Hi, I'm sorry but I'm not sure when I'll have the time to continue this or if I ever will. I've been pretty inactive in this fandom and I have to focus on a lot of other things too. But here's my vague outline of what would have happened next if you're curious:

Rapunzel and the gang eventually catch and overpower Varian and Cassandra who have teamed up for revenge against Corona. Varian began to doubt whether he should take the Opal from Cass since it might help him save his father...but in the end tried to talk reason into Cass. Cass felt betrayed at first but promised him that they won't take their revenge on Corona. Despite promising not to use it for evil, she's adamant on not giving up the moon opal. Rapunzel and the gang forcefully take the opal from her, leaving her bleeding and injured.

Rapunzel eventually finds out how horrible Varian was treated and how Cassandra is the daughter of Gothel and was fed lies, along with a bit of brainwashing magic, about how Rapunzel is supposedly selfish and killed Gothel for no reason, and that Corona has been wrongly painting Zhan Tiri and his followers in an evil light for centuries. She also comes to understand how Cassandra became jealous of her.  She figured out that it's because Varian trusts no one but Cassandra anymore that he is led to believe these lies as well. Rapunzel pities them and releases them secretly into a different kingdom, with the last words, "They say forgive but not forget, but I can never forgive you two, and I wish to forget everything. I regret everything that has led you two to become the murderous criminals who you are now instead of the people who were my closest friends. You have suffered enough and this is why I am letting you have a new life, but should you come back to Corona or continue your ill-informed quest for revenge, you will be killed."

A chapter in which Cheri sighs. She is talking with you, dear reader. About the three possible futures she had foreseen. The first was the cannon one. The second is this, a somewhat okay future for both of them. The third was a horrible future in which Cassandra had gone crazy and paranoid, she committed suicide and Varian did so upon being informed whilst in his jail cell. This was the future Cheri sought to avoid in making sure Adira and Hector interfered minimally.

Cassandra and Varian live a peaceful life in that other kingdom. At first they were thieves, taught the way of life by Red and Angry whom they met.

But after five years, they got married and Varian became a scribe. Cassandra found work as a mercenary. They eventually had a son.

A door creaks open and a cured Quirin comes home to them.

Last scene is an older Rapunzel visiting their graves and comforting their son.
