I watch as his eyes slowly flutter open and vision focus. His eyes are a vibrant blue color. Despite the lifelessness I see in the rest of him, his eyes seem the most alive; full of passion and determination as well as confidence--a lot of confidence. However, this boy reminded me of him and I don't know why.

Now he's just staring up at me. Blank face and, now, fading blue eyes. His gaze is fixed on me.

"Hello," I simply say. "Can you hear me, boy?"
"Who are you?" he softly asks.
"That's not important right now."

The boy surveys the room and its vacancy.

"Where am I?" he mutters.
"In my home; in a safe place away from the Empire," I reply. "My boy, how are you feeling?"
"It burns and aches everywhere..."

I quietly breathe out and examine the boy.

"Where did you come from?" I ask. "I found you in an Imperial escape pod. Will you tell me what happened to you? Why you're so injured?"
"Not if you don't tell me who you are," the cunning boy replies, "and where I really am."
"I am just a harmless old geezer; my name is Ben--Ben Kenobi. And you, my boy, are on Lothal. Now tell me, where are you from? Who are you? Why are you so injured?"
"My name is..."--he hesitates--"my name is Ezra Bridger. I was separated from my crew and captured from the Empire. They brought me from the Mining Institute to Coruscant and interrogated me. One of my guards was a cadet, Zare Leonis. He set up an escape pod and helped me get out--but at a cost. He sacrificed himself to help me get out. I'm not sure if he's still alive. All I heard was an explosive from behind me after I escaped."

I am so surprised that the boy was able to escape on his own. I am shocked.

"Where is your crew?" I impulsively ask. "Do you think you can get back to them?"
"I don't know, Ben... It's been two months since I've seen them last. I don't think I'll be able to see them again..."
"Who are they? Give me their full names--I might know them."
"Sabine Wren, Garazeb Orrelios, Chopper, Hera Syndulla, and..."
"And who?"
"Kanan Jarrus."

I think of these names through my memories. I do remember one of their names, but not exactly.

"Caleb Dume..." I murmur.
"What?" the boy asks.
"You mean Caleb Dume, right?"
"No...I mean Kanan Jarrus."

I smirk and reminisce my few memories with the young padawan. I only have three memories with him: my lecture he attended, a conversation between him and I following the lecture, and the time I watched a Form III lesson between him and his master.

"I know Kanan Jarrus," I say.

"You do?" the boy suddenly outbursts in surprise.
"Of course, if you know him, then you...must be a Jedi!"

The boy tenses up and stares at me as I grin.

"I am Obi-Wan Kenobi, Jedi Master of the Galactic Republic. You don't have anything to fear, Ezra!" I say.
"You're a Jedi Master?" he gasps.
"Yes."

"Where could he be?" Sabine asked. "He was here!"
"He must've broken out somehow," Kanan thought. "But how is that possible? He was so weak when we last saw him!"

Suddenly, a moan came from a figure on the ground. Kanan, Zeb, and Sabine each turned to it.

"What is that?" Zeb said out loud.
"No...that's a person," Sabine corrected him.
"But who is that?" Kanan asked.
"Well, obviously, it's an Imperial."

The figure began to sit up and look around. It stumbled as it got to its feet and then froze. It was petrified at the sight. It never thought it would see them again--let alone his friend. Zeb was impulsive and quickly held a bo-rifle up to the figure.

"Who are you and what did you do to Ezra?" Kanan asked.
"Wait! Don't shoot! I have something to tell you!" it pleaded.

Kanan, Zeb, and Sabine each looked at each other and lowered their weapons. Then it began to speak.

"I am Zare Leonis," he took off his cadet helmet. "I was a friend of Dev--"
"You mean, Ezra," Sabine interrupted.
"Right. And we met at the Imperial Academy. I helped him escape from here; I sent him in an escape pod back to Lothal!"

However, suddenly, a loud blast was emitted from outside and the metal door began to fall. Time was up and the Empire was here for them...
