When Sapphire got home she noticed her house was empty and that her father wasn't around anywhere.

"Hmm I wonder where dad is normally whenever I get home half an hour before midnight." Sapphire said to herself.

She then saw that the kitchen light was on so she went in to see what was going on in there. When she got into the kitchen she saw that there was a chocolate cake on the table along with a note. She picked up the note and began reading it out-loud.

"Dear Sapphire, I was called in for a business trip for a few days. The cake was from a friend so I hope you enjoy it. There's leftovers in the fridge and remember the rules. Don't take off your eye patch unless you're in the house and there aren't any humans inside with you. Don't go outside when it hits midnight and only come out with your eyepatch on. Don't suppress it for 24 hours, take your eye patch off when you get back inside the house... Hmm I know this dad, but don't worry I'll remember the rules." Sapphire said to herself.

She then took her eye patch off which relieved her of the pain she was feeling in her eye.

"AGGH! Fuck that feels so much better suppressing that hurts like hell!" Sapphire said to herself. She then slipped her hoodie off and tied it around her waist.

"Hmm well I did my homework before running into those strange men and I don't feel tired so I might watch some TV for a bit." Sapphire said to herself then plopped herself down on the couch and began watching TV. She switched the channels for a while till she found one to watch.

(Meanwhile At Oliver's house)

When Oliver got home his mother wasn't home which wasn't much of a surprise to him. His mom mostly acted like he didn't exist and didn't give him any love or attention. She mostly spent nights with random men to get money but would only use 10% of it on him while the rest she spent on herself.

This is why he worked double shifts at the coffee shop just to have some more money to use on himself. However the environment there wasn't all that great as he had to deal with karens and his mean coworkers all the time when he was there. One day he reached his breaking point and wanted to commit suicide just to end it all.

That day he prayed for someone to come and save him from death and his miserable life and that day it came true as that was when he met Sapphire.

(Flashback)

"THIS COFFEE IS TOO COLD MAKE IT AGAIN YOU WORTHLESS PIECE OF GARBAGE!" Karen screamed at Oliver then threw her cup at him. Oliver just picked up the cup and quietly walked back to the counter to remake the woman's drink.

"Hey you alright?" A soft soothing voice asked.

Oliver looked to his left and saw a beautiful girl with long black hair. She was also wearing a white hoodie, gray drawstring pants that were kinda baggy, and black shoes.

"O-Oh yeah I'm fine." Oliver said.

"You don't look fine and I heard what that woman said to you." the girl explained.

"Who are you? And why do you care?" Oliver asked.

"I'm Sapphire and I care because I don't like seeing other people sad." Sapphire explained.

"HEY WHEN ARE YOU GETTING ME MY COFFEE!" The woman screamed angrily.

"HEY KAREN SHUT UP! This young man is working hard to make us good coffee and you're yelling at him and calling him worthless! Shame on you mama the coffee could've been cold because you waited too long to drink it. It's not his fault and no one gave you the write to call him that!" Sapphire screamed.

This scared Karen and everyone else present the lady then just sat down and didn't say anything else.

"O-Oh thanks for that I guess." Oliver said.

"Hey don't mention it, I just can't stand people who make others feel inferior. Also if anyone ever makes you feel like that remember there's always someone out there who will pick you up when you fall down and I'm one of them." Sapphire said then went back to her seat. Oliver stood frozen for a few moments before going back to work.

(End Of Flashback)

Ever since that day Oliver always served Sapphire and whenever she talked to him she'd make him feel happy. Sapphire made him feel like he was important and that he mattered. This had saved him from suicide and he'd fallen in deep love with Sapphire wanting to do what ever he could to win her heart.

Oliver then headed up to his room and upon opening the door he once again saw his sanctuary and millions of photos of Sapphire. Oliver plopped down on his bed and pulled out some things from his bag. He pulled out his mask and the three weapons he used to eliminate the four men who tried to take Sapphire away from him.

"Hehe those idiots really thought they could just try and take Sapphire away from me? Ha I showed them I'll protect Sapphire at any cost as if I lose her I'll lose my only source of happiness. I can't lose her. Sapphire means the world to me and a world without Sapphire is a world I can't live in." Oliver said to himself he then looked at the altar he set up for Sapphire.

It had several pictures of her along with pen's she used up along with a coffee cup she drank from.

"Hehe Sapphire, you're everything to me and I won't allow anyone to take you from me." Oliver said to himself before getting ready for bed.

(Back at Sapphire's house)

Sapphire had just put on some pajamas and was about to plop herself into her bed when she heard glass shattering.

"What the hell!" Sapphire cried out.

She opened her room door and was horrified to see a masked man in her house. He had a sack on him along with a hammer which told her that if he found her she was as good as dead. Sapphire's left eye then started burning again which made her cover it out of fear.

'Nononono Don't let it come out repress it! Repress IT!' Sapphire thought to herself scared as she knew what was about to happen. However it was stronger and Sapphire cried as it took over her mind.

The man on the other hand was looking around for valuable items to steal and sell as the house looked rather old and to him that meant there had to be valuable items inside.

"Now where is the money?" The man asked himself.

He then started looking around all the rooms but he wasn't able to find anything.

"Damit come on with a house like this there has to be something." The man said to himself.

He then turned a corner and saw that there was a long dark hallway along with a light flickering at the end of it. When he looked at the end of the hallway he saw a dark figure with horns, wings, and a tail standing menacingly.

"What the Hell is that?" The man asked before getting his flashlight out and shining it at the end of the hallway.

When he did the fire disappeared and he shrugged it off as the light shining off of an object. He continued exploring the house not aware that something was following him waiting for him to slip up so they could strike.

As the man looked for riches he failed to notice the stairs that were coming up and he tripped over himself and fell down the stairs. This caused him to badly break his leg and arm rendering him mostly defenseless.

"AGH! Son of a bitch!" The man screamed out of pain.

He then tried to get back up the stairs, but when he looked up the stairs he saw the same dark figure, but this time it bared its sharp white teeth that glittered in the moonlight.

"W-WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU?!" The man screamed in fear and tried to back away.

The figure didn't answer, it just walked slowly up to him. The man then turned around and tried to get out as he realized that the house was home to something very dangerous.

He looked up and saw a door at the end of the hallway, which could be his way out. He then started crawling up to the door with the figure getting closer to him slowly. When he finally reached the door it turned out to be an illusion set up by the figure.

"No No No it can't end like this!" The man cried out.

He then heard a snarl and when he looked back he saw that the thing had caught up to him and had its claws in the air. The man flashed his flashlight at it thinking it hated light, but he instantly regretted it when he saw the horrific features the creature had.

The creature had white skin but its face had two holes in the cheeks showing off more of its teeth. It also had a long snakelike tongue, along with sharp black claws at the end of its hands. As for its eyes the right one was normal sapphire blue and had blood coming out of it, however the other one was black with a white outline of the satanic symbol and it had black goo coming out of it.

"P-please let me go and I won't ever come back again, j-just don't hurt me." The man pleated fearfully.

"Hehe ohh I would, but you came in too late and I'm hungry." The creature said in a demonic girl's voice.

All that could be heard from the house was the man scream of terror and agony.

(In the morning)

Sapphire came into school with a horrified look on her face and bags under her eyes.

"Hey Sapphire, are you okay?" Shara asked.

"Huh Oh yeah, I just couldn't get to sleep last night." Sapphire explained.

"Oh well if you start having sleep problems then try taking Melatonin it helps me out when I can't sleep." Shara explained.

"Thanks Shara, you're a good friend." Sapphire said.

"GUYS! GUYS! GUYS! YOU'VE GOTTA CHECK THIS OUT!" Charles screamed.

"Huh? Okay coming Charles and don't have a cow!" Shara called out.

"I wonder what he wants?" Sapphire asked.

"Well let's go find out cause he only gets this excited when something interesting happens in town." Shara explained. The two girls then went up to their friend and Ben showed up too.

"Ok Charles what's so important that you had to spam me while I was in the bathroom?" Ben asked.

"You guys are never gonna believe what my dad saw on the news today! Check this out!" Charles exclaimed and showed them the news on his phone.

The head line said the fallowing: four men found dead (btw its the men who tried to kidnap Sapphire in the previous chapter) Men are believed to be a part of human trafficking business along with the disappearance of several girls.

"Wow the hell that's crazy." Ben was surprised by this news.

"Yeah I can't remember the last serious crime that happened here. The only crime that happened here was a shoplifter and it was only a few candy bars." Shara explained.

"I know right this is awesome to have a little excitement and I kinda wonder who took those men out." Charles said.

"Well who knows but we should talk about this more at lunch. The bells are about to ring soon and I don't want to be late for class." Sapphire explained.

"Oh yeah right we'd better get to class before that happens I don't want our teacher giving us crap for being late." Charles said then the four friends went into school and their first class.

(Later in the day)

Sapphire was in her science class trying to complete the experiment they were working on. However she couldn't help but feel like someone was watching her as she felt eyes burning in the back of her head. When she looked back she saw a girl was staring at her intensely.

When she noticed Sapphire was looking at her she went back to the assignment. Soon the class ended and Sapphire turned in her work along with the strange girl who was staring at her. They then went outside of the class to wait for everyone else in the class to turn in their assignments.

"Hello there I'm Bethany and you must be Sapphire correct." Bethany whispered to Sapphire.

"Um yes that's me why?" Sapphire asked.

"Oh well I wanted to let you know that... I'm a demon hunter." Bethany said then looked at Sapphire to see her reaction.

Sapphire felt her heart leap in her throat by what Bethany said but she managed to hide her fear and remain calm.

"Oh is that some sorta club I haven't heard of?" Sapphire asked.

"No, it's something my family has done for years. We hunt and exterminate demons to keep them from destroying our world." Bethany explained.

"Oh well sounds like a stupid gig as everyone knows demons don't exist." Sapphire dismissed.

"That's what you think you just haven seen yet. Also mind if I ask but what happened to your left eye?" Bethany asked.

"I lost my eye in a car crash when I was younger. I think I was three at the time." Sapphire explained.

Before they could continue on with the conversation the rest of the class came out and they all went to their next class.

(After school)

Sapphire was standing outside the building talking with her friends just then Oliver came up to them.

"Hey guys, what are you all talking about?" Oliver asked.

"Just about the murder that happened to those four men on the news." Ben explained.

"Oh I heard about that, kinda scary." Oliver said.

"Yeah it is just scary thinking there's some kinda killer walking around on the streets and even if he killed bad people who's to say he wont kill good people too." Charles said.

"I agree that Charles, a killer, is a killer no matter who they killed." A female voice said.

The group looked and saw that it was Bethany, which made Charles start simping while Sapphire felt uncomfortable but didn't show it.

"Hey Bethany w-what's up?" Charles asked.

"Not much, but I wanted to ask you if you'd like to get some coffee with me at Panna's hot coffee?" Bethany asked.

Charles' face became red and he agreed to go with her almost instantly.

"Oh hey I work there I can't take you guys there and give you some great sets." Oliver offered.

"Oh thanks Oliver, that's awesome, what do you say Bethany?" Charles asked.

"Yeah that sounds rather nice, I'd like that." Bethany said.

"Okay well let's go see you all later." Oliver then led Charles and Bethany to the shop.

"Well I better get home now, see you guys later." Sapphire said then went back to her house.

(Later at the shop)

Charles and Bethany were sitting at a table enjoying some coffee and desserts. Charles was also telling Bethany some funny stories about the things his parents and siblings got wrapped up in.

"Hehe, well that was quite the incident with your brother and father." Bethany said.

"Yeah I couldn't stop laughing at them when they got locked in the new shed and when they thought there was a snake in there when it turned out to be a hose HAHAHA!" Charles laughed.

"Yeah... Well, I want to ask you something about your friend Sapphire." Bethany said.

"Oh what's that?" Charles asked.

"Oh nothing it's just that have you noticed any sorta strange behavior from her, like extreme hunger, rage, or even something shall we say demonic?" Bethany asked while resting her head on her hands.
