Chapter 10

After the event and escorting the two home, the group headed back to the guild hall.

"Dimira. What were you talking about earlier during the battle?" Erza asked, looking at Dimi as they were on the train— Natsu passed out on the requip mages lap.

"What are you talking about, Erza?" Happy asked.

"Earlier when we were fighting those guys, Dimira mentioned some sort of creature. I want to know exactly why." Erza explained simply. "So, explain."

"You al saw those black marks on those guys, right?" Dimi asked, staring at her hands that rested in her lap. "Those are marks of a creature called the Eternal Blessing. To be honest, that's the reason I'm here."

"So what? Are you chasing this creature down because you want a blessing?" Lucy asked, leaning forwards slightly.

"Oh, no way! The name of the creature is very misleading. In actuality it's more like a curse." Raising her hand, Dimi summoned the book that held information on almost all dimensional beasts, flipping to the page where the creature's information was. Flipping it around, she showed the group the picture. "It gets it's name because it seems like it gives people blessings, but in actuality it gives them more strength, magic in this case, and then feeds off it. Before we know it, the world will be destroyed due to it absorbing an excess of magic."

"Oh wow." Lucy muttered.

"So, you're here because of this creature then." Erza said, placing her hand to her chin in thought. "Then we'll help you find this creature— it shouldn't be too hard."

"I think you're underestimating things a bit. This creature is extremely dangerous. It was kept in my— uh the royal families pet sanctuary where I come from. That place has an extremely diligent security system, no create has escaped for at least ten thousand years." Closing the book she had summoned, Dimi sent it back, watching as it vanished in a white light. "So it'll be harder to find than you could imagine."

-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-

Once the group was back at the guild, Dimi followed Erza to a back room that was said to be the Master's.

"Master. I have some information that might be important to the guild— the world even." Erza said.

"Oh? What is it?" He asked.

Erza nudged Dimi forwards and the girl cleared her throat and explained the situation to the Master, watching as he was nodding along as she spoke. Once she was done, she waited for his response.

"You're right, this is bad. Is there anything we can do to prevent this from happening, Dimira?"

"The only way is find the creature before it gathers enough magic, so I can put it back into the sanctuary. If you could, tell everyone in the guild that if they spot anyone that has black lines crawling up their neck, try to capture them, and then notify me."

"Of course." The master said. "I wish you luck in your search, and if there's anything else I can do, please tell me."

Bowing slightly, Dimi gave him a small smile. "Thank you. I will keep that in mind."

With that, the two of them left the office, and parted ways, Erza going to yell at a few guild members that were fooling around and Dimi going towards the guild's library, thinking that there might be some useful knowledge there.

She had been in the library for hours before she was starting to loose hope. Pulling on a book, Dimi leaned back slightly and felt the ladder she was on loose center of balance. Feeling herself fall back, she tried to grab onto the nearest thing that might steady herself- which so happened to be more books. Some struggling later, Dimi found herself on the ground, rubbing her head sitting in a pile of books.

"I should probably clean this up." She muttered, already feeling the pain subside. Standing up, she started to pick up books, placing them in neat piles on the floor. Though as she was organizing, something caught her eye.

Picking up a familiar book, Dimi flipped it open, only to let out a gasp as she read what was written on the cover. "Property of: Iris Lamore'. This book had belonged to her mother.
