Remus Lupin considered the last twelve years of his life to be lucky. Despite what his younger self would've said, he managed to get married, despite his lycanthropy, and have three children. Edward, or Teddy for short, who was twelve. Lyall, who was eight, and Eliana, or Ellie, who was two. None of them exhibited any forms of lycanthropy, something he was forever grateful for. All three were metamorphmagi, however, and as much as he loved it, it did make keeping track of them fairly difficult.

For example, he one time lost Teddy when the two of them went to Diagon Alley, and couldn't remember what he looked like that day. He ended up finding him at Sugarplum's Sweet Shop looking at the array of chocolates.

When Teddy, followed by Lyall, were old enough, Remus and Tonks (who didn't care that she was married, she wasn't going by Nymphadora), had devised a colour-coding system for them. Each member of the family, bar Remus, had their own 'signature' look. Tonks's was Bubblegum Pink, Teddy's was Turquoise, Lyall's was Forest Green, and Ellie was still far too young to have her own. They always used it when they went out. If they needed to look 'natural' they used the hair colour they were born with — Tonks and Ellie's a mousy brown, Teddy's pitch black, and Lyall's dirty blond.

Remus picked Ellie up from her toddler bed, and held her like a baby, causing her to squeal.

"I not a baby! I not a baby!" she cried, her hair flashing between the colours of the rainbow. She stopped when Remus placed her on his hip.

"Let's go get your brothers," he said, and Ellie nodded.

"Let go get my boys!" Ellie agreed with a giggle. Her hair turned purple with excitement.

"Did you call me, Dad?" Teddy had heard part of the conversation, having just been passing his sister's room. That day, he had his hair pitch black and shoulder-length, and his eyes a stormy grey.

"I did," replied Remus, "Are you supposed to look like your Uncle Padfoot today?" Teddy twirled a strain of hair between his left index finger, and nodded.

"Well," continued Remus, "You succeeded. Are you ready to go to the Potters?"

Teddy nodded, "Mum's not coming, right?"

"She's at work. Have you seen Lyall?"

"I'm here!" Lyall ran down the hall, sliding to a stop next to Teddy. He also had black hair, but his was shorter and spikier, and his eyes were hazel.

"Do none of my children want to look like me?" He joked. In his arms, Ellie's hair and eyes flickered to match Remus's, causing Remus to chuckle.

"I think that Ellie does," Lyall stated.

"You ready?" Teddy and Lyall nodded, "Get in the car, then."

Lyall and Teddy raced to the car and climbed in, Teddy in shotgun, and Lyall behind the driver. Remus chuckled again before following them to the car.

He placed Ellie in her carseat, and started to buckle her. Teddy turned around, and looked around the head rest at his father. "Dad? Why exactly are we taking the car?"

"I can't apparate all three of you, and floo powder is a hassle with Ellie." Remus replied.

"I do it!" Ellie said, putting her small hands over Remus's to buckle herself. "I did it! All by myself!"

"Dad helped you," muttered Lyall. He ran his hand through his hair, which added onto his current appearance made him practically a second James.

"Shhh," Ellie shushed, putting her finger to her lip.

Remus couldn't help but smirk as he got into the car himself.

James Potter grew up with just himself and his parents. He wasn't used to the full house until he was fifteen, and a sixteen-year-old Sirius Black showed up at his doorstep during Christmas break.

His oldest son, Harry, had a similar upbringing. Being dubbed "The Chosen One" by the press for his survival of the killing curse. Voldemort had been on a mission to kill only the boy, and had only casted Stupify on James and his wife, Lily. Because of the threat, James and Lily had to raise Harry alone, without even the consideration of other children.

When Harry was seventeen, almost three months shy of eighteen, he managed to defeat the so-dubbed 'Dark Lord'. James couldn't have been prouder of his little Prongslet.

A few years after the war, Lily and James, despite being almost forty, decided to have another child, and Euphemia Potter was born.

Mia, as she was nicknamed, was just shy of twenty years younger than her older brother, but the two were fairly close. Harry always made time for his baby sister, despite having three children of his own. James couldn't have been happier.

James sat on the couch, his granddaughter, Lily Luna, who was two, on his lap. His youngest grandson, Albus, who was just shy of four, was curled up next to him, flipping through a picture book, despite the fact he couldn't read. Mia, who was ten, and James Sirius, his other grandson, who was six, sat on the floor playing a muggle game, Connect Four.

James was watching all four alone, which was part of the reason he contacted Remus and Sirius. Lily and Ginny, his daughter-in-law, were spending the day together, and Harry was at work.

"You said Uncle Moony, Teddy, Lyall, Ellie, and Uncle Padfoot were coming!" whined James Sirius, as he put a token into a slot. "Where are they, Grandpa?"

"James, I just asked them to come over. Padfoot's probably going to come on his moterbike, and Moony's probably driving." replied James.

"There are easier ways to come over," stated Mia.

Lily Luna started to clap, "Yeah! Ellie!"

James bounced her slightly, "They're coming, just wait,"

Sirius Black lived alone. Unlike his best friends, he hadn't settled down. Instead, he just spoilt their kids and grandkids. He never felt the need to, sure he'd been with plenty of people in his fifty years of living, but he never found the need to stick with one person.

He grabbed the keys to his motorbike, and his helmet (because he couldn't fly it in broad daylight), went outside, taking in the summer morning.

He could've flooed to the Potters, or Apparated, seeing as it was only himself, but he felt a sense of freedom on his motorbike. It gave him the thought of eternal youth. He couldn't stand being stuck anywhere, his twelve years in Azkaban catching up to him. He had been accused of the murder of Peter Pettigrew and  twelve muggles. It was known he wasn't a Death Eater, as the Potters had made a statement saying that he hadn't been their Secret Keeper, but there wasn't much evidence they could give about the murders. James had visited him on his birthday every year, and James had believed him that Peter was still alive. It was only a matter of finding him.

When Sirius escaped, he went straight to the Potter's and explained the situation. They tried everything to get Peter, but that little rat managed to get away.

Sirius was almost caught in the Department of Mysteries, but James had casted a Disillusionment Charm, and he was able to get back to 12 Grimmauld Place.

He was cleared of all charges following the second Wizarding War, something he was ecstatic about. Peter was sent to Azkaban for being a Death Eater, and Sirius felt that justice felt good served cold. Ever since then, Sirius couldn't stay home for more than a day, having to go outdoors in order to remind himself he was free.

He sat on his motorbike, and revved the engine. He sped off, his last thought being that even if he wasn't invited, he probably would have been spending the day with James anyway.

《♧》

Peter Pettigrew hated Azkaban. It was cold and dingy, despite the day being a normal summer day, and even without Dementors, the aura sent a shiver down his back.

To make it worse, the woman in the cell over, Dolores Umbridge, was always trying to talk to him. Peter had asked her to leave him alone more times than he could count in the last twelve years, but she didn't seem capable of shutting her trap. Sometimes, he thinks that death might have been better, if the alternative was sitting in Azkaban with Dolores Umbridge.

"Breakfast!" said an overly cheerful voice as his cell door opened. Tonks stood there, her hair Bubblegum Pink, and Peter's breakfast in her hand. She placed it on a small table by the door.

"Thanks," Peter mumbled under his breath, looking up at one of his former best friend's wife. "Same as yesterday?"

"It's the same everyday," she spat. "Don't look at me to be sympathetic. You did this to yourself."

Peter couldn't help but believe her as she walked out, her hair standing out against the walls.

"Prongsy dearest, I'm home!" Sirius called as he barged into the Potter house.

Mia looked up, "I think Uncle Padfoot is here, Dad," she informed.

"Uncle Padfoot!" James Sirius exclaimed, leaping to his feet and running down the hall, tackling Sirius into a hug.

"Hey, Prongs 2.0," he smiled, pulling James into a hug. He picked James up, and put him on his hip, and walked into the living room.

Sirius put James Sirius down when he entered. "Mia, Albus, Lily, Prongs," he addressed everyone in the room. "Moony not here yet?"

James shook his head, "It took you long enough to get here by yourself, Pads. Moony's got to get three kids ready. But, since it's Moony, I reckon he'll be here fairly soon."

"Uncle Pads!" called Lily Luna, jumping off of her grandfather's lap and wrapped her arms around Sirius legs. "I miss you!"

"I missed you two, Little Lily," he said, picking her up.

Lily Luna clung on to his neck, a large smile on her freckled face. Albus looked up from his picture book, and waved shyly.

"The question of the day — Why is Sirius the favourite?" James jested, placing Albus from his side onto his lap. James Sirius raised his hand, bouncing slightly, quite like his Aunt Hermione. "Yes, James?"

"Uncle Padfoot is my favourite because he has a cool motorbike!" James Sirius chimed in.

James feigned insult, "My own namesake chooses Padfoot over me?"

"Uncle Padfoot is my namesake too," James Sirius told him, rolling his eyes.

Sirius lifted up his free hand, and gave the six-year-old a high-five. "You're my favourite James," he whispered loudly in his ear, causing James Sirius to chuckle, and James to pout.

James was about to comment something when the door flew open, and Lyall ran inside."Uncle Prongs!" shouted Lyall, throwing himself on the couch next to James, and pulling him into a side hug.

"Yes! I'm someone's favourite!" James yelled, fist pumping into the air.

Albus finally closed his book and looked at Lyall, "We have the same hair." He stated.

Lyall nodded, "Like it, Al?"

Albus nodded quickly.

Teddy walked in the room, much slower than his younger brother had, and stopped next to Sirius.

Sirius put Lily down, and ruffled Teddy's hair, "Looking good today, Ted. How's my favourite male Hufflepuff?

"Good, — wait — why male?"

"Because your mother," Sirius said as if it were obvious.

Remus entered the room, holding Ellie's hand, who promptly let go when she saw Lily Luna, and the two ran over to each other, and Lily Luna pulled her over to the corner of the room, which held a toy kitchen.

"Everyone's here now!" observed James Sirius, "Can we play Quidditch?"

Remus frowned, "I dunno, James. Ellie and Lily obviously can't play, and Al might be able to, but I'm not sure."

"I not very good at it," said Albus, frowning.

"I fly! I fly!" shouted Lily Luna from her corner. "I my own broom!"

Lyall looked at his father pleadingly, "Uncle Prongs and Uncle Padfoot can take Teddy, Mia, James, and I to play Quidditch, and you can take Al, Ellie, and Lily to fly their baby brooms."

"I wan' fly!" cried Ellie.

"I don't wanna fly," mumbled Albus.

Remus looked skeptically around the room. "I don't have Ellie's toy broom with me." was what he managed to say.

"Don't worry, Moony! I have a spare one here!" exclaimed James.

Remus gulped, "I guess we can fly."

《♧》

Remus sat on a picnic blanket in front of the Potter's house, wondering what led him to agree to this.

Albus sat quietly next to him, playing with a few matchbox cars, making them race across the blanket.

Lily and Ellie were zooming around him. The yard was gated, and the brooms the girls were using couldn't go higher than three feet, but Remus still nervously watched the two.

"Careful, Lily, Eliana." he said, as they started to play tag, which they had seen their older brother's do.

"I alwa's careful, Daddy," called Ellie, before promptly falling off. Remus was glad he had casted Spongify on the front yard, for such occasions. Ellie, unfazed, just hopped back on her broom, and continued after Lily Luna.

"So, Al," Remus said, trying to make conversation with the boy next to him. Albus looked up from his cars, but didn't speak. "Your birthday's coming up, isn't it?"

Albus shrugged, "I dunno my birthday."

Remus chuckled, "It's the 31 of August. It's August right now." Albus nodded that he understood. "Is there something you'd like?"

Albus frowned, "For my birthday?" Remus nodded.

"I like books," continued Albus, "Mummy and Daddy read for me. Jamie learning to read too."

"Does James read to you?"

Albus shook his head, "Jamie only read to Mummy and Daddy."

"Anything else you like?"

Albus lifted up the little matchbox car, "I like cars. Mummy or Daddy make them go with magic. But I also like to make them go." He put the car down, and made it drive across the blanket, saying Vroom Vroom as if he were a car.

"It's fun to be the car, isn't it?" Remus smiled.

Albus nodded, and handed him a car, "You wanna do it, Uncle Moony?"

Remus chuckled and nodded, and the two of them played cars as the two two-year-olds zoomed and chuckled around them.

《♧》

James, Mia, and Lyall were huddled in a circle, whispering words of encouragement and plans to each other. They were playing three on three, two chasers and one keeper per team.

"I'm keeper, right?" asked Lyall. Despite being the youngest on the team of three, Lyall usually played keeper. He was very good too, learning from Ron whenever his family visited the burrow.

Mia nodded, "Dad and I are chasers."

"Are you two going to join your house team in a few years?"

Both Mia and Lyall nodded. "I'm going to be the best keeper since Ron! They'll be singing, 'Lupin is our King!" Lyall boasted.

"Oh, really," smirked James, "If you're so good, how about we win!"

"Ready?" shouted Mia, turning to where the other group was.

James Sirius shouted, "Ready!" back. He had the Quaffle tucked underneath his left arm, and the broom in his right hand. Anyone could tell he was excited. It was his first time playing with the older children, and not with his little siblings.

Everyone mounted their broom, "Three, Two, One, Go!" called James.

Lyall and Teddy made their way in front of the posts, and James Sirius passed the Quaffle to Sirius and the game commenced.

"I think it's time to go inside," said James, landing his broom, and checking his watch.

James Sirius scored a goal while Lyall wasn't looking. "Come on, Grandpa! A little longer!"

James shot Sirius a pleading look.

"Prongs is right, let's get Moony and the little ones and go inside."

"Is it time for lunch?" asked Teddy, as they landed.

"That, Teddy," said Sirius, "Is a good question."

《♧》

When Lily and Ginny returned home from their day out, they found everyone asleep.

Remus had Lily Luna curled on his left, with Albus lying on his right, and Ellie on his lap on the small loveseat. James, Sirius, Teddy, Mia, Lyall, and James Sirius were somehow all entangled on the sofa.

"I guess they had a good day," chuckled Ginny.

"That or a tiring day, seeing as all of the Marauders are asleep." added Lily. "Let's go make dinner before Tonks and Harry come home from work."

Miles away, the fourth Marauder, the one who had been kicked at years ago, laid asleep as well, dreaming of what it would have been like if he hadn't made that one decision, years ago.
