So Get This (Explaining the Douchery)

*Claps hands together* Okie dokie, then. Let's get this show on the road.

If you're expecting Sabriel this chapter, I'm sorry that I can't give that to you just yet. Believe me, I'm mad at myself about it, but it must be done.

Joshua Dun *Looks proud of myself for that overused pun*

Sam wasn't sure what Gabe would like, so he made his own favorite breakfast: blueberry pancakes drizzled in sweet maple syrup. With his sugar intake, Gabe was sure to like it.

He put four of them on a plate, making sure to load up on the syrup. Picking up a fork from one of the drawers, he made his way back to his room, grinning at the angel when he looked up.

Gabe made a happy sound, eyes locking on the pancakes. "You didn't have to bring it to my bed," he said apologetically. "I would've came out."

Sam rolled his eyes. "You make it seem like such a big deal," he teased, putting the plate on Gabe's lap, the fork laying on top of his blanket.

The archangel happily tug in, taking big bites as quickly as he could. He moaned at the first taste, eyes closing in bliss. "These are so good, Sammy," he mumbled around the food.

"They're my favorite," Sam said, sitting on the edge of the bed. "I wasn't sure what you liked."

Gabe waved a hand. "I'll eat about anything you throw at me," he told him cheerfully. "Unless it's, you know, not actual food."

Sam laughed. "Whatever you say."

Within five minutes, the stack was gone and Gabe was setting the plate on the nightstand. Licking his lips, an action that Sam TOTALLY DIDN'T watch, he asked, "So what happened while I was out and how did you get me?"

Sam sighed, falling onto the mattress. "Long ass story," he grumbled. "I had to kill a chick."

Gabe raised an eyebrow. "Tell me the story?"

Nodding, Sam crawled up next to the archangel, hyperaware of how close they were. He ran a hand through his hair with a sigh.

"First of all, you kinda went on a killing spree with your pranks," Sam began, watching Gabe's features try to stay mutual. He could see the apologetic, fearful layer beneath it.

"I had to use a holy fire ring over a devil's trap to be able to contain you." Sam paused, biting his lip.

Gabe motioned for him to continue, his expression resolute. While Sam was nervous about telling the archangel what he'd missed, he began to speak again.

"We used your blood - I will not go into details on how we got that - to summon a chick named Skotádi," Sam said, his voice down to a reminiscent whisper.

"That poor girl had seen things. Lived through too much." The hunter sighed. "The spell she used on you was the only way she could die."

Gabe frowned. "How so? Skotádi was a goddess - darkness, herself. Why wouldn't she be able to die like one?"

"Her father and Aphrodite both bonded her to certain things. The spell she used was the only loop that would allow for her to finally die," Sam explained, staring at the wall distantly.

Gabe interjected, "So in casting the spell, she opened up her immortality until the spell was gone again? Her death was possible until I was gone, myself?"

Sam nodded, barely registering the words. "She said that she chose the two of us," he continued, beginning to get wrapped in his thoughts. "Told me that she was waiting for a love so strong between two people that they'd be strong and willing enough to get to her."

Sam was so consumed by mulling over his thoughts and Skotádi's words that he didn't notice Gabe stiffen with surprise and shock. He continued on, replaying all of the moments and connecting dots.

"She said I would need you," Sam muttered. "There was bigger things brewing. An east wind coming."

He ran a hand through his hair. "Killing her wasn't an easy thing, but before she died, she told to keep fighting for you. I promised her I would; I always have and I always will."

Sam stopped then, looking down at his fingers. Gabe's jaw worked, trying to get out any words.

"Y-you love me?" came a small whisper, dragging Sam's attention back to the archangel.

Sam's eyes widened. "Shit," he murmured.

THE SUSPENSE.

Sorry not sorry about writing it like this. I needed another cliffhanger, and if I went into Sabriel right now, the chapter would he like 2000 words.

Therefore, next update!

My apologies, guys. Thanks for reading!

~Gabe
