Heretical Claims of False Religion Against the Holy Spirit part 2
Dr. John Macarthur, well-known pastor and defender of the truth, defended the deity, co-equality, co-substantiality and co-eternality of the person of the Holy Spirit, on his book, Strange Fire:
"The Holy Spirit is the power of God in a divine person acting from creation to consummation and everything in between (cf. Gen. 1:2; Rev. 22:17). He is wholly God, possessing all the attributes of God in the fullness that belongs to God. There is no sense in which He is God diminished. He is participating fully in all of God's works. He is as holy and powerful as the Father and as gracious and loving as the Son. He is divine perfection in its fullness. Thus, He is worthy of our worship as fully as the Father and as fully as the Son.."
Modern-day Arians and Pneumatomachian cannot deny the personhood of the Holy Spirit, biblically. So, historically, and biblically speaking, it is already denied the claim of the Holy Spirit as just a force. He is a person. He is God (Acts 5:3-4). He is co-equal both to the Father and to the Son. No person with a very high view of the Scripture will deny this truth. We can memorize the whole Bible and yet deny this truth because of our arrogance and low view of the Scripture.
