The Past Haunts/ New Beginnings

Everything hurts. Everything feels unreal and blurred. My body felt heavy. Extremely heavy. I took exaggerated breaths to keep my self-consciousness. This can't be real. It certainly feels why that this doesn't feel real. I feel numb and worn out.  Why did we not listen? The thunderbird was right. Why didn't we listen to them? Could everything be rewind? Can we start again and fix our decisions. I won't accept everything that I lost. I will not accept that they are all gone. It can't be true, can it? Creator, why have you not answered me? I did something bad. Something in me snapped, from a depth, I did not know I had... I thought my whole existence could not feel in-depth emotions like others.....

All I felt was rage, anger, and for some reason, a stronger emotion emerged from all the pain and hurt. I wanted to reflect it onto others. I wanted them all to feel the pain I bared, the feeling of being torn apart piece by piece. Is that emotion suppose to be fast-moving? Was it only suppose to last an instant? Or was it an instinct I was not supposed to have? Are anger and pain suppose to feel like a million needles impaling and scratching the soft warm flesh I wear upon my being? I feel like those types of feelings are not supposed to be felt by a Star, but yet, I felt them? My star broke, so does that make me broken? What am I without my star? Does feeling emotions other than empathy make me a fallen star? Creator, please answer me? What am I?

[3rd POV]

Stumbling as Kur made their way across the unfamiliar and strange ground as they landed upon a creek full of water that stung and burned their tender flesh. The pain became much unbearable before reaching a towering silhouette of a stabled structure as Kur leaned against it before sinking to the graveled surface feeling the blades of the colored surroundings what Kur thought to be the alienated surface known as grass. Whimpering in pain as their eyes closed, body relaxed slumping against the large structure. Unknown to Kur's now unconsciousness there was more than just them. Further down a purple checkered path stood an approaching silhouette that seemed to glow with a teal purple tint. (I am just gonna post their portraits since I do not wish to describe something wrong with their wardrobe)

The light sound of humming could be heard as the newcomer came closer. An object floated next to them as if held some of the purple-tinted light. The humming became louder before they stopped and took notice of the unconscious being slumped against the twisted tree that could be mistaken as a simple fairy tale tree. Finding it oddly strange that an injured being would be in this neck of the forest without being at least attacked or even more injured. The figure sighed knowing that their mere observation will not satisfy the need for answers or the true reason why this being was as injured as they were. Stepping off the checkered path the sounds of soft crunches were made as they made it closer to Kur's unconscious form.

Only now a foot away from the unconscious form the being bent down and seemingly just observed the pained yet relaxed facial expression of Kur's form. Fate may be the one at hand to have such a coincidence of scenarios but the figure shook their head. 'Poor thing doesn't have much of a chance if they even do wake up. To leave another behind due to severe injuries. It may be its best interest that I just send them off before they wake as it's cruel to those who are weak here' they thought as they went into touch Kur's forehead but before they could even touch the soft flesh there was a sudden spark as well as black sclera's held golden honey irises.

Out of reflexes, the other jumped back and with a flash of purple light, a staff appeared in one hand as the other was crossing over to sorta block the area where the object floated. Pale face was written with hints of shock and a bit of fear. A small pained groan escaped the chapped lips of Kur as they narrowed their eyesight can make out the blurred image of the other. For a few moments, they nearly held each other's gaze. With a low and raspy voice, Kur finally spoke, "w-who are you?"

The other seemed to loosen their stance a slight as they slowly stood to their feet seemingly towering over Kur's slumped form. "So you can speak and respond," It wasn't a question more like an observational quote, "I should be asking the same question as you are in my territory injured the way you are." Their voice sounding of thick honey and low tones that could send someone to sleep. Kur merely looked up and seemed to wince in pain as they moved their head slightly and gritted their teeth. "I'll exchange information if you speak first," the other spoke as they leaned forward watching Kur closely.

With a pained tinted voice, Kur spoke, "I can only verify my name and give you what I once was not that I know of what I am now," Kur groaned as they moved to try and readjust their posture but only managed to move in a way that caused more pain, a breathless whimper escaped as they looked back up at the other. "I went by the name of Kur, I was known as the Star of Dreams but I fear I showed emotions and shattered my star," they hissed as they felt something burn on the right side of their face right over their right eye.

The other pressed their lips as they thought noticing how the different color tones in Kur's hair seemed to be inked over in black strands. Like the color just melted away. A cracked ground texture over Kur's right eye as it seemed to have red substances leaking from the cracks. "These injuries seemed to match a fall and explosion. However, no one can be a Star especially here... but where you came from might match your falling distance," sighing as they knew they had to keep their word, "My name is Velacera, and you don't seem to be a hellspawn or else you would've been dead already or attacked me." Velacera spoke out their observation.

Though Kur's facial expression never changed from the pained one to say the less Kur was worried about what Velacera might be referring to as in dead or attacking another. "H-hellspawn?" It was surely a new word to Kur as they never heard of a creation such named as a 'hellspawn'. Velacera eased a bit before leaning back standing straight again.

"Your not a spy nor an enemy so....." Velacera let the staff disappear in a swirl of purple fire and looked around, "I guess there is no reason to truly kill you. However, if I leave you here some other hellspawn will come along and without hesitation kill you right off." Kur's facial expression changed slightly to show an inch of fear. "My home is not far from here," Velacera faced Kur once more and sighed, "are you able to move or hold your own weight upright?"

Kur gritted their teeth as they tried to move their limbs to push off the tree to stand. The tattered night kimono they wore rustled with their movements as they fought with their worn-down muscles to move. Unfortunately when the raw acid burned flesh touched the blades of grass and the rough surface of the gravel Kur could not stop or control the gasped whimper that was louder to almost as if a hurt animal called out. Velacera's lips pressed hard as they observed Kur try to get up. With the searing pain being difficult to focus on anything else Kur began to fall forwards if it wasn't for the purple-hued colored gloves being insight as they were caught mid-fall.

"Well at least you still have feeling in your body but let's get you to putting your weight leaning on me since any more noises will surely alert nearby hellspawns," Velacera seemed to sighed and helped Kur to maneuver standing with one of Kur's arm pulled over across the backside of Velacera's neck. 'They are a bit taller than me but hopefully, they won't realize that with the help of my hat..... Hopefully, no one else heard their painful call', Velacera thought as they took a step hoping that Kur would get the hint and move with them.

With quick thought and pushing the pain back, Kur began to move forward and followed in step with Velacera. It was all a blur to Kur as they walked in silence. "Where is this place?" Kur asked in curiosity as they walked. It passed Velacera's thoughts when first introductions. They didn't expect this to end up with them taking something nothing of this realm home but fate had other plans.

"This is Makai, a realm in which monsters are known as eldritch horrors or understandable terms hellspawns dwell. Where there is no time to be naive as anyone can drive you to the bricks of insanity," Velacera's throat suddenly felt dry as they looked at the gazed eyes of Kur, "unlike others, I do not wish for such things as it's just an ideology I go by. I would rather sit by and merely observe than get involved with little brawls. If it was anyone else here that came across you then I do say your sanity be non-existent. Or even dead dependant on which hellspawn discovered you."

"You're different then?" Kur asked as they heaved their arm the grasp the collar of their tattered clothing, "you are nice. A wholehearted hellspawn?" It felt weird to say a new word Kur did not understand yet as Velacera just sighed.

"I wouldn't say nice just I think differently than most. I have different morals than other hellspawns," Velacera grumbled out. Kur raised an eyebrow before gritting their teeth as a burning pain ran through them all of a sudden. Biting back a whimper Kur took deep breathes as they looked down at the checkered path. "My guess that you are suffering from acid burns. Did you land in a stream before I found you?" Velacera gave a concerned look at Kur.

"I did feel suddenly soaked but it burnt my skin raw," Kur breathed out, "Is that what you call acid?" You could hear the exhaustion within Velacera's sigh as they merely nodded their head. Kur groaned as they tried to fight back more of the pain.

"I know how to treat the acid wounds, however, there are other wounds I am quite curious about cause I have never seen one perplexion crack like it was simply glass. But I digress as there's a lot I wish to know about and merely draw up a conclusion myself on what you are." Velacera sighed as they stopped in front of a building halfway resembling an old fashion three-story European house that had made Kur think of a candle as the shape was resembling of such but more of a darker texture. "We're here," Velacera spoke softly as they moved forward sliding the sliding door open and getting Kur to step over the threshold of the door before leading Kur over to a corner full of cushions and help them sink into the cushions before running back over to the sliding door and shutting it closed.

"These walls are enchanted so now no sound can escape. Now time to address those wounds but the first ordeal of business is to wash the remaining acid off of your skin to stop irritation on your skin and maybe some herbal remedies should help with the burning you are dealing with, now," there was a slight tint reflecting on their glasses, "I am going to help you disrobe and deal with the rinsing of your clothing since you do need an attire as you have much different clothing requirements."

Kur did not mind anything they said as they slightly doze off the pressure now released as they were somewhere soft. Velacera began to move around in the room going from room to seeming to gather materials and hummed as they went. Kur closed their eyes and simply fell asleep. Not long after Kur closed their eyes they felt the light touch and merely opened their eyes. Velacera stood in front of them seem a little shorter than what Kur remembered but realized that while Kur dozed Velacera had taken off the hat they wore though a little flame could be seen hovering over the ahoge Kur didn't know they had. "The bath is prepared but I need you to stay conscious for now," Velacera spoke softly, "I need to do other things and I do not wish to see you drown just because you fell asleep in the bath."

Kur slowly nodded their head as Velacera held out their hand and helped Kur stand to their feet once more and had Kur lean against them as they walked over to another sliding door and entered a semi-warm room as Velacera lead Kur to sit on a stool and sighed. Kur looked up with glazed-over eyes, "what is the matter?" The sudden noise of Kur speaking made Velacera jump out of thought.

"It nothing but that we need to undress you and see how much damage that the acid caused and what other third party injuries you have as well," Velacera went over to grab a cloth and kept their back turned, "so please disrobe the soiled kimono as that needs to be cleaned or at least try to salvage due how to the fabric is nearly falling apart." Velacera began to mumble after that as Kur looked down at their sleeping kimono as their eyes darkened as they remembered what happened. Frowning as Kur undid the obi and let the kimono fall off their shoulders Velacera turned back around and just stood there before sighing in relief. "Well, nothing life-threatening but acid burns and bruising from when you fell," Velacera walked over before dipping the cloth into the warm bathtub and slowly squeezed the extra water before holding it a few inches from Kur.

"Can I touch you?" Velacera asked as Kur looked at the cloth before looking back up and nodding. Velacera breathed out a sigh of relief as they began to wipe down some of the acid burns to see if Kur would have any negative reaction to any herbs that were used for the bath. Too much of Velacera's surprise, the burn marks turned from a fiery red to a slight pink just by a simple swipe of the herbs. Surprised by this discovery Velacera thought back to the books they read and what Kur said they remembered and other key observations that he had noticed. "You're a Celestial, correct?" Kur hummed slightly as in acknowledged as they nodded.

"Yes, but I destroyed my Star by feeling hateful emotions," Kur slightly explained, "I have no idea or explanation onto why I am still alive." Velacera looked up before sighing and brought the cloth away from Kur.

"Hang on I think I have a book that may explain but while I am away just make yourself comfortable in the tub while I am gone," Velacera stood straight and set the cloth on the edge of the tub before turning around and exited out of the room sliding the door shut as the soft sounds of steps could be heard. Kur merely tilted their head before looking at the tub and sighed before grabbing on the ledge of the tub to pull themselves up and groaned in pain. It still did hurt but not entirely all over their body as much. Was it the herbs Velacera had mentioned but Kur did not wish to question much more as they slowly slid into the warm water? Looking at the water Kur felt at peace as the pain that they felt was numb and more of a relaxing feeling as they leaned against the wall of the tub.

Velacera came back into the room not long after and came in carrying a book that was aged and large in depth. "So I found what you might be referring too but then again I think you might be the 1% that has no information on. Cause it states most stars become nothing but stardust and start to recreate newer stars," Velacera opened the book on the stool and opened tp the page that he was referring to and sighed, "there's little information about the 1% but maybe King Enma's books might be able to explain this!"

'King Enma? Who's that?' Kur thought as they looked at Velacera questionably, 'could it be that this King Enma is the ruler of this realm? ' Kur was deep in thought as they felt the warm water being dumped over their head. Closing their eyes out in instinct, after the water went over their eyes Kur reopened them and looked up to see that Velacera had grabbed a smaller bucket and began to pour water over their head. Looking down at the water Kur had noticed that instead of the white sudds they saw first sliding in was now tinted red as blood was being rinsed off into the water.

"Well at least the blood is not stained and can easily be washed," Velacera voiced out their thoughts before setting the bucket down, "Just continue to soak here why I try to salvage your kimono until we can get you something better than this tattered mess." Kur looked over to see Velacera pick up the tattered and discarded kimono as Velacera sighed and threw the tattered kimono into a basin as he walked over to a shelf and grabbed a few things. "But then again I think I have a few things that might fit but I do not know for sure that they will fit," Velacera spoke as he began to fill the basin and started to pour a thick like mixture into the water as suds began to appear and reached in and started to squeeze water out of the fabric as the same thing happened to the bathwater.

So much blood but it was theirs. Not their citizens' blood like they feared as the acid-washed away the blood of the other but awakened their own spwell of their blood. It would be a lie if they thought this didn't unnerve them as it came as a shocking on how injured they had become. Slumping into the bath some more Kur looked up at the ceiling as they merely thought and tried to reason with their thoughts. There was still so much that they had no clue or what even happened after blacking out. "Kur," Kur turned their head looking over at Velacera, "don't fall asleep in that tub." Kur nodded their head as they merely lifted their arm and noticed all the acid burn marks gone and bruising became a light bluish color.

Astound at the healing capability of the herbs Kur smiled and let their arm slide back into the water and closed their eyes. "Kur you better not be falling asleep in that tub," Kur opened their eyes and looked over at Velacera who had taken a scrubbing board and began to scrub the kimono up and down on the board. Kur watching as blood and dirty water slid down the board on the other end until it ran clear. "With this much blood and grim I'd thought you had come from a battlefield but you didn't......strange how this fabric is nearly destroyed just by one dip into acid...... not very protective for this realm," Velacera mumbled some more to themselves as Kur looked at the bathwater to see the red tint in the water and suds.

"Velacera," Kur spoke softly as Velacera looked up, "Thank you, I deeply owe you for sparing my existence and giving me more of a fighting chance though I have not done anything for you."
