Chapter 1

Hello, pleased to meet you. My Name is Lynette Everleigh. Of course, as an assassin, that isn't my real name. It's just for cover purposes. My real name is (f/n) (l/n). Not many know me by that name, most of them are already dead anyways.

I was raised in central London by a pretty wealthy family. It had most likely been a normal and quiet life for me, until one night, we got attacked and our house burned down. I had no place to go and since lived on the streets.

However, I met a man while stealing a loaf of bread and running through the crowded streets. He was extraordinary, and I didn't understand why he wanted me out of all people. He told me had heard of my tragedy and that he knew how strong I was.

He's the man that made me who I am now. Lynette Everleigh was the cover name he had given me. He's wealthy, so I have a good place to live. He owns a company that sells various kinds of tea from all over the globe. It seems like a good cover for an assassin, I suppose.

His name's Arthur Gladstone. A pretty ordinary man on first glance. Tall, good stature, dark blonde hair that's usually slick back, green, piercing eyes and a clean appearence. No one would suspect such a man to be an assassin and boss.

"Lynette, I have a new mission for you." Arthur looked up from the paperwork he was working on and slid it across the desk to where I was sitting so I could take a look.

"Ciel Phantomhive...?" I asked slightly confused as I skimmed through his file. " You want me to assassinate a child?" I complained, thinking that this job was way too easy for me. "Believe me, this one's a hard one because of the butler that serves him." Arthur pointed out.

I cocked an eyebrow. "A butler?" I sighed. "Come on, stop fooling around." Arthur was still serious. "I'm serious, Lynette. That Butler protects the boy at all costs. We have no information of him whatsoever."

As I looked at the boy's file, a certain thing caught my attention. "The Queen's watchdog..." I mumbled. "Exactly. His Family has always been a good customer of our teahouse, but it seems that he's close to finding out of my real business." Arthur seemed slightly angry. "That brat's good." He added.

I stood up from my chair. "Well, guess I better get that job done." I said and made my way towards the door to get my stuff. "No, Lynette. As I said, this one's not as easy." Arthur interjected.

God, what am I doing...? I thought to myself as I stood infront of the huge Phantomhive manor. How did I end up there? Well, since this mission's not an easy one, I need to gain the family's trust at first, so Arthur made a plan.

I'll be staying with the boy for a while, because he was interested in a business where the Funtom Company and the Tea House partner up together. I, as the "owner's daughter" should look over the boy to make sure that he's playing no dirty tricks.

And since my "father" is a noble person, I now must act like one too. Good manners, a pretty appearance, acting weak and innocent. God, how I hated that. I had to wear extraordinary dresses covered in bows in laces, corsets leaving no room for me to breathe, accessories that jingles with every step I took in my high-heeled boots. Damn those noble people.

(Imagine you wearing this dress along with some black high-heeled boots on the day you arrived)

"You must be Lady Everleigh." A voice ripped me out of my thoughts. "I am Sebastian Michaelis, the head butler of the Phantomhive family." The tall, raven haired man introduced himself. His red eyes pierced right into my soul, causing me to feel a little uneasy.

"Now, please follow me inside." Sebastian softly said. "Finny, please carry Mrs. Everleigh's belongings into her assigned room." He said as we walked past a group of servants. From their looks, I supposed they were a Gardener, Chef and a Maid.

"Come in." Sebastian opened the huge entrance doors and led me inside, where the boy was already awaiting me. He stood infront of the huge staircase that was in the middle of the entrance hall. "Pleased to meet you, Mrs. Everleigh." He said and stretched out his hand. "I'm Earl Ciel Phantomhive. I hope you'll feel comfortable during the time you're here." Ciel said with a small smile. "The pleasure's mine." I simply replied, shaking his hand.

"Sebastian, show her her room. Make sure to show her the best hospitality of the Phantomhive's." Ciel said, gaining a smirk from the butler in response. "Certainly. Now, if you please follow me, Miss Lynette." The butler already called me by my first name by then. Not that I cared.

As we arrived in the room, the small boy that had carried my trunks inside was setting up a few flowers in the room. "Ah, Sebastian!" He seemed nervous. "I'm sorry, I thought a few flowers could make the place look nicer...!" He mumbled. Sebastian sighed. "Thank you, Finny. You might leave now."

"They're very pretty." I said, since I noticed that the blonde boy looked kind of bummed out. His face immediately lit up and a smile came across his face. "Thank you, Miss!" He cheerfully said as he left the room, waving.

"Sorry, he often acts on his own." Sebastian said. "Make yourself at home." He added with a smile. "We've prepared afternoon tea scheduled at 3. We'll be expecting you in the dining hall." Sebastian made his way to the doorway.

"Wait, do you have a telephone I could use so I can tell my father I got here safely?" I asked. Sebastian turned around and smiled at me. "Of course, follow me, Miss Lynette." He said, going ahead.

"They show great hospitality, I must admit." I said into the phone, getting a sigh in response. "Just gain their trust quickly and finish them off, okay?" Arthur asked. "Be safe, Lynette." The man at the other end said before hanging up. Even though he's just my boss, he often acts as if he was my father.

He had taken care of me since I was 9, so I guess it's kinda understandable. But now that I'm 16, I think I can pretty much take care of myself.

I looked at my pocket watch, noticing it was almost 3pm. I quickly made my way to the dining hall to have tea with Ciel.
