Return

I know they're looking at me; I can feel the weight of their stares just burning through me. I was once such a well-known person, so I hope the glances don't manifest someone's recognition of me. So here I am--in the outer rim. Surely, no one will recognize me here; I was only widely known on Coruscant, Hoth, and a few other Republic controlled planets. However, ever since The Empire took over, I had to leave and turn over a new leaf. Hopefully, they won't find me here and I can live a peaceful, tranquil life.

"Hey, buddy!" a Pantoran man shouts at me.

I look around and notice no one is around me. Then, I gesture toward myself to ask if he was wanting to talk to me and notice a box he's carrying tightly in his arms.

"Yeah, you!" he says again as he starts approaching me. "Here's the food you bought from me."
"Oh. Thanks!" I take the crate from him.

The Pantoran man continues to stare me down inquisitively.

"Hey, did you ever fight in the Clone Wars?" he asks.
"No."
"Strange. You look like you do. In fact, you look a lot like a Jedi."
"Oh, I get that a lot. I guess I do!"
"Oh well, have a good day!"

I watch as the Pantoran man runs away from me and back toward the main street of Capital City. Suddenly, I hear a faint noise coming from the sky. I look up and only see the star destroyers, the shadows they cast down on us, and a clear sky. However, I knew something was coming; I just couldn't see it. I check the sky for anything and everything, but I don't see anything. So, I continue to walk back to my small house on the outskirts of town.

All the sudden, I hear this loud crash and begin to quicken my pace. It sounded as if a meteor had struck the earth; a very dense meteor. As I begin to run back to my house, I see a sea of white armored men standing a few kilometers away from my home. I set my crate on my doorstep and see smoke rising from a crater. Only a few troops were headed toward the scene. I hastily make my way up to them and distract them.

"Sir, excuse us, but we have Imperial duty to attend to," a stormtrooper said to me.

I prepare myself and hold up my hand, hidden under my other arm.

"What are you doing out here?" I say.
"What are we doing out here?" he repeats as a small smirk appears on my face.
"You shouldn't be here."
"We shouldn't be here."
"You're needed back on the other side of Capital City."
"We're needed back on the other side of Capital City."

Then, the stormtroopers run back into the crowded city. As I watch to make sure they leave completely, I curiously walk over to the emasculated earth. I climb up the raised dirt hills and then descend down them into the hole. There sits a metal escape pod steaming.

I examine the pod and realize it had malfunctioned. I find my way up to the door and open it. Abruptly, a large amount of smoke rises from it and moves out of the pod. As it dissipates, I peer into the pod and see a teenage boy with lightsaber blue hair. He's in awful condition. I begin to pull the boy out of the pod and I race him over to my house.

As soon as I enter my home, a small geometrical house with small area to farm, I lay the boy on my guest bed and quickly cover him with blankets. He was absolutely freezing when I found him. Afterward, I place my middle finger and thumb over his temples and attempt to revive him.

I knew he was someone like me. He had an evident signal in the force and had an empty holster for--what I believe--a lightsaber. Is he a padawan? He couldn't be a master yet! But who would he be learning from? No one that I know of has survived the war...

But the only thing I am focused on now is saving the boy's life. I can sense that he is strong with the force and, if trained correctly, he could be a great ally. If only he didn't turn... The fact that he turned frightens me; if I train anyone else, I don't want them to turn like he did. However, maybe this child has a master and I can find them.

The boy is beginning to stir. Now, I can get some answers...
