An Arc and a Cruz.
Jaune Arc is a young man, full of ideas and hope. Filled with an infinite amount of potential.
Well, that potential has been snuffed by an event that will forever change remnant for the better or the worst.
"May I seat here?" Someone asked. He had a deep voice yet soft enough that it reminded the young man of a general talking in a meeting. The voice reminded Jaune Arc of professor Ozpin, beacon Academy's headmaster.
"S-sure," The young Arc said. Looking at the one who asked him, he saw that it was a young man with tanned skin and Asian features similar to Lie Rin.
"Wow, what's got you down in the dumps?" Hearing the question, Jaune looked at the man's face. Now that he looked closer, the young man had black hair with streaks of white, a youthful face with a scar over his eye and on his chin. He had dark eyes and dull pupils, a human. Although, Jaune could swear that he saw the eyes turn reptilian for a second.
"It's nothing," Jaune said, feeling distressed at the events that happened to him.
"Well, if you say so. But, you need a drink," The man said. Jaune watched him reach into his jacket and take out a pair of flasks. smiling, the male handed one of them to him.
"It's fine, I don't want to impose," Jaune said, trying to refuse before it was pushed on his hand.
"Nope, You'll be drinking that to ease whatever it is you're feeling," The man said with a smile before popping his flask open. The sweet smell of what seemed to be fruits invaded his nose, it was both pleasant and strong,
"Thank you," Jaune said, opening the flask he was given to and stopped. Its smell was something that reminded him of his happiest memories. He decided to take a sip, which turned to a gulp. Once the drink flowed through his throat, his whole body felt like it was being burnt.
"oh, sorry, that's the wrong one," The man said. Coughing out, Jaune slowly felt the heat escape while coughing out. "I didn't mean to give you a fire wine,"
"It's fine," Jaune coughed out. Wiping a tear, he looked at the flask on his hand and saw that it was not the same one he just drank from. "What was that?" He asked pitifully before calming down.
"Well, kid, that was Ignia's fire wine. You might not be a dragon, but damn, I'm impressed. Most people would have been drunk by now," The man said before smiling. "Haven't introduced myself yet, the name's Ignia," The man now named Ignia said, offering his hand out.
Taking his hand, Jaune shook it before wincing slightly at the man's grip, it passed through his aura like nothing.
"Name's Jaune Arc, short, sweet, ladies love it," Jaune said with a smile, trying to make a good first impression before sighing. "Sorry, I did not mean to do that,"
"It's fine, I used to say different things to make people's impression of me to be better," Ignia said with a smile. "sadly, it did not work much,"
"I guess, I'm not the only one then," Jaune said with a high before slumping on the bench. "I actually might be expelled," Jaune said, taking a drink from the flask after wiping it first.
"Oh, that's rough," Ignia replied, looking at the shattered moon. "That'll make it harder for you to get a job. How the hell did that happen?" Noticing the flinch from the blonde, Ignia just said nothing and waited.
"It's just, I cheated and everyone found out," Jaune said looking at the ground.
"You cheated on a girl? I Don't see how that will lead to you being expelled," Ignia said, causing the blonde to look at him in horror.
"WHAT?! NO!" Jaune replied before pausing at the smirk from Ignia.
"Relax, I'm just teasing you," Ignia's reply made him sigh. "So, you cheated, and that put you in harm's way? I guess with your friends?" Ignia asked Jaune.
"Yeah, it even strained my relationships with my team and friends," Jaune said, taking a drink from the flask he had. It was some sort of tea.
"Well, being in danger is in the job,"
"But it could have killed them," Jaune said, drinking more of the tea.
"Kid, dying is normal. In the profession you're trying to get into, every moment or day might be your last," Ignia said with a sigh. "Trust me, I know. What got you into so much trouble then?"
Pausing, the young Arc looked at Ignia, wondering if he should tell him. This man here just sat in and is currently a stranger. Yet, he sat by him and listened, even offering him a drink. Knowing that this would be a bad thing, he had nothing to lose so he went for it.
"I cheated and faked my transcripts," Jaune said, waiting for the words that will hurt him. Hanging his head low, the young knight looked stunned as he was met with a chuckle.
"So, you and your friends' relationships got strained by a piece of paper?" Ignia said with a smirk and a chuckle. "Reminds me of the time where my stream and I got in a fight," Ignia said with a smile before stretching a bit. "Are you sure you guys are even friends?"
"Of course they are!" Jaune snapped, quick to defend his friends and teammates. "true, they might not like what I did,"
"Did they defend you? Did they try to talk to you about it?" Ignia asked quietly. Snapping to reality, Jaune desperately tried to remember what happened during the last week.
"No," the young Arc whispered, the beatings he received during combat class, the bullying, and the name-calling.
"Please, dear Oum!" Jaune said, falling to his knees as the memories of the last week he had tried to repress came crashing towards him. His friends from Team RWBY and his team did not even help him. they just watched with the same looks the others gave him.
"I see," drinking the Fire wine on his flask, Ignia stood in front of Jaune, kneeling and rubbing his back. It was sad really, a young man filled with potential being pushed away by those close to him.
The young Arc could only sob as tears fell, his mind desperately looking for something that will help prove that his friends did help him, but there was nothing. In fact, he could only see the looks of disgust, anger, pity, and hurt of his friends.
Ignia just rubbed the young arc's back gently while drinking from his flask. He was not the best when it came to comforting others, hell, it was easier for him to cause others pain. Hell, his cute partner would even agree that that was the only thing he was good for. Ah, he had already missed his cute partner.
"Oh, my," Ignia said, seeing the glow that surrounded his aura. It was very interesting.
"You know, Kiddo," Ignia said with a smile. "I happen to be a... let's say... well-connected individual," He said, making Jaune look on his face.
"H-huh?"
"Well, this sucks. I guess I should have taken in Snowy's offer in helping me take up communication lessons," Ignia said with a sigh before looking away. "Look, I'm not really good at social cues and stuff. But do you want to prove them wrong?" Ignia asked. "You're a great kid, and you got guts and heart in the right place. Hell, my team would even scramble to comfort you... Don't ask, they never really pampered me,"
chuckling a bit at the similarities he had with the man. Jaune felt like he should listen to him.
"Hell, they would even scramble and try to make you their apprentice due to your potential, transcripts, and past be damned," Ignia then smiled at him. "You see, my team and I decided to do something fun, we will split up and try to find our apprentices,"
Hearing this, Jaune listened intently.
"You're a kind young man, and filled with great potential. It also helps that you're good looking, no homo and you're not as handsome as I am," Ignia said playfully trying to ease the mood. it was successful as Jaune chuckled a bit. "What about it? If Beacon is gonna give up on you, you can go with me and I'll take you on as my first apprentice,"
What? this man? someone he just met was offering him to be his apprentice? okay, mom did tell him to not trust strangers easily, but, he wanted to prove them wrong. He wanted to prove them wrong and make them see he belonged to Beacon.
"We will be training alongside my teammates and their apprentices so you won't be alone. Since you are a first-year, then you guys will be in the same age group," He said with a smile before clicking his hair back, his dark coat's tails danced with the gust of the wind, revealing a white button-up shirt with a black vest and pants. He had a blue crescent moon pendant. He smiled and gently offered his hand to Jaune. "Will you let me help you?"
Jaune knew, that this was not gonna be a good thing but, he wanted to fulfill his dream. it hurt that his teams, friends, and crush, did not help him and just ignored him, but, he will prove them wrong. Taking Ignia's hand, the young Arc had chosen to walk the fine line between life and death.
"I, Jaune Luna Arc, accept your proposal to become your apprentice," Jaune said, determination filling his voice. Warm dark eyes shifted to form dark Dragonic pupils.
"I, Asul Buwan, take you, Jaune Arc, as my apprentice," Ignia or Asul said with a smile as he looked at Jaune. Their auras bonded together and created a bond of master and apprentice.
"So, when do we start training?" Jaune asked shyly making Ignia smile and rub his head.
"Not yet, you need proper rest and to eat first," Ignia said with a smile before stretching. "Tell me Jaune. What is your favorite legend or fairy tale?" Ignia asked calmly with a smile.
"I usually just listen to the story my grandfather told me... But I am quite fond of the warrior in the woods," humming, Ignia motioned for Jaune to follow him. following his new mentor, Jaune's eyes widened as he looked at where they stopped. It was his team's dorm. No, he was not ready yet!
"Just take what you need, we will be getting the rest of your stuff next time," Ignia told him and gently patted his head. Calming down, Jaune opened the door to see that no one from his team was with him. Silently, he gathered his clothes, putting them on a bag along with more essentials and his scroll. He only had a few of them, but it was enough.
"You good?" Ignia asked, looking at Jaune through the open door.
"Yeah," His reply was short. Walking back towards Ignia, Jaune smiled at his mentor while a tear fell down.
"I swear to you Jaune, as a proud member of Team BSAN, I will help you reach your dreams," Ignia said, eyes showing confidence, making the young man nod and smile at the encouragement he received. "come on, You'll be bunking with me," Ignia said with a sile as the duo walked towards an elevator.
in the corner, a pair of eyes widened at the sight of the two males walking towards the elevator. No, It can't be like this! She just got the courage to apologize to him. Fear took over her as she hid in the shadows, her heart pounding against her chest.
"I'm sorry, Jaune," Her heart dropped slightly before a tear dropped.

"Wait, isn't this the special dorms? The dorms only available to the top teams and professors?" Jaune asked Ignia as they walked into the new halls of his new dorm.
"Actually, this was the student dorms a few years ago but since Beacon expanded it was changed. Good thing they still kept the rooms. My team and I were the reasons why Beacon needed to make new dorms," Ignia said, rubbing the back of his head.
"They are bigger than the new ones," Jaune noted, the rooms were two times bigger than this former dorm.
"Well, back when I was studying here, Students were very few. Hell, we only had five teams that were accepted and only two teams graduated with their original members, my team and I were one of them," Ignia said proudly before opening the door with a rose, a blue moon, a black flower, and a yellow snowflake, arranged in a pattern. "Welcome to your new dorm!" Ignia said with a smile before throwing his coat off to the rack on his side and flopped on a bed,
Looking around in amazement, the young Arc merely looked around before shyly getting in. Setting down his bags on the couch, he sat down on it.
"Just pick a bed. Once the team is all together, you will meet your fellow apprentices," Ignia said, pulling out a copy of ninjas of love volume 7: Teaming shades of grey from under the bed. "You need to get rest, I have to introduce myself to your class tomorrow,"
"What do you mean by that Sir?" Jaune asked curiously at his new mentor who smiled.
"Just call me Ignia, Asul, or as my teammates call me, Lune," Ignia said. the next answer he gave made the young man faint and crash on the bed. "Well, it would make a bad impression if the newest member of Beacon's staff does not fulfill his duty in time. After all, I will be your School's Tactics and Strategy professor,"
Chuckling at the way the blonde collapsed and fainted onto his bed, He gently let the young man rest on the bed. Heading towards the window, he looked at the broken moon and took out his scroll. Opening, it showed the photo of four people dressed in Beacon Uniform with a single man surrounded by three girls. The first one had black hair with a cap with a red visor on top of her head and a happy grin as she hanged on the male's back, the next one showed a blonde with short hair in a ponytail tied with a ribbon standing on his left, pulling him with a smile on her face, and lastly, there was a beautiful girl with snow-white hair tied to a ponytail, smiling proudly and happily as she held the man's other hand. The black-haired girl had rifle on her back, the blonde has a katana on her waist while the albino, who was most certainly a schnee has a rapier on her waist. Lastly, the only male on the group held a halberd on hand, stumbling forward. He had black hair and dark eyes. There was a note on it as well.
'To the greatest team of our generation, Team SBNA,' Chuckling, he could se his teammates posing in a photo after they graduated all those years ago.
'Stay safe there partner, don't forget to take care of yourself, My apprentice and I are doing quite well and we might visit,' -JS
'Hey, don't forget to stop by and hang out with the family, we all miss you. If you're not busy, we can meet up or something. Good luck on your new job, prof. P.S: My apprentice says hi' -RA
'I'll smack you if you try to flirt with your students. All jokes aside, Stay safe there and do your best and don't cause too much chaos there. I finally found a brat of my own,' -BN
Chuckling at the messages his team sent him, Asul just chuckled and pocketed his phone. Focusing on his hand, he looked at the rings he wore. Each one of them has different symbols, one has a black flower, another with a yellow rose, and a white glyph.
"I should sleep," Ignia said with a smile before closing his book and lying on his bed, closing his eyes and welcoming the darkness that contained the joys of days long gone.
