Day Three

"Barkfoot, you know what's right. You must continue."

"Windclan is weak!"

"It will be worth it."

Barkfoot woke up, still confused by the voices in his head. He knew what they meant, I mean, duh, but he didn't know who was saying them, and where they were.

Luckily, the other cats were still asleep. He snuck out the camp.

The sounds of crickets echoed through the forest as he walked over to Windclan's  border from the lake. Barkfoot heard the leaves rustle from the wind. Barkfoot liked it quiet...

Soon he could see the stars. Barkfoot looked farther to see more rocks, unequally surrounded near the camp. He knew he was close to the camp. He fastened his pace, and soon he found himself staring over the camp.

Apparently a few cats awake saw him.

Twigfeather, Runningstrike, now Runningstar, and Shadeclaw were staring at him.

"What are you doing here, Barkfoot!" Twigfeather stepped forward. Runningstar had a frightened look. Twigfeather had a disgusted look, and Shadeclaw had a challenging look.

"Look, give me trouble, and I'll give you some. I am here to talk with... Runningstar."

Shadeclaw nudged the leader forward.

"Look, uh... now's not the time!!" He was trembling with fear. Barkfoot looked at the leader. He ignored the words and beckoned Runningstar to follow him with his tail. He padded out the camp to the border.

"Well, Hailstar died."

Runningstar's tail fell.

"Cause... nevermind..."

Barkfoot chuckled. He stretched his claws out and raked the leader's muzzle. The leader leapt onto Barkfoot and bit his ear.

The leader backed off. Barkfoot pounced onto the leader and scratched his flank deeply. The leader kicked him and scratched Barkfoot's stomach just barely.

He backed up and pounced onto Runningstar again. He dragged his claw across the leader's neck, taking a life from him.

Barkfoot ran back to the camp, forgetting to clean his paws. He saw the two warriors and they stared at him with terror.

"You... you did it again?" Twigfeather hissed. Barkfoot smiled as the two warriors stood up and slowly walked toward the Thunderclan warrior. The warrior's smile faded as Shadeclaw's claws unsheathed.

"If I could take away this many cat's lives..." Barkfoot looked at Shadeclaw. "Then I can take yours easily. Now stop pretending you're the only one in this camp, and follow me if you want a fight!"

Shadeclaw nodded to Twigfeather. Twigfeather gave her a disgusted look, but followed anyways. Barkfoot looked back at the two to make sure they were following. He grinned.

"Hm, that was unexpected from a few Windclan warriors." He continued walking and looked forward. The two warriors kept following until they reached a large rock on the territory.

The two warriors stopped and Barkfoot turned around to look at them. As soon as Barkfoot twitched his tail, Shadeclaw  leaped onto him, but he kicked her off and scraped her cheek. Twigfeather jumped onto him next and bit the warrior's neck. Barkfoot kicked him off, leaving a deep scrape in his stomach.

Barkfoot backed up and looked up. The sun was already up.

"Sh!" He hissed when Shadeclaw and Twigfeather were about to attack him. He growled and turned to the camp.

"Shadeclaw, go back to the camp, I need to talk to Twigfeather about something..."

Shadeclaw obeyed since she needed to rest. Twigfeather sat down, not showing any fear. Barkfoot stared at him for a moment and stood up.

"Look, Stonefall doesn't care. She doesn't want you. She hates you, in fact. She thinks your annoying."

Twigfeather chuckled. "Yeah, sure."

Barkfoot grinned as he hid his sharp claws behind his tail. He quickly removed his tail and lunged towards Twigfeather. Barkfoot clung onto the tom's stomach with both paws. He bit onto his neck. Twigfeather screamed in pain.

Barkfoot ran away back onto his camp. He washed off his paws quickly in the stream. He continued to the camp. "Ugh!" He hissed under his breath when he stepped on 2 thorns. He quickly picked them out. He continued his way, once again. He found himself at the camp.

He saw the brambles surrounding the camp and went through the entrance. Stonefall eyed him suspiciously. "What? I was hunting early!" Barkfoot lied.

Stonefall nodded. She walked outside the camp to join the border patrol that just left. He tried to look as innocent as he could. Barkfoot watched the deputy walk out to hunt. He followed the deputy, Peachfoot, trying not to be heard.

When Peachfoot was soon at the Thunderclan border, with the stream separating Shadowclan, he pounced onto the cat. He dived his paw into his throat. Peachfoot gasped and blood gushed out his throat. He tried to get up, but failed and fell back down.

He watched Peachfoot struggle for a minute, then he quickly scraped his stomach with his two front paws, not enough to kill him, but since his throat was already bleeding, it would kill him easily.

Barkfoot washed his paws and dragged Peachfoot over to the camp by his scruff. He already had a story together. Barkfoot also scratched himself on a few branches.

"Hurricanestar!" he gasped. He dropped the body.

"What happened?" Hurricanestar stared at the body.

"Me and Peachfoot were hunting together, then he ran over to the border to catch a squirrel that was running to Shadowclan's territory. After that, we met a Shadowclan patrol. They attacked us. I tried to help Peaachfoot... but they killed him, and scratched me up," he had the lie prepared.

"Oh... well, I have to appoint a new deputy by tonight. I already have someone in mind," Hurricanestar said as Barkfoot had a sad look.

"Well, thanks for getting the body here, we'll clean it up and bury it tonight after I pick a deputy." He walked into the warrior's den. Luckily, Stonefall wasn't here. Nobody had proof that Barkfoot killed the deputy, except for the victim. He closed his eyes and slept as some of the warriors were out, sharing tongues with the cat for one last time.
