Near the End?
A few hours have passed since Emerald was taken. Burakku had taken charge of the situation and started helping to repair the damage that was done to the library. Kur paced the landing outside of the library as Chuma was writing in his journal. "Kur," Chuma questioned with concern hinted, "you will cause more tension to build and your thoughts will become illogical if you keep pacing like that," Kur stopped midstep before looking at Chuma, "besides we saw how their thought process worked back on Akumu no-Kage's star... they aren't the brightest bunch so they couldn't have gotten far. As you stated before Lumerians can withstand most things and with that bunch, Emerald can hold her own for just enough for us to catch up."
Kur frowned before they walked over to Chuma, "I know those two seemed like the less of the logical side of brightest but I fear the one that truly caused my trauma and harm are meeting up with the others... They are the force I am fearing the most..." Chuma closed his journal before looking up once more.
"So that's what got you pacing like a madman," Chuma folded his arms in thought, "but I can assure you that we will get there, Burakku did say that fast repairs were needed to gather information. Mentioning that there are several older maps that only the librarians have access to and that might lead to where they might be heading to," Chuma looked to the entranceway to the library, "by helping damage control he was planning at looking at the old maps to navigate us to the likely place... I know how much you trust Burakku so please trust that Emerald can be strong just for a while." Kur sighed as they knew Chuma was correct about their trust in Burakku but something still felt off.
Like something was stirring inside their chest as the doors to the library's entrance opened as Burakku walked out holding a large scroll. "There you two are, come on we're setting sail those lovely librarians lemme map out where we need to go." Burakku gave a wide toothy grin, "They were all so grateful for the assistance what wonderful staff they are... Now off to beat some sore losers behind!" Burakku chuckled as he brought some cinematics to his antics.
"You act like you are performing on stage, Burakku," Chuma commented as Burakku walked past his and down the steps. Burakku turned around opened his mouth before closing it [That's what I thought don't break the fourth wall Burakku] before smiling. "You just like to play around don't you?" Chuma asked as Burakku turned back around before throwing his hand's chest height and shrugging his shoulders.
"Nah, I just like to keep others guessing," Burakku chuckled teasingly stated before taking a step onto the dock and handing the map to Senerity, "can you do the honors in placing the coordinates into the system and making sure that the system doesn't glitch like the last time when putting into old coordinates." Chuma raised an eyebrow as Burakku stated that.
"Glitched?" Chuma questioned as Burakku turned around, "just how advanced is your ship?" Burakku gave a toothy grin. As Kur shook their head knowing that Burakku was going to light-heartedly brag about the engineering of his ship and what types of technology were used to create the massive ship. Burakku stepped towards Chuma and Kur as he stepped around and gently lean forward still with the toothy grin.
"I mean I can give you a grand tour of my ship's backdoor, and the many gadgets that are placed for its workings," Burakku began as he placed a hand on Chuma's and Kur's shoulders. "It took a lot of runes to be able to create many of the gadgets that are installed into the ship. But I got a bigger ship that is on hold due to complications to several materials being hard to find and collect... but I have plans on getting it into the air soon enough as the last few runes are not as important as the other runes but just extra features." Burakku began as a cocky grin played along his lips.
Kur sighed as they shook their head knowing that Chuma is going to get an earful of Burakku explaining everything about his ship. Or one could call it his darling baby. As Burakku continued explaining more about the ship and its main functions and whatnots.
~~~Le Time Skip~~~
Kur silently stood near the railing of the ship. Looking far beyond where the farthest light could be seen. "Kur?" the voice of Chuma alerted Kur as they looked to the side where Chuma now stood. "Are you feeling alright? You've been very quiet for the last several hours now... Even Burakku has begun to worry," Chuma stated as Kur frowned.
"Merely immersed in my thoughts Chuma," Kur answered. "Thoughts have gotten me more than once lately... I use to do so also when I was still a star but I had others that knew how to interact with me and get me from my immersed train of thought. Burakku was really never one of them as they didn't really wish to disturb me with anything too severe." Kur turned their attention back to the wide horizon. They could hear Chuma hum in acknowledgment. "But some thoughts are troublesome at times... Especially the negative ones where I still blame myself for not being able to save the lives that were lost that faithful day. Even though I hear from many that either way bad things will still happen. But it still hurts." It was Chuma's turn to sigh.
"So that's what is bugging you," Chuma stated once more as Kur nodded their head, "look Kur, I know I may not have experienced something to that scale but you've made it this far. In all my experiences not many are strong enough to last as long as you have, many felt the guilt to where it drove them insane or even have taken their own lives. But here you are taking several steps forward and getting the closure you want from all the grief you have had to endure till this moment. That's what makes you strong, you still being here is what is making you strong." Chuma leaned against the railing next to Kur, "In all honesty, if I experienced the same or something very similar I know more than just thoughts would be bothering me. But please keep in mind that you got all of us to always turn to if needed. Burakku seems to care for you deeply along with the crew here. Not to mention that you have me and Velacera and the majority of Makai that worry for you so it's no troubles if you reach out if your thoughts become too much for you to handle."
Chuma sighed and looked over at Kur half expecting just a hum of acknowledgment, "I see," Kur spoke softly, "thank you for your kind words as I did not see past my own thoughts... I guess while I attended others time to time I never knew how to deal with my own thoughts or even reach out for advice in reasoning with some of the darker ones." Kur looked up and gave a soft smile as they stood straight. "Now we should be entering the region where Burakku mentioned we must be ready knowing that we must act fast." Chuma stood up and nodded his head as well before looking towards the landmass that was steadily coming into view.
