2nd day !

Day 2 (Little strange things)

It's the  second day and I already feel like running away from school. There was a "professional team" practicing, therefore, we, the "less professional" ones had to wait outside in the Sun. I do not consider myself to be a part of the category of "less professionals", by it I meant the other tall, hot and muscular men who were not the best. I was an alien. An unwanted alien in a basketball court, who knew nothing other than the fact that a basketball is circular in shape and orange in colour. I was getting roasted under the scorching heat, with the Sun dancing directly above my head and singing self - made songs, saying, I will suck up every bit of water left in your body.

"Hey, I smell something. I think something is on fire." Sally said while sniffing. I did not really know how but Sally said things that served as a base for my over witty jokes.

"I think it's me." I said.

"You what?" Sally asked, confused.

"On fire."

Sally giggled as she always did. The extremely shrill kind of giggle that would weird you out but also make you want to laugh out loud, was what Sally owned.

We finally entered the court. We entered last. It felt good that I was finally exposed to some shade. There were two different courts. One for the seniors and the other for us, the aliens. Sally did it again, left me deserted. That thought just had to tune up a little, rearranging the words into, oh I did it again.

She was too into the game. She had always been appreciative about the idea of trying new things, you can tell. Well, I did not care, as long as I went unnoticed. I just wanted to kill time and it was all okay with me to just loiter around without getting noticed.

That yesterday guy suddenly crossed my mind. I looked around to see whether he was there or not.

"Hey!" said a familiar voice. Oh! There he was.

"Oh! Hey there. I was just going to die out of shock but hey!" I exclaimed.

"Well, sorry for that. But are you just trying to kill time by loitering around? And you think you will not get noticed?"

"Well, that was my plan actually" Woah. Exact.

"I guess your plan ain't going to work", he stated.

"Oh yeah? Who said so?" I asked, a little shocked.

"I did."

"Hey! Hold on. Just because you have good shoulders, it does not mean I am going to follow your orders. Who are you? My mom?"

"Daniella is my mom"

Oh.

No.

"Wait. You mean Daniella Bennington? Our Principal?" I asked him, still shocked with an added bit of worry.

"Well yes. Also I am the sports captain. So you have no other option other than following my orders"

"Oh my gosh. I am so sorry. I did not-"

"I forgive you already, beautiful", he said and turned away to leave.

The last word made me blush. I called out after him, "Hey Chester! You will not talk about this to your mom, would you?" Chill, self, chill.

"I will think about that."

I knew what to do. Impress him. Pretend to be interested in the game.

I took the basketball in my hand and bounced it. First it went left after hitting the ground and then right. It then hit my forehead and then my little nose. I made sure that Chester was watching. He was making me do this. He wanted me to this. He watched with a serious expression. Finally for the climax scene, I stepped on the ball, tripped and fell.

Next when I opened my eyes, I saw Chester bending over me. With my eyelashes feathered over my breaches, and brain not working straight, I wondered how was I noticing the stunning brown, that enriched his eyeballs.

"Hey! Are you awake now?" he asked.

"Can't you tell?", it took me a while to adjust with the bright clinic lights (not quite applicable for his eyes).

"Did I faint?" I wanted to know.

"Yes. You did." Chester said.

"So does that mean that I don't have to play basketball anymore?"

He did not reply but I knew the answer.
