain? Was I already dead? I was scared to open my eyes, so I just peeked open my right eye. The first thing I see is the daggar on the ground. I opened my other eye and looked at it with wide eyes. I look up to see Natsu kneeling on the ground, a tear falling down from his eye. A little frightened, I stuttered, "N-Natsu?"

"Why?" He asked.

"Huh?" I said, confused.

"Why can't I kill you?" He said silently. My heart began to beat fast as he said those words. I slowly reached out for his hand and touched it gently. "You're beginning to remember." I said silently.

"What the hell is going on!" I could hear Lisanna yell.

But we both just ignored her. "What are you talking about?" He asked.

I smiled softly and said, "You're beginning to remember US."

It was silent for a minute, but then he said straight forward, "Kiss me."

I don't know why, but my face turned bright pink. "W-W-What!"

"That was your deal, remember? Why would you want to kiss me if you knew I'd kill you?" He asked.

I sat there silently. Would it be crazy if I told him everything about the God of Anger? Plus, then I'd have to bring up the sacrifice, which I didn't even know if he still remembered. All I did was sigh and said, "Because I miss you."

His face turned a bright pink. I laughed a little. "NATSU DRAGNEEL!" The Devil suddenly screamed. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!"

Frightened, I stepped back a little, but I felt Natsu's arm around my back. "Doing something I should've done a long time ago."

"What are you talking about?" I asked. Suddenly, Natsu grabbed my face and pressed his lips against mine. My eyes were wide, but they slowly closed. I wrapped my hands around Natu's neck, and we kissed like nothing else mattered in the world. We both pulled away, and I noticed something in Natsu's eyes. His red eyes shattered, and you could see his beautiful golden brown eyes. Oh God, have I missed those eyes. "Natsu?" I asked, not sure if the spell was completley broken. I could feel his hug tighten around me, almost tight enough to suffocate me. "Oh God." He whispered. "Oh God!" I looked at his face, and I could see tears falling from his face. Tears fell from mine as well. "You're back!" I rejoiced.

"It was...dark. And cold." He muttered.

"There, there." I soothed, my voice cracking from all the tears. "You're alright not! We're back together." 

"Natsu!" Happy cheered.

"You're alright!" Wendy cheered as well.

"Took you long enough." Gajeel grumbled. 

Suddenly, the ground began to shake, and the earth was cracke. I began to wobble, but Natsu caught me before I fell. We look to see the Devil burning with rage (Literally!)! His cape fell, and what we saw was horrific. What we saw was not a human but a......creature. He had a ram's horns, the body of a lion, the tail of a snake, and the legs of a dragon. I gasped at the sight, but Natsu just held me tightly."YOU DARE DEFY ME! YOU ALL WILL PAY!" He screetched.

"Yeah, yeah yeah!" Natsu yelled. "We can finish you off before I can even break a sweat."

Egotistical Natsu. Another thing that I missed.

Wendy, Gajeel, and the Exceeds joined us, cheering for the return of Natsu. "Come on, guys." Natsu growled, his magic bursting. "Let's finish this guy off."

"Aye sir!" Happy cheered.

"AYE SIR!" We all repeated. Wendy and the others began to run off to the Devil, and just when I was about to run as well, Natsu held my hand. I looked at him, but his face was expressionless. "Natsu?" I asked.

But he just pressed his lips against mine, but this one was more passionate than the other. As our tounges danced in our mouths, I was about to give in to my weak knees if it wasn't for Natsu holding me tightly. When we pulled apart, I was panting, since we didn't even breathe. "What was that for?" I asked.

"Hopefully, my forgiveness to you. If you'll accept it?" He asked.

I smiled. "Of course!"

He grinned, and then yelled, "Let's go kick some Devil ass." 

And with that, we ran towards the Devil.

Natsu P.O.V.

Boy, was it good to be back. I felt like a completley new man! Stronger, faster, I felt like a completley different person!

And the best part was that Lucy was by my side. 

"Fire Dragon's Roar!" I chanted. Fire came out of my mouth as it hit the Devil in the chest. He growled in pain. "Lisanna! Do something!" He yelled.

She nodded and came flying down. I expected her to come after me after the way I treated her, but she changed her coarse towards Lucy. "Lucy! Watch out!"

"It's alright! Just continue on the front line!" She assured me as she and Lisanna tumbled on the ground. Although I was worried, I listened to her and just continued running. The Devil noticed me and yelled, "Hell Fire!" Fire surrounded me as I tried to dodge it. Did this guy not know me? I'm a Fire Dragon Slayer! I tried to walk through it, but I was suddenly burned severley. I've never been burned before. Ever! "What the hell is this!" I screamed.

"Hell Fire is completley different from Dragon Fire. More......Devilish" He snickered.

Annoyed I simply jumped over the fire, getting burned on the tip of the foot. Ignoring the pain, I ran up to him, concentrating all my magic, chanting, "Crimson Lotus : Exploding Flame Blade!" I surged all my strength at him, who screamed in agony. He swiped me away, and I fell to the ground, hurting my arm. I attacked him again, using even more of my strength. Although he was injured, the Devil was still not defeated.

Damn, I thought in my head. How the hell am I suppose to defeat him!

It's time, a whisper suddenly popped in my head. I jerked my head, looking left and right to see who, or what, was speaking to me. "Who's there!" I yelled.

Calm child. It is me, the mother of Atsuko, she whispered in my head. '

Lucy's mother! What was she doing in my head? But I just ignored it for now and asked, "What's time?"

The sacrifice, she whispered. I felt the world falling to the ground when she said those words. I had completley forgotten about the sacrifice.

How could I have forgotten that I was gonna die?

"How long?" I asked, my voice shaking.

You have ten minutes, she whispered. So little time, yet so much to do. I decided to retreat back to Lucy to see how she was doing. I see her breathing heavily on the ground, and Lisanna layed motionless on the ground. Tears were flowing down Lucy's face. "She did it to herself." She whispered. "She couldn't take it anymore."

I kneeled down to her side and hugged her gently. The sight of Lisanna's broken body almost made me sick. Even though she's angered me so much, it was painful to see her dead. But now wasn't the time to mourn. I grabbed Lucy's face to where it was facing mine. "Lucy," I said silently, "it's time for me to go."

"Go? Go whe-?" Lucy asked, but then her brain began to process what I was saying. Tears fell down her face even more. "NO! No! NOT NOW! PLEASE!" She begged.

Tears fell down my face. My heart ached to see Lucy in this much pain. "It's the only way. You even told me so."

"But I don't want you to die." She said softly. I tightly held her as she buried her face into my black vest. 

Five minutes, Lucy's mother whispered in my head. I sniffed and looked at Lucy. I kissed her roughly, as if it was our last (which it was). I pulled away and stood up, walking towards the Devil. "Oh God." I whispered, my eyes burning with tears and my heart aching. I wiped away my tears and stood up tall in front of the Devil, who was still reaking havoc. "Alright, what am I suppose to do?" I asked her.

A spell is the only way. A spell of binding. If you combine the Devil and yourself together, your magic will cancel him out, destroying the Devil, she explained.

"And me as well," I added grimly.

Sadly, yes.

I sighed. "Alright. Let's start this spell."

Repeat after me : 'From once apart, from once sepreate. Combine us both and let us connect', she told me.

I nodded and closed my eyes. "From once apart, from once sepreate. Combine us both and let us connect!" 

"NO! YOU'LL DESTROY US BOTH!" The Devil screetched.

As a tears fell down my face, I whispered, "Good bye, Lucy"

A shining bright light appeared, blinding me. 

I've been alive for 18 years, and not once have I ever thought about what death was like. I always thought about how I would become stronger with my magic; how I wanted to defeat the baddest of the bad.

But that was before I met her.

She changed my life.

She taught me what love was truly like.

She taught me about friendship, grief, joy, and true anger.

But how do I repay her : by dying.
