"I Love You, Sebby."
Just as the morning daybreak began to pool throughout the deserted streets of London I suddenly saw a band of snowflakes begin to descend down from within the sweeping pearlescent white clouds that were nestled around the blazing sun.
The kaleidoscopic crystallized snow gently fell from the sky, shimmering with a radiant luster as it blanketed the tops of the shingled roofs.
I stared down at the frothy glistering snow in awe as I extended out my hand, allowing the frozen ice to melt into my palm.
The opaline winter light reflected in my eyes as my frostbitten knuckles turned a cracked red hue.
Patches of white had begun to coat over the tiptops of buildings, clustering over the households of many as gray flurries of chimney smoke ascended into the horizon from the metal flues. Everyone's fires inside warming them up, keeping them from the chill of the first snowfall.
Soon, appearing in a streak of black was Sebastian, just like I figured. He always said that all I had to do was call his name, and apparently he didn't lie.
With a bittersweet look I glanced over at him, noticing that his white dress shirt was un-tucked, and that his butlers tie was undone, him not even donning his signature white gloves either. For once he looked disheveled, a frantic, worried look strewn across his face, and he actually didn't look like the perfect flawless butler that he had so diligently been Masquerading around as. For once, there was a crack in his persona.
He looked confused, and betrayed, a familiar look that mimicked my very own back when he had abandoned me, making me feel bad. For I had done the exact same thing to him as he had done to me so long ago, but I had to get back to my plan.
It was a lovely day to die after all, the first snow of the winter season, so I couldn't miss out on this chance.
Swiftly, without a single audible word escaping my mouth I jumped onto the thin metal railing, and I gazed down at how high up I was. Seeing the vacant snow covered cobblestone floor below me looking so small, and out of reach.
With an assured gaze that was the complete opposite of Sebastian's distressed one I refused to back down. I wanted to die.
With that, I simply fell, outstretching my arms as if I was about to flop onto a bed, but instead of a cushiony mattress, I would soon meet the frigid stone ground.
"Elsbeth!" I heard Sebastian scream, his usual smooth voice strained with a sense of fear as he heedlessly jumped as well to save me.
With a poised, tricky smirk I pulled out Ash's rapier sword, immediately forcing Sebastian, who was now beside me in mid-air, to hold onto the weapon.
I wrapped my hands tightly around his in a vice-grip, and just as I was about to collide against the thin snow layered ground I forced Sebastian's arms to move, letting the silver blade plunge straight through my chest.
With that I heard Sebastian's frightened "No!" emit from his lungs.
It was all a technicality, even though it was forced upon by me to have Sebastian pierce the sword through me, it was still done by his own hands, and that was the loophole that it took for me to finally die.
Sebastian held onto me tightly as we hit the ground, him taking most of the impact while I just fell into his arms. The agonizing sting of the sword penetrating through my heart, making stings of blood pour out the sides of my mouth.
I smiled, the snowflakes trickling down onto my face, and eyelashes as my blood pooled out along the stone pavement, tainting the snow that was around me with a vivid red.
I opened my mouth, my Vampire fangs disappearing along with the black that had tainted my claw like fingernails.
I was a human again, for a split second before my time was up. The pain only worsening for now I also had the weak body of a human again too, the supernatural power that I had running through my veins constantly because of Sebastian now dwindling away.
"Sorry I had to resort to such tricks..." I shakily spoke in a breathy voice, Sebastian's pained look reflecting in my sky shaded gaze.
I felt him pull me closer to him, his arms wrapped around my stiff, dying form. His expression was a mixture of anger, fury, sorrow, and loss. A grim hollow look that I had never seen on him before.
I extended out my hand to his face, and gently caressed his pale cheek.
"You see, I knew that if I jumped, you'd fall to catch me. I knew that in these many years of knowing you that I had become your only weakness. I knew that the human emotions that I gave you also included fear, and with fear comes acting without thinking," I said. "So, I tricked you for that was the only way I could die... I used myself as bait. Its so simple now that I think about it. I can't believe that it took me this long to figure it out."
I coughed up more blood, my weak gaze staring up at Sebastian, only to notice a single tear trickle down his face past his sorrow filled crimson eyes.
Using the last of my remaining energy I pushed myself up to hug him, a warm smile laced onto my blood stained lips as I began to shut my eyes.
Flashes of my parents, Ciel, and Sebastian entered into my mind in my fleeting moments.
"I love you, Sebby..." I uttered out before letting myself die finally, collapsing into his arms lifelessly.
