chapter 12
Mesagi, after eating his breakfast of eggs and bacon, Neo gestured Mesagi to follow her.
Mesagi, knowing he doesn't have much of a choice, had followed her until they reached a large room. The room was nothing but white with black lines, making squares all over the walls.
Mesagi looked around the room in sheer amazement of the size. "Why did you want to make me come here?" He asked, looking at the smiling Neo.
Neo didn't reply, and instead kept on smiling. "Why did you join the White Fang, Neo?" Mesagi asked, attempting to get serious with Neo.
Neo, once again, didn't reply, but she frowned instead. "Is it because of Roman?" Mesagi asked.
Mesagi then felt Neo's blade on his neck, and he knew he that the answer was, 'yes.'
"So you like Roman, huh. . ." Mesagi said, which made Neo glare at Mesagi.
"So. . . What's the point of me being alive then? Why did you want Roman to bring me to you, being alive and all?" Mesagi asked again.
This caused Neo to flinch and back away, her blade leaving the skin of Mesagi's neck.
"Oh. . . No reply huh. Well why are we here in the first place?" Mesagi asked, raising an eyebrow.
That got Neo's attention. 'This is the sparring room,' she replied to him, which Mesagi reply with a nod.
"So. . . What do we do?" Mesagi asked. Neo seemingly giggled at his question.
'I like that side of you,' Neo told Mesagi, who then smiled and nodded to her.
'We're here to train obviously. I've gotten permission that we should train ourselves,' she replied.
Mesagi nodded. "So. . . My weapons?" Mesagi asked, and he felt a strong force behind him, causing him to fall down.
Neo then seemingly laughed, falling to the ground, rolling too, while Mesagi blushed in embarrassment, as he grabbed his katanas and stood up.
"Ready when you are," Mesagi told Neo, as he strapped his katanas beside his waist, the chain rattling.
Neo nodded and Mesagi ran forward, as he took out his left katana and kicked it towards Neo's direction.
He expected Neo to dodge, but she didn't. Instead, she shattered like a mirror.
"Illusions? Seriously Neo?" Mesagi asked, before running to get his katana.
Out of nowhere, he was kicked at his back, causing him to fall to the ground from the sheer force.
However, Mesagi took inertia to his advantage, and as soon as he hit the ground, he pushed himself to his katana, sliding across the floor on his stomach like a penguin.
He soon got hold of his katana, and instinctively rolled, and he saw that in the place he used to be had a sword in its place.
Mesagi jumped upwards, standing up instantly, and he parried an oncoming attack from Neo.
He instantly put his katanas back-handed, and took a deep breath, and out of nowhere, he felt himself flying to the ceiling.
He did not expect it at all, so when he hit the ceiling, he yelped out in pain, before falling again, yelping in pain once more.
"Damn. . . You're fast. Feels like I can't find any openings huh?" He groaned out, standing up while looking at Neo, who was spinning her umbrella around her arm while skipping around him.
Mesagi then threw his katana to Neo, only to find out it was nothing but another illusion, and being too weak, he stayed put.
He looked around and considering that his instincts became slower, he felt a sharp pain on his shoulder.
Mesagi yelled in pain, and when the blade left his shoulder, Mesagi held onto his bleeding shoulder.
"Oh fine. You asked for it," he said through gritted teeth, standing up, and used the chain to get the katana he threw to get back to his hand.
When he did, he attempted to diffuse the two katanas, he couldn't, as he kept getting cut here and there, and he couldn't keep up.
Eventually, he got to his knees, panting, as blood was gushing out of his cuts.
Neo smiled as she put the blade at her umbrella to his neck. Mesagi took a deep breath.
His eyelids felt heavy. 'This was supposed to be training, but now it seems to be more like a death match,' he thought.
But then, he glimpsed onto something which made him in realisation: a brown metallic choker.
'So she's being controlled from there. . .' He thought again, and closed his eyes.
He felt the blade left his neck. Mesagi knew that this might be the last seconds of him living.
He opened his eyes and activated his semblance. Instead of it fading, it flashed brightly for a second, before dissapearing, blinding Neo.
Mesagi saw that it was an illusion, as Neo was now at the corner of the room, slowly moving away from the wall.
"It's time," he muttered, before diffusing his katanas, and got into his position: his left foot doing a 180° behind him, with the katana as well.
For an unknown reason, pink-coloured petals appear out of nowhere.
"Zan. . ." He muttered, closing his eyes. "Tet. . ." He continued, taking a deep breath.
"Su. . ." He continued on, and that was the same time Neo had recovered from her temporary blindness.
Mesagi opened his eyes instantly, and yelled out, "KEN!!" and literally dissapearing.
In just a split second, he cut the choker into pieces without harming Neo, before splitting his katanas back.
When Mesagi looked behind him, he saw Neo fainted, which made Mesagi smile slightly.
Suddenly, he heard the door burst open, and what Mesagi saw made him smile even more.
"About time you came. . . Sis."
