Silence Before Prophecy
[Edited 5/1/21]
It has been a few years since the passing of a dear friend. It has been very quiet for the time though the twins are becoming very close friends with Burakku, Seimi, and me. Though they wish to not talk about their deceased parental figure. I was still concerned about their emotional state. But I do respect their decisions about not wanting others to worry about them. But I can't help but be concerned. It was manually wired into my core of worrying for others. But yet I am to show full emotions to help those who reside in my solar system. "Kur-sama?" I heard from beside me. Turning my head Kanro was standing next to me as a faint smile was displayed on her lips.
Giving a small smile back and tilted my head. "Care for a dumpling," she held out a tray full of little bundles of soft doughy treats, "sister and I made them freshly this evening." Her generosity was very appreciated as I reached out to the tray and grabbed one of the dumplings. "Thank you for your offer, I will gladly take a dumpling," she gave a warm smile before moving over to Seimi and asking him the same question. Very generous indeed. Taking a tiny bite of the dumpling I let the taste fill my senses before smiling softly at tastes. Humming softly I kept eating the tasty dumpling. "Yo Kur-sama," I looked over to where Burakku sat as he held a scroll towards me, "here's the list of this weeks cargo my crew has picked up this coming trip and also someone is expecting the next outing and wishes to directly speak to you and the "Devil" and the "elder" of this solar system.''
Taking the scroll I opened it and started to read the contents. The handwriting was neat and curvy. Must be another handwriting. Neat and organized must be one of his crew's handwriting. Reading down the list I noticed there was a foreign word I have never seen. "Burakku," I looked up from the list to see him looking over at me, "what is this foreign object known as 'choco-la-et'? it seems so unfamiliar to me." Burakku gave a confused look before smirking and covering his mouth as he chuckled before that turned into laughter. What was so funny? Was it something that I have pronounced? It has to be as I noticed that Yudokuna was being held back by her sister Kanro as Yudokuna wanted to seriously harm Burakku. Seimi was off to the side shaking his head as he poured himself another cup of herbal tea. "Oh, my word," Burakku chuckled out as he straightened his posture, "Chocolate is the correct pronunciation, and well it's a type of rich flavoring of sweets. It's hard to describe. It's better for you to taste it rather than me sitting here explaining it in little to no detail."
Seimi sighed as he took a sip from his cup as Burakku picked up his cup and began to drink his share of tea. Looking back at the list back down at the word as it started to make sense to me. Going further down the list I read more of its contents. They were all normal necessities but then again having others on a star that is unable to have a lot of things. I am a disappointment of a star if I am not able to provide what is needed for my residents. It is hard to describe what I am feeling but I know from seeing from others it's something that comes naturally at times. But I have no name to put to this natural feeling. "Kur-sama?" I snapped back to focus towards Seimi who was holding a cup towards me. Giving a small smile, I reached out and grabbed the cup from Seimi and slowly brought it closer to me. "Kur are you feeling alright?" Seimi asked as I rolled the script back up. "Just thinking is all," I gave a small smile before raising the cup to my mouth and took a sip from the hot liquid.
"There's more, isn't there, Kur?" Burakku asked as he took another dumpling from the tray, "ever since our dear friend passed away you have been staring out into the open skies a lot lately. I have been here as long as the previous Elder and I know we all miss him... Heck, I miss them. But it is better to talk to others or try to look on the bright side of things," Burakku got hit with a serving tray from the back of the head by Yudokuna before she set the tray back down. Burakku rubbed the back of his head as Yudokuna sat back down next to Kanro as Seimi shook his head. "It is not the death that is the only thing on my mind," I gave a small smile, " there were several dreams in a row that I found terrifying and I fear some of those dreams are not make-believe but traumatic memories constantly playing over and over again for them. I wish no ill or harmful dreams on anyone and I've been thinking of ways to ease those dreams to peaceful dreams."
I half told the truth parts of it was a lie but I am concerned with dreams...... I know where those dreams are coming from and what they are leading to..... but 'creator' has not spoken to me for centuries..... though I try to reach out to them. Though I receive nothing from them in return. They all looked at me before looking at each other then shrugged. "I am sure you can ease their suffering soon," Kanro gave a warmful smile, "you are perfect for the job and if you need any support we are right here for you, Kur-sama." She was smiling and I couldn't help but smile myself. Kanro's smile is very addictive I must say, but that is beside the point of being worried. There are many harmful dreams that are overwhelming to the point of it being a deadly issue. Then again I might be overlooking something, I will surely have a chance to ask for the stranger coming our way. "So other than the few dreams that worry you" Yudokuna spoke with her eyes lidded, "how is the dreamscape since you are constantly going deep into thoughts, well your moments where you never respond or trail off."
Yudokuna hit home there. She was clever I admit to that. "Now, now, Yudokuna you don't have to shoot the arrow so far this time around. Kur-sama has always seemed to trail out at times but then again they are the Star of dreams," Burakku simply waved dismissively towards Yudokuna as she huffed before grabbing the novel she was reading earlier and opening it back up to her spot. It was a relief that everyone got along and worried about each other. There's nothing more that I could possibly ask for well other than the horrible dreams to disappear. Giving a light smile as I merely sat there observing over the others. They deserve more than what I can give them, yet why do they still stand by me? Why stay when I am able to produce some most reliable resources. They risk everything staying with me...... I wish not to be alone but never felt greedy to keep company against their wills.
I do not believe in such things. Everyone is free. Free to love. Free to explore. That's what I believe in and I can only hope that my residents take to that as well. "Kur-sama?" I looked over towards Seimi as he stood up before pointing to the docks as I saw the large ship being pulled down from floating. So our guest has arrived. This is going to be an interesting encounter. I do hope this guest brings great news.
